"BASTARD!" Rosalia was uncontrollably screaming the police station down. Frantically trying to get free her attempts were only causing her to hurt herself in the process.

"So help me God I will throw you in that cell with the cuffs still on if you don't stop" one of the police men threatened now having more than enough of her. She was body slamming the police car door the entire drive to the station whilst simultaneously cursing.

"I'll take it from here" Police Officer John O'Connor stated from behind the desk. He smiled at Rosalia as the previous officer pushed her forcefully onto the desk.

"BASTARDO! NON MI TOCCARE" (BASTARD! DON’T TOUCH ME)the tone in her voice was beyond any anger that had ever escaped her lips.

How could they do this to me? I was robbed at gunpoint and I'm the one being arrested?'

She thought angrily unsure if she was now ready to break down and cry. The arresting officer slammed her unarmed gun which was now in an evidence bag onto the desk angrily, "she was pointing this at me on the scene" he stated loudly knowing very well he was adding fuel to her very brightly lit fire.

"If you fücking listened to me you would know that gun is registered to me and I was merely protecting myself from the man who actually committed a goddamn crime tonight you son of a bitch!"

"That's enough miss!" Officer John O'Connor raised his voice authoritatively making sure she knew who was boss from this point on. "Don't you worry, we will be checking up on the status of that firearm, if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about" O'Connor stated attempting to be the voice of reason tonight.

"I'm not going in that cell" Rosalia retaliated instantly tensing up once again feeling herself raging all over.

"Well Miss Bernardi it unfortunately isn't your choice. You already made your choices tonight and they have led you to this police station, so you will have to calm down and accept this. The process can take as long or as quick as you like ultimately the choice is yours". With that O'Connor nodded to the arresting officer indicating to him to release Rosalia of her cuffs.

The officer linked the cuffs back onto his belt and leaned into Rosalia's ear to whisper, "now calm down tiger or I'll have to restrain you again", he cheekily squeezed her thigh knowing very well it would force her to start another scene.

"PEZZO DI MERDA TI AMMAZZO!" ("PIECE OF SHIT, I’ll KILL YOU!") He laughed and pushed her back down face first onto the desk again while more officers entered the building with Giovanni. Even whilst Rosalia swore and struggled the officers barely had any problem pushing her into the women's confinement cell just a few meters away. She continued to yell her profanities in Italian as she was furious that a gunman was roaming the streets whilst she was in a cell.

"Ah Giovanni, what a surprise seeing you again" O'Connor stated shaking his head at him clearly not surprised. "Pleasure to see you too John" Giovanni winked as he was pushed into the men's cell adjacent to the women's.

Giovanni de Luca was not a stranger to this particular police station, in fact sometimes he joked about it being his second home. The story was always the same, he would get arrested, placed in a cell and then bailed out by one of his crew within the hour. The police never had any solid evidence to keep him for a long amount of time and witnesses would suddenly become unwilling to give a statement.

"Hey! Pezzo di merda, I'm thirsty" (piece of shit)

Giovanni turned to look at the Italian speaking woman in the cell next to him. Besides her perfectly pronounced Italian, he first noticed her luscious long black thick hair. It was down and had slight curls towards the ends. He thought it also looked a little crazy at the moment, probably because she may have been resisting arrest. Her eyes were piercing dark green, they were absolutely captivating against her sun kissed tanned skin and dark hair.

Absolutely stunning.

He thought to himself realising he was in awe of this beauty before him. "English!" John O'Connor yelled unimpressed with how far this young lady was attempting to push him. "Oh come on John" Giovanni chimed in with a big smirk across his face, "she only called you a piece of shît, can't blame the lady for calling it how it is".

"You'd be wise to shut your mouth Gio or I'll keep you here all night". Giovanni began to laugh like he had just heard the funniest joke of the night, "now we all know that's not happening so don't flatter yourself John. Now get this beautiful lady some water". He turned his attention immediately to Rosalia who was now looking on in slight awe of him, she suddenly grew quiet.

Giovanni de Luca had a perfectly sculptured face. One that would look spectacular sprawled throughout a high end Italian magazine. His cheek bones were prominent and his dark stubble made Rosalia secretly wonder about how it would feel against her skin. His hair was a dark chestnut brown and although his body seemed slender with his Armani immaculate grey suit, she imagined he had something impressive under it. He looked like someone who was definitely fit.

"Come ti chiami bella?" ("What’s your name, pretty?") Immediately she was brought back down to earth when he suddenly addressed her.

"Perché?" (why?)

"I'm not going to tell you both again, English only!" O'Connor roared angrily at the pair. "Curious, I'd like to put a name to that beautiful face of yours"

She couldn't help but blush. Even so, she was not easily fooled; he did seem to be a regular criminal after all. "Rosalia" she finally replied earning a smile from him, "nice to meet you Giovanni, even under these circumstances".

"Oh no Rosalia, it's nice to meet you! What brings you to this dump? No offence but you don't exactly fit in"

"That would be because I shouldn't be here. I was working and my bar was held up by some maniac and these geniuses decided to waste tax payers money and arrest me!" She glared at the direction of the officers who only glared straight back listening to every word.

"Sweet heart you better shut that smart mouth or you'll be in much more trouble than you already are". John's authoritative voice now turned to his threatening voice. Rosalia on the other hand smiled.

"John, John, John..." He murmured while wrapping his hands around two of the bars and resting his forehead against the middle. "Don't make threats you can't live up too. You won't be touching a hair on this young lady's head, you hear me?"

John O'Connor threw his head back in a fit of laughter finding this entire situation suddenly amusing. "Ah yes Gio, I simply must have forgotten that you're actually a knight in shining armour. Honestly Gio you just become utterly ridiculous the second some fresh pūssy is in the air".

With that Rosalia banged on the bars in rage slightly hurting her palms in the process. "SCREW YOU PIG!" She screamed gloriously loud, her voice echoing through the entire complex.

Just in that moment the entry doors opened revealing another immaculately dressed man in a suit.

Rosalia's eyes flared with a mix of anger and satisfaction as she stepped closer, locking her gaze onto Elisa. The atmosphere in the room thickened with tension, the weight of Stefano's earlier words hanging there like a dare.In an instant, Rosalia closed the gap between them, her eyes burning with rage. Elisa instinctively took a step back, fear written all over her face, while Rosalia’s fists clenched tightly."You think you can mess with me?" Rosalia's voice was dangerously soft. "You really think you can manipulate me as a pawn in your twisted little game and just walk away?"Elisa shook her head, her voice shaky. "I didn’t mean to hurt you, Rosalia. It wasn't supposed to go this far."Rosalia’s laughter cut through the air—cold and devoid of humor. "Didn’t mean to hurt me? Or didn’t mean to take me out so you can get to Giovanni? You’re just sad."Suddenly, Rosalia lunged forward and gripped Elisa's arm, her hold strong and unyielding. Elisa winced, a cry escaping her as Rosalia

It was one of the most uncomfortable flights of their lives, certainly due to the high intensity of the situation at hand. Absolutely everything had been rushed, getting in contact with Giovanni's preferred travel agent, booking under their thankfully already setup false identities and the dreaded packing of course. What was even more frustrating for Stefano, having to reveal to his travel partner Caro, he had lost complete control of the boss's fiancé. Stefano had been in a position where he had to choose carefully in very short time between men. If he had made the incorrect choice Giovanni would have been alerted immediately and that would have pretty much sealed his fate. Thankfully for him, even though Caro had expressed his sincerest opinion about how crazy the situation was and how he didn't feel comfortable defying the boss, eventually he was able to be convinced. Now, as they waited patiently outside the apartment complex for the street to clear trying to minimise the

"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Elisa's frantic screams filled the room, it was a miracle no one in the apartment complex was banging on her door to investigate the commotion - although it was an area notorious for little to no income earners, crime filled the neighbourhood she could afford whilst being on the run. "YOU-YOU k-killed-" "SHUT UP!" Rosalia snapped trying to come to terms herself with what had just occurred. Elisa had hit a nerve, Ricci, the person she had tried to find justice for all this time, Elisa was also responsible for his death. It hurt. Far more than she could have ever imagined and in that moment, she wanted Elisa to suffer. "HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING!" "And neither did Ricci!" Her response instant and cold. Elisa couldn't believe what she was hearing, who was this person before her? Where did the overly nice and annoyingly innocent girl go? This sure as hell wasn't her. "You're going to an Italian prison you stupid fuck!" She continued to badger still in to

The silence in the room was almost deafening. Nobody moved, not even the sleeping infant as Rosalia stood firm, weapon in hand ensuring she was being perceived as someone who meant business. And she truly did mean business. This was the moment she has psyched herself up for, had been working towards for so long now. There was no way she was going to back down; there was no deal they could possibly make her that didn't include Elisa returning back to New York with her. Whatever she needed to do to get that done was her primary focus. "Dov'è Elena?" (Where's Elisa?) Rosalia asked, finally breaking the silence between them. Without taking a step he cautiously placed his iced cold beer on top of the dresser to his right before responding. "Signorina..." (Miss) His voice already trailing with the last syllable. "Hai sbagliato apartamento". (You have gone to the wrong apartment) Placing his hands defensively in the air as if to surrender he attempted a step toward her but was instantly t

Rosalia's black leather encased fingers gently tapped the steering wheel in front of her. She had gone to Patrisio for what hopefully would be a final favour, one which he insisted was free of charge, he had loaned her a vehicle to do with as she pleased. It had certainly come in handy the last few days, it was much easier to stake out Elisa's home and whereabouts this way. But today she was ready for confrontation, she couldn't wait any longer, it had been far too long ditching Stefano now and she was certain her luck with that would be running out soon. She had felt horrible the last couple of days thinking back on everything, the way she had fled and the trouble she had most likely dragged Stefano into. She hadn't meant any harm and only hoped he had been able to come up with something for her fiancé. But this was personal, something she felt she had to do. She had been imprisoned for a crime she very well knew she committed under circumstances where she felt she had no other op

Italy... The word continued to taunt Stefano unable to get the location out of his head as he sat in the prison parking lot smoking what was most likely his last cigarette. He had barely been able to process anymore of his TSA's contact information the previous day and he certainly wasn't able to get any sleep after hearing the news. His world had come crumbling down. There was no way in hell she was coming back in time and they had been unable to firmly place where in Italy Rosalia even was – or if she was even still there? There had been no credit card transactions, no check in's that he could grasp under her real name, his checks on Elisa still coming up empty so now he had no choice but to face the wrath of Giovanni. He had seriously thought about not showing up at all, throwing caution to the wind and just being a no-show for the day. But the reality was, where would that leave him? Surely his boss would simply make contact with one of the other men, have him tailed and with
