The bar door was locked when they parked in front of the establishment and all the lights were out. Rosalia walked around the outside of the premises making sure everything seemed in order. "My boss must have been contacted by someone"

"Well we should take you home then, doesn't look like there are any patrons to serve tonight" Giovanni stated looking around the empty street. It was quiet and eerie without the usual hustle and bustle the bar had to offer especially during the current summer months which brought everyone out and about.

Clearly word had spread quickly about the gunman scaring everyone away for the time being. "I have to ask" he looked at her with a slight curious smile on his face, "why do you walk around with an empty gun?" Rosalia knew the question was coming; in fact she was surprised he hadn't asked it sooner on the drive here. "This has happened to me before"

"In this same bar?" She nodded, "yes, I got scared the first time and I'm not entirely sure why but I purchased a gun. I have been meaning to learn how to shoot but I just haven't found the time. I was too scared to have a loaded gun without really knowing how to use it so I just thought for now it would be ok to use it as a threat". He laughed at her explanation.

"You're lucky the other guy had no idea about guns also then. It's generally pretty easy to know if a gun is loaded on not, depending on the type that is"

"Well lucky he was high" she replied extremely thankful knowing that tonight could have actually ended up far worse than it did. Giovanni looked over at Ricci who was still patiently sitting in the car waiting for direction. He glanced back at Rosalia wondering if she was done investigating the area. "So…"

"I should go, my car is just over there" she pointed to the lonely looking car on the quiet street. "Should we go for a drink somewhere?" He suggested suddenly not wanting to cut their night short. He felt a little drawn to her, he couldn't exactly explain it, possibly curiosity, but he knew he needed to know more about this feisty Italian beauty before him.

"It's pretty late, I really should go. Maybe another time?" He couldn't tell if the tone of her voice indicated she wanted to see him again or not.

Giovanni was really having trouble reading this girl. Something he surely wasn't used too, he believed he read people very well in his line of business. "Well I know where you work now so yeah, maybe another time. Get in your car, I'll wait for you to leave" Rosalia smiled, "that's very noble of you"

"I'm afraid I've given you the wrong impression, I'm probably everything but noble" he joked earning a laugh from her. "Thank you again for tonight" she continued calling out to him while walking backwards towards her car, "come see me at work, I at least owe you some free drinks".

"I've got some information, the least you can do is let me see your boss to personally deliver it" John O'Connor was beyond annoyed the next day. He was given a location to meet in the back corner of an espresso bar and was under the impression he would be conversing with the boss, not his goons.

"You know how this goes John" one of the men stated taking a sip of his espresso as his friend smirked in a way to annoy John even further. "I told you the information was good and I wanted to personally deliver it"

"We've told you how this works, the information goes through us and we take it up through the chain of command. Now you got something or what?" John rolled his eyes before taking a seat in the booth and motioning over to staff ordering himself an espresso macchiato. "You understand I risk my job when I pass over this kind of information right?"

"Your pockets are rewarded justly so don't start your bullshit. The price is the same as last time, if the information leads to something we can work with you'll get a bonus, and you know our boss is good for it". John reached into his pocket and pulled out a small folded piece of paper, he kept his palm on it when his macchiato arrived and waited for the waitress to move on before sliding it towards the man. "It may not seem like much right now, but he was keen on her. If he pursues her you might find yourselves in a good position"

"How do we know this isn't like the last one?"

"This one's Italian, I have a feeling he won't be able to keep away, it probably won't work out between them, but it could provide ample opportunities".

"Could also lead to nowhere" John nodded and drank his macchiato, "maybe, but if I know him like I think I do, he'll at least pursue her for a while. I did a background check on the girl; she doesn't have anything going for her in terms of criminal records.

She has been snapped partying at quite a few clubs where Giovanni and crew are known to do business so you never know..." The men nodded to each other, although they never showed it they were a little impressed and knew that having John on the payroll could very much work in their favour.

John O'Connor definitely was not the first LAPD officer on the Rizzuto family payroll. He has become however the most hard working. A few of his tips had lined the family's pockets with a substantial amount of money and he was certainly not missing out on the benefits. He hadn't always been a 'bad cop'; he was not even sure what the final straw was which made him turn to the family. All he knew for certain was that he was sick and tired of being underpaid while dealing with the low life citizens of Los Angeles. He had big dreams too and the Rizzuto family would help them come true.

She was spiralling again. Falling down the longest, most twisted rabbit hole to the depths of despair. That fucking shoebox. She hated it and all the happy people smiling back at her day after day after day. They were mocking her. Setting her up for failure. Her mind was frazzled, she could feel it leading her down a path of self destruction. So she called Stefano at twelve-forty in the middle of the night, to which he came to her without any fuss making it to her within ten minutes. "Babe what's wrong?" Making his own way into the penthouse she was sitting on the floor, the coffee table had been moved, the notebook was beside her and photos were covering every inch of the cosy rug. She looked like a mess. "I'm so sorry!" She sobbed uncontrollably, it was clear she had been crying for at least a solid half hour. "I know I'm being stupid, and I shouldn't bother you, and you gave me time to cry it out but-" "No... This is good..." He encouraged coming closer, shoving some of

The shoebox was tormenting her. Teasing her. Mocking her entire existence. Two weeks of rummaging through photos, a notebook with Rosalia's notes scribbled on page after page after page which followed her in every room of the penthouse. It was consuming her! Sleeping at night was becoming an impossible task; she went from unable to get herself out of bed to struggling to keep herself asleep at night. Ricci had invaded her dreams, or maybe they were nightmares? She wasn't entirely sure. She never recalled having fear in the dreams, but she always awoke shooting herself up in bed breathless, unable to re-find solace. The dreams were always what seemed completely random; sometimes he was walking her through Elisa's apartment, the pair hand in hand just walking aimlessly with no real purpose or destination. Other times she was frozen completely still beside Elisa's coffee table while Ricci moved around her violently, tearing objects out of cupboards, boxes, shelves. She was never ab

Five Days Later..."Rosa seriously, we were here yesterday and the day before that, and while you were incarcerated we also tore this place apart. There is nothing here!"The exhaustion in Stefano's voice could not be hidden no matter how hard he tried. This woman simply would not listen! It was infuriating! What did Giovanni even see in her?Must really know how to suck cö-"And I told you yesterday, and the day before that, you don't have to supervise me! Go home, or to the club, or wherever else Gio has you running around for him."Rosalia's voice interrupting his less than desirable thoughts. She was a woman on a mission, a not so well organised mission, but a mission at that!Elisa's old apartment had been completely abandoned. By the time the dust had settled on the situation at the New Jersey Estate, she was long gone.Giovanni had quickly organised continuous payments to the landlord which were still occurring to date. It was a long shot, but they hoped she would eventually re

Rosalia felt like she had been sitting at the overly packed dining table for hours while Stefano watched on opposite her grazing on various foods joining her. It was strange to her, he looked so normal with his still slightly damp hair and now wearing casual sportswear, she was positive she had never seen him without a suit. "Why did you order so much food?" She queried barely making a dent in one of the take out options, let alone the entire table full. "Really?" He questioned back throwing a dumpling into his mouth. "You haven't eaten in days." She continued to stare at him dumbfounded. "Yeah so that's not how it works Stefano, my stomach can't just miraculously accommodate the day's worth of food in one sitting..." "Should have thought of that before you tried to starve yourself. Eat." "Stomachs actually shrink, not expand when you don't eat-" "As riveting as this Human Biology lesson is Miss Bernardi, I dropped out of school because listening to my teachers gave me a migra

"Rise and shine sunshine!" Stefano shouted flicking the switch upwards for the light block out blind forcing the bedroom to slowly fill with light from the beautiful sunny day. Unfortunately the weather had not been matching Rosalia's solemn mood the last few days. She had certainly been missing out on some great sunshine while cooped away in bed. "Go away..." She groaned from under the covers, forcing the duvet over her head scrunching her body into a fetal position. She simply wasn't ready to face the world yet, to accept her fiancés fate and go about life waiting. "Not a chance Rosa..." Gripping both fists full of the covers he yanked at them hard, full of purpose and meaning business this time around, unlike the previous days. "The pity train has reached capacity little lady and this is your stop. Get up!" "No!" She spat back sounding like a pitiful little child rebelling at the dinner table. "I'm not ready yet!" She sat up attempting to reach back for the covers with the look

"Maximum Security!" Rosalia wailed in the backseat of the car all while Stefano kept his eyes on the road straight in front just a few short minutes away from the Prison now. "You didn't tell me it was a maximum security prison Gio!" She was telling herself not to overreact, to breathe and let her fiancé explain, but the words Maximum Security had really set her off. "Its fine Rosalia, just take a breath and calm-" "Don't you tell me to calm down!" Yanking her hand from his to wag a finger in his face angrily. Just when she thought things couldn't get any worse, and just like that, they were! Prison wasn't exactly a resort everyone was lining up to get into, but Maximum Security meant trouble, it could very well be the place where Giovanni's past could catch up with him. "They weren't going to let me negotiate out of Max Rosa, that part was not negotiable..." "AND DIDN'T YOU WONDER WHY?!" She hadn't meant to scream, but her emotions were finally surfacing as they drew closer and
