NATHALIE DAVIES’ POV

Brianna didn’t eat all night last night. I fed her a few times, but she kept throwing the food on the floor.

I asked Esther’s permission for Brianna to have a face call with Sir Calix, and she approved Brianna’s request. After I told Brianna about that, she ignored me. She lay in bed all night until she fell asleep.

The sun was about setting, but Sir Calix had not returned and Brianna still hadn’t eaten.

After I checked on Brianna, I left her room.

I thought of only one approach to get Brianna to eat, and that would cost me my job. However, her health is more important. I can still find another job. I just hope I can ask Sir Calix about the debts I owe him.

I went to the dining table where Esther was fixing food for Brianna.

“Did Brianna agree to eat?”

I shook my head, a silent expression of my sorrow. “But I thought of a way for her to eat.”

“What is it? Is there anything I can help with so we can feed her?”

“Yes.”

“Okay, what is it?”
