Just Another Scandal's Notch On Your Bedpost

The next day as I entered the office building, I stilled. There was stunned silence, a hush that ell with my presence. Not one of awe but it felt like to have stemmed off of bewilderment. Not like the one before that I’m used to observing. This silence was filled with shocks and contempt. After that moment murmuring and whispers broke out.

Too many voices and hushed claims I could hardly make one from another. It was early in the morning and peers hung around in the reception area and lobby everyday. Gossip went around like piñata filling but it was charged with volumes.

With my head held high above these duckling’s herd I trotted to my destination. Halfway to the elevator is when I heard: ‘Slut’ ‘Corporate climber’ ‘Slept her way up’ ‘Boss’s Whore’ ‘Driver’ ‘Branded clothes&
