Chapter 00: Prologue

Mia's Point Of View

Seattle

Nine Months Ago

Mia stood in the long line at the grocery store waiting to get through. There were at least 15 people ahead of her, and she was in the shortest line. She had just finished grocery shopping, and she is eager to get home and take a nap. After almost 15 minutes, she was the 3 person in the line. An elderly woman, a young teenage boy, and her. When it was the boy's turn to pay for his items, he realized that he had left his wallet.

"Is everything okay?" Mia asked as she watched the cashier put the stuff back that the boy had.

"I think I lost my wallet," The boy said, stepping out of the line to check his bag.

"How much does his things cost?" Mia asked, opening her purse. The boy was already on his way out of the store.

"Uh, $43.04. Are you going to pay for them?" The cashier asked, surprised. Mia nodded and gave her $50. The cashier rang them up and then put the items in a bag.

After Mia collected his items, she asked the cashier to check her items while went to find the boy. She walked out of the store, and he wasn't very far. She ran up to him and touched him on the shoulder. He turned around, and she gave him a kind smile.

"Here you go," Mia said to him.

"What is this?" He asked her.

"You lost your wallet, so I paid for your stuff." She said, holding the bag out to him.

"Uh, thank you. You really didn't have to do that," He said to her. She smiled as he took the bag.

"I wanted to. Sometimes it is good to do something nice every once in a while. That is how we get our blessings," She said to him. He smiled and nodded.

"Thank you again, ma'am," He said, politely. She nodded and quickly made her way back to the store.

Sebastian who was standing behind her smiled slightly. All his life, he has never seen someone who was willing to help a stranger like that. Maybe it's the fact that he didn't know much kind people. It shows how selfless and thoughtful she really is.

Something about her also intrigued him. He watched her the entire time, up until she left the store. He paid for the lighter and the breath mints, he took up and left the store. Sebastian walked for a few minutes, and then he saw Mia standing at the bus stop.

"Follow that bus. I want to see where it takes her," Sebastian ordered his driver, who stood next to him.

Mia felt eyes on her and looked up, seeing a man in a dark suit. Before she could see his face, the bus came and stopped in front of her. She got on and found an empty seat. She looked through the window and the man that was looking at her was long gone. Not only that, but she thought nothing of it and saw it as something so simple.

"What is she to you?" The driver asked as he drove off behind the bus.

"I don't know yet," Sebastian responded.
