Jeremy’s POV

I got home and the first thing I did was burn the damn picture. I met with my father and Denver. The old man was not smiling.

“Why would a newbie carry out such task?’’ He roared upon seeing me. I turned to Denver to ask for the issue at hand knowing fully well that I did not give any task to a newbie.

“The new guy claims that the goods– drugs were stolen from him on his way to delivery.” Denver said avoiding eye contact because he was the one that sent the newbie on that errand. I will never put my goods in the hands of an amateur.

“I’m sorry, Capo. I didn’t know that he was a newbie, I was too busy managing the company.” Maybe I should not have said that last part, my father threw his glasscup to my head. I started bleeding profusely, I had to eat up the charges for Denver if not my father would have probably killed him. This is the worst he can do to me since I am his only son, he can’t kill me.
