It's back here.

My gaze remained on the werewolf that stood far from me, standing tall like a human.

I didn't run away. After my encounter with it the last time, I no longer had fear towards it.

I felt calm and drawn instead.

Where I stood, I could see the werewolf making its way towards me. That got my heart pounding next.

I was thinking of doing the same, but I chose to wait instead, watching.

That's when I saw something mesmerizing. Something I've never seen before.

As it approached me, his body and height began to transform into... A man?

I gasped on seeing a handsome man walking towards me under the moonlight. His eyes glowing red, sending a tingling feeling within my heart.

That's when I felt that connection again. That beautiful flow that drew me out of my home and right here in the forest.

Is it coming from him?

My lips came separating a bit followed by my feet moving forward to this handsome being coming to me.

It soon came to halt when this young man stood before me. We were standing before one another, our eyes locked.

I felt lost while staring into his eyes.

I can't tell if he's a human or a werewolf any more. I'm just confused.

But one thing is clear. The look in his eyes is the same as our first encounter.

The wind blew right through my hair , but it didn't take my gaze away from this charming being before me.

He was  hovering around me as he drew nearer, slowly closing the gap between us.

I felt my heart skip when I saw this, but I didn't move. It's like I... I wanted him to come closer to me.

I felt his arm taking me by the waist, pulling me closer to his chest.

I gasped softly, still staring at him. Feeling his arm holding me firmly and his hand taking me by the chin, lifting my face to his level.

His eyes shimmered down at me, giving out a beautiful aura.

I felt lost, almost like I'm under a spell.

The captivating connection that drew me out of my home came strongly.

I thought I was feeling it alone, not until I heard from him. "It's truly you, " He said in a charming tone.

This means that the connection is indeed from him. He was the one calling out to me.

But how?

I had the urge to ask, but his lips brushed against mine, closing the gap between us. Gently locking it mine with a lot of savory, kissing me passionately.

"What is happening? Why am I allowing a stranger to kiss me? " I couldn't explain what was going on to me.

All I could feel at the moment was nothing but pleasure.

His arm pulled me closer the more and his kiss came harder on me. Almost like he has been craving my lips for a long time.

I felt lost and moved to hold him close. My arms came around his neck, pulling him closer to myself for more.

I've read a lot of magical stories about a princess meeting the man of her dreams, but I never placed myself in that position before.

This is indeed magical.

Our lips came separating but the gap still remained closed.

His eyes fell on me along with mine.

That's when I noticed a curve escaping his lips, which left my heart glowing for him.

His face came caressing mine lovingly, just like the last time we met.

And like the last time, I held him close feeling butterflies within.

"Xavier, my name is Xavier," He introduced himself.

Together, holding hands, we were strolling through the forest side by side.

"That's a beautiful name," I commented, looking at his charming face.

His eyes and body... It's the best definition of perfection.

"What's your name? " He asked, putting a halt to our feet, as he leaned against a tree, pulling me into his arms.

My hands came against his chest before feeling his forehead on mine.

I lifted my eyes to look at this man who had clearly fallen head over heels over me.

"Sophia," I responded with a smile, still looking into those tempting red eyes of his.

"Sophia. It's the first time I'll be hearing such a beautiful name, " He complimented, leaving my cheeks glowing red.

I tried to look away shyly, but he wouldn't let me. He wants to see my face and admire me more.

It's clear in his eyes, and I love it.

"What are you doing in the midst of human's?" He asked, dressing my hair to the back.

His question sounded funny to me, but I still have an answer.

"That's because it's my kind. I am a human."

"That can't be possible. Are you pulling my legs? " Xavier asked, chuckling at me.

Smiling, I said, "I'm not joking. I'm a human."

My response slowly took the laughter off Xavier's face. He looked serious now.

Why is he looking like that?

"No Sophia. You are not human," He said, letting go of me.

This was beginning to feel weird.

"I am human Xavier. I am a human being," I repeated so he would hear me.

But Xavier swayed his head at me and said, "You aren't human Sophia."

"I am, " I said, stepping away from him.

"You... You saw me the other night with my kind. I am a human, Xavier."

"If you were human, you wouldn't have heard me when I called out to you. " He drew closer to me, almost closing the gap between us.

I made an attempt to step away from him, but his arm came cupping my waist, pulling me into his hold.

I gasped softly looking into his eyes. All I could see now was a man filled with desperation.

What does he mean?

"You aren't human, Sophia. You are a werewolf like me. My mate, My Luna."

"What?" I stared in shock.

Me, a werewolf?

Xavier's POVMother's words just had to become the biggest joke of the century; the only thing was that no one was laughing. Least of all, myself."You never hated humans because they were weak, Xavier. You hated them because it was easier than facing the truth."Within that, the acrid song clanged within me, digging at corners of thoughts I struggled burying long. I clench my fist and dig fingernails deep into my palm with the strength therein-none against this crystal clear realization now stinging across my mind. She was right.I have hated humans with all my being, believing them to be the ones that killed the old Alpha-the root of every tragedy my clan had to face. That had been the case, and it was what molded me into what currently I am: an unrecognizable monster. It wasn't until I met her that everything came unraveling: Sophia.I had seen her first, and it wasn't some fairy tale: no music playing that I was supposed to hear and then gaze deep, soulfully into the middle of a p

Xaiver POVBut the wind whips through ruin, carrying with it scents of ash and blood and something worse: despair. I was running through what had once been villages, my paws pounding against the earth, my desperation and heart racing with every stride that brought me closer."Please," I whispered, uttering my first silent prayer to the Moon Goddess. "Let her be safe.".Nothing mattered to me-the amount of wreckage that surrounded me, the smoldering heap of houses that lay there like remnants of burnt towns and anything else, were all carrying huge loads of odor due to this fire. It was so dense in the street that every breath felt choked; I felt all shattered streets silenced as carriers of ghosts of dead people. But nothing mattered anymore. None of it did. Only she did.I growled louder, pressing harder-my claws deep in the dirt-moving me faster toward Sophia's town. Farther in, the worse it got. What once used to be such a peaceful settlement was no more and lay as nothing but rubb

Xavier's POVI entered the big hall. Immediately, it was like walking into the boiling pot of tension. My mother sat in her usual chair near the fireplace, clutching a glass of red wine in her hand. She was unreadable, and opposite her sat Cindy-the ever-smiling snake-her dark eyes dancing with humor.I had heard them talking minutes before I came in-whispering something evil, something which concerned her.Sophia.My jaw clenched while taking a few steps forward, my gaze fastened to my mother's serene yet aloof face. "What were you talking about?" My voice came out even, etched with muted anger. She said nothing. She sipped her wine slowly, set the glass down with a soft clink against the wood table. And kept silent. It was driving me mad. Before I could press for more, a low chuckle rose from Cindy. "Ah, Xavier," she said, her frame a pace nearer to mine. "Still so impatient."I whipped toward her in a second, muscles clenching. It was a while since we faced off, yet with only one g

Xavier's POVI didn't knock.I'd opened it by a hair, and the doors shut behind me with sufficient force that the sound rang in the room.I was panting with evident effort in rough, stuttering breaths as I gazed at what I beheld. My mother. Sophia's POVAsh and smoke hung around.Old home, where I had lived those years ago, when I lived at, oh so long, long, long, long, long ago, was burned: ash was all that was left: charred timber, snapped-up furniture, and shattered glass all over where I ever rested remained, desolation spilling upon me.Chilled to the bone, my hands were shaking, because I couldn't catch my breath, couldn't cling to it.The old fires now were nothing but ash and dust. And my mother.I gritted, the throat shutting over a thudding mass.Where was she?The thought crept through me, twisting in me like some monster and booming insistently at the center of my chest above the curve of my ribs. And then, suddenly—Footsteps.I spun on one heel, braced stance ready to bludgeon, fist slapped around the knife-hand on thigh like on buckler. The screen: vapory wound, face unmistakably familiar.Xavier.Peace storm black.Wound in his strange-to-me plain black, slouching, head thrown back, sneering, fit-on-the-v
