She got back into the conference room with the cleaning materials. As soon as she got to Kirklin's side, it was as if the babies in her womb kicked against his action toward their mum. They kicked so much and moved around quickly. She forced herself to clean up quickly and then served the tea afterward. Kirklin had his eyes on her as she did all that and immediately after the meeting, he asked the manager to give her a letter of termination of appointment.

Alexandra had hoped she would be able to get her terminal benefits if she tendered her resignation but this termination of appointment meant she would only get that month's salary; not even a maternity leave bonus.
