Chapter 33

Jace

Beta Ryan stumbled back from the force of the punch, his expression a mix of surprise and anger. He wiped the blood from his lip and glared at me with intensity.

"You're more shameless than I thought, Jace" he spat, his voice laced with venom. "You're not fit to be alpha if you're going around hitting your own pack members. And even worse, you can't avenge your father's death. You are nothing but a disappointment"

That statement hit a nerve, and I pinched my cigar tightly, but I was determined not to let him get the best of me. I stared deep into his eyes as i watched him wiped the blood from his lips.

"And you, are you any better than I am?" I retorted, my voice cold. "What kind of father would not have the guts to avenge the death of his own son?"

I took a drag from my cigar, puffing it into Beta Ryan's face making him cough in a feat to humiliate him. He stood silent, avoiding my gaze, his face to the floor.

"That's what I thought," I continued, my tone dripping with disdain.
