Winchester’s face darkened at the commotion. “Force him into the car—he’s drunk,” he ordered.

Around them, murmurs rippled through the crowd as people reacted to Franklin’s words.

“What did I just hear? Is she dating her grandfather? Isn’t Franklin her grandfather?”

“Wait—hold on. What is going on?”

“Wasn’t Franklin her boyfriend?”

Hearing the whispers, Christy’s eyes filled with tears. She stood rigid, fists clenched tight, biting her lower lip.

As soon as Winchester’s bodyguards reached Franklin, they grabbed him. He thrashed and shouted at the top of his lungs, “Let go of me! Let go of me! Don’t touch me!”

They lifted him off the ground and, despite his struggling, hauled him toward the parked car.

Franklin laughed, his voice sharp with mockery. “Christy, are you so ashamed you can’t admit it publicly—that my grandfather is your boyfriend?”

Still laughing, he was shoved into the car. Winchester climbed in after him, and the vehicle sped away.
