*Meet again*

"Your mother needs immediate surgery to save her life."

The doctor's firm voice suddenly made Anna hold her breath for a moment.

For a year now, Martha, Anna's mother, has been suffering from kidney failure, requiring regular dialysis. Complications have worsened her condition, requiring Martha to remain hospitalized for the past few months.

All her possessions had been sold off so Anna didn't know where to find the money for the exorbitant cost of the operation.

"Does it have to be now, Doctor? Can it be postponed? I don't have any money yet. Can we just treat it normally?" Anna tried to bargain.

The man was Anna's ex-husband whom Anna loved very much.

Their marriage was disapproved of because Diego was a poor young man. So, heartlessly, Anna's father framed Diego and threw him in prison.

Anna's chest tightened at the memory. She didn't know how Diego was doing since he'd been released from prison. But one thing was for sure: she was certain he would hate her until he died, and the mere thought of him made her shudder.

"Excuse me, ma'am! We've arrived, please come in!"

The secretary's voice interrupted Anna's reverie.

"Oh, thank you!"

While tidying up her formal suit, Anna entered the room and tried to smile as she looked at the back of a tall and handsome man, one hand holding a drinking glass and the other hand tucked into his trouser pocket.

The man was standing staring out of the large window which directly displayed a view of the busy city streets.

"Good morning, sir! You must be Mr. Diego, the head of Global Delta Group. Let me introduce myself, I'm Anna from Novarecon Company," Anna greeted politely.

The man grinned when he heard Anna's voice, a voice he hadn't heard for a long time.

"Mrs. Anna William from Novarecon Company!" the man repeated, making Anna frown.

Why did the man's voice sound so familiar to her? Had they met before?

Anna was still guessing until the company leader turned around and made Anna's eyes widen.

"Mrs. Anna Williams finally we meet again!
