Fired? I haven’t started my job yet. Does that mean I’ll have right away to pay off all my debts to Sir Calix? What about my mother? I don’t have the money to pay off all the money he spent on my mother’s hospital bills yet.

I’d rather work off all my debts because I have nothing to pay Sir Calix.

“I can’t, Ma’am… I need this job.”

“Do I look like I care? Get out of here before I call security and send you to jail. Get out!” She shouted.

“No, ma’am. I need to talk to Sir Calix first.” I said bravely, even though inside I was shaking with fear.

I can’t lose my job immediately, let alone end up in jail.

“For a maid, you have the nerve to disobey me. Why, what are you holding? Are you flirting with my fiancé?”

“No, ma’am. We have–”

“You have, Calix what?!”

Before I could explain, he grasped my hair. I felt the pain of my scalp from the force of his entanglement in my hair. “Whoever you are, you’re a flirt. You’ll regret flirting with my fiancé.”

If he hadn’t come, we wouldn’t have noticed the time.That explains it; Brianna was completely zonked out and fast asleep as I emerged out of the bathroom.She’s in her dad’s room again. We were going to play Snakes and Ladders, but it looks like that’s not happening.
