He took off his white coat, set it on the table, and then gathered up all the paper bags again.

I put the paper bag containing the teddy bear on the couch and then followed him to the kitchen.

“I’m going to take a shower first. Can you handle being alone here?”

“Yes. I can handle it.”

“Okay then… feel at home. You can do whatever you want here.”

I found myself laughing at what he said.

After he left the kitchen, I began preparing the ingredients, and then I started cooking.
