Daniel's POV As soon as Jocelyn stepped into her room for the night, I pulled off my clothes, rushed into the shower for a quick one and despite the amount of pain aching all over my body, I forced my body to do some work. Jocelyn's POV Our call slowly pulled up in the house after a few days at the hospital. My breath hitched as soon as I drove into the house. I darted my eyes around, in a bid to take everything in. The last time I was here, I didn't realize how much I'd miss this space when I left. Those few days at the hospital were a lot. I hated the sterile smell that filled my nose every time and being plugged to machines didn't feel pleasant in any way. I just wanted to feel better. I wound down my window and sucked in a fresh breath of air that hit my nose as soon as we were in the garage. “Ugh, this feels so different.” I thought to myself with my eyes closed. Daniel was sitting right beside me, his eyes scanning every moment I was making. I was so caught up in taking in the environment that I didn't realize the car had actually come to a stop. Daniel's POV My legs finally grew too weak to stand. I wasn't tired of looking at her face. Heck, I was still wondering if the whole thing was real but I knew i was too tired to even choose. I couldn't push my body beyond its limit and risk being the one in the hospital bed. Jocelyn probably saw the fatigue in my eyes and quickly shifted to make space for me on her bed. I took the space without hesitating because my head was starting to spin. I still couldn't shake off the worries on my mind. I wanted to hold on to her as much as I could before she'd slip out of my hand…again. Recounting the events of the past hours brought back the memories and fear really creeped up my skin, almost tearing me apart. Her bloody body flashed in my head. Daniel's POV My mind was crowded with so much as I approached Jocelyn's room. I had no idea what to expect, I just needed everything to be over at that point. My ears caught loud noises coming from the room but it really didn't sound like her. I mean, why would an unconscious person be shouting so loud that I could hear outside? However, the closer i got to the room, the more the noise heightened. My brows furrowed in confusion. A part of me feared that something might be going on in the room but I couldn't force my body beyond its limit.
