YOO-MI's POV

'I can open my own door," I told Jeonghan the moment he tried to reach around me and grabbed the handle of the car door.

It was six in the evening and I was discharged from the hospital. Mom and Honey rode with Josh in his car and they left ten minutes earlier.

'Yoo-Mi…" he said as he took a wounded step back when I yanked the door open and hopped inside. I angrily buckled my seatbelt and crossed my arms over my chest.

The drive was uncomfortable and silent. As endless array of emotions swirled between us. Anger, betrayal, confusion and disappointment.

I was hurt for him lying to me. How could he do this? I asked him not to lie again, but he did. I just—I was tired of him always thinking the best way to protect me was to stand in front of me, keep me in the dark. I was on my own for years. I handled things just fine without him. I knew he'll do whatever he could to keep me safe, but I'd rather stand beside him and deal with things head on, together than him doing it alone
