Chapter 13: Stockholm syndrome

Mia's Point Of View

The Next Morning

~ 6: 45 a.m.

The ear-piercing sound of the alarm rang through my ears and I jumped awake. My body fell with a hard thud and I groaned in pain, rubbing my elbow. Tiredly, I sat up and picked up my phone off the couch to check the time. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes before standing up.

The blanket wrapped around my lower half and I furrowed my eyebrows. Last night, I don't remember grabbing a blanket, which meant that Sebastian placed it on me. I looked over to the bed, and he wasn't there. Sighing, I made my way over to the bed and lay down beneath the covers. I needed some sleep before 9 a.m., though all I wanted to do was get the dress and come back.

A few minutes after laying in bed, the bedroom door opened and Sebastian walked in wearing a pair of running pants and Nike sneakers with a shirt over his shoulder. He closed the bedroom door and took off his shoes. I slowly sat up and he looked at me.
