BROKEN

She was dressed up into a beautiful green gown . An off shoulder gorgeous gown with the work of netted embroidery done on the chest area giving a marvelous view of her chest. Her collarbones were visible . Her beautiful hairs were styled into a bun with beads in it.

Her sister , Kacy was helping Evelyn with styling her curls , trying to get it perfectly done. A warm smile was plastered on her face . She looked just a happy bride.

All of a sudden, the door slammed open and a she heard loud screams making her smile , recognizing the owner of those high pitched screams.

“ you look stunning “

Lilah squealed , clapping her hands , showing her excitement with her whole body. Evelyn giggled and stood up , revealing a beautiful pair of crystal glass shoes in her feet making her look like a princess out of the fairytale.

“ you look beautiful , girl “

Sam commented making Evelyn to smile from ear to ear before embracing her two best friends in an emotional hug.

“ can’t believe you’re getting married “

The three girls giggled and before could further more converse , Kylie took their attention by entering into the room.

“ mom has called you “

The girls quickly gathered around Evelyn , checking her to see everything was perfect before escorting her out when ……… they noticed Ethan rushing towards them , holding a bouquet of fresh white roses. He was dressed up in a black suit , hairs slicked back giving a view of his shining forehead.

All of a sudden nervousness surrounded her and she halted in her tracks. Ethan rushed towards them , panting heavily before extending the bouquet towards her making her smile and ruffle his hairs in love .

“ you look nice “

Evelyn rolled her eyes at her brother’s compliment and held his arm while he chuckled. They started walking towards the entrance of the venue with girls following her behind making her heart to pound.

Her heart was beating like a drum and her heartbeat accelerated.

“ where’s mom and dad ? “

She impatiently waited for her brother’s answers.

“ they are with guests and your in-laws “

Her cheeks warmed up at her brother’s words and a giggle escaped her lips. Stepping onto the smooth path created by rocks , she noticed the whole garden glowing with lights and smelling like fresh flowers.

Taking a few steps , her eyes steamed with excitement and happiness seeing her family , her soon to be in laws , a few close friends of both the families and some of her classmates.

Her emerald orbs met Mateo’s and she tried to held back her smile only to giggle out loudly. Everyone looked towards and seeing her smiling , everyone’s heart swelled. She was looking sparkling gorgeous and happy.

She noticed Mateo walking towards her. Dressed up in a black suit , hairs parted from the middle giving a view of his forehead that was slightly visible from the middle.

One hand in his pocket as he approached her making him look so handsome.

He extended his hand out only for her to take it. He held her hand and gently gave a peck on the back of her palm giving her goosebumps.

Walking towards everyone , she smiled as everyone started complimenting her.

“ you look so beautiful , sweetie “

Eloise spoke before jumping to embrace her making her smile widely , hugging her back with same excitement . Everyone around them looked so happy and supportive except for him , who was standing near a table , holding a glass of alcohol , twirling it in his huge hand.

He was dressed up in a black pants along with a black shirt , top two buttons undone and his hairs slicked back with a strand of hair falling on his forehead giving a hot dominating look . He was minding his business when all of a sudden , Eloise called his name , taking everyone’s attention.

“ Dominic , come here “

Evelyn’s body seemed to freeze at his name. Her eyes stuck on him who shifted in his place after hearing his sister’s voice. Looking over to their direction , his eyes met hers making her heart skip a beat. Her heart beat accelerated and she could feel herself going cold .

He stood up straight and started walking towards them making her eyes to avoid his gaze. His gaze was so stern and intense that it made her feel so timid and tiny .

Upon reaching close , he stood next to Eloise , his tall bulky figure towering her making her lower her gaze .

“ lets start the ceremony “

Her family and friends stood next to her while Mateo stood beside her , facing her. All of a sudden , her eyes fell to the beautiful diamond ring with a green heart shaped stone in the middle , shining brightly , resembling her eyes.

Mateo held her hand and smiled making her shyly smile back too as Mateo slowly slid the gorgeous ring onto her finger making her feel so emotional at the moment. She was getting engaged to the person , she loved and it was something that wouldn’t happen to anyone.

Her father handed her a beautiful thick diamond band making her smile , proud of her father’s choice before slowly sliding the band onto his finger as everyone cheered , clapping loudly as Mateo pulled her in a hug making her smile and hug back .

It was the perfect evening for her with her perfect life partner. The man she prayed to be with and imagined her night with.

Everyone congratulated the couple as Evelyn’s sisters and friends pulled her in an excited hug. She got so engrossed in taking pictures with her sisters and friends that she did not notice ………… Dominic walking out of there. Eloise joined the group of girls , taking pictures when all of a sudden , they heard a loud voice , taking everyone’s attention.

The owner of the voice took Mateo’s name which made Evelyn’s ears to perk up.

The owner of the voice was …………… Jessica . One of the popular girl of her campus and somewhat her ………… competition too. Evelyn’s eyes met hers who was dressed up in a black short skirt with a black tight off shoulder crop top . Her blonde hairs tied up in a pony tail. Looking at the girl , made Evelyn sick. She was never on good terms withs with Jesica.

“ what the fuck are you doing , Mateo “

She shouter at Mateo. She was behaving as if she was so close to Mateo which made Evelyn to frown. Sam scrunched her eyebrows and looked at Evelyn who had a confusing yet agonizing look on her face. Her fists clenched as she looked at Mateo only to see is face pale.

“ why are you here , Jessica ? “

Lilah stepped forward asking Jessica , wanting her to leave only for Jessica to scoff and look at Mateo in the eyes.

“ why can’t i be at my boyfriend’s engagement ? “

Everyone eyes widened hearing those words. Evelyn felt as if someone wrapped her heart apart. She looked towards Mateo who was staring at Jessica before looking at Evelyn who had her fists clenched.

“ he is my boyfriend “

Evelyn fought back , ready to throw hands on Jessica only to be held back by Mateo. Evelyn’s eyes met his as she sensed his silence and felt her heart pounding at an animalistic pace.

“ will you tell Mateo or should i ? “

Jessica warned Mateo as Angelina quickly held Mateo’s arm , asking him what was this all about? Who Jessica really was to create a drama on his special day.

Mateo had his head hung low and kept quiet as Jessica chuckled.

“ I knew it. He wouldn’t tell you that’s why i am here “

Ethan stepped forward standing next to Evelyn , ready to throw hands on Mateo. Her father clenched his fists but was held back by Mathew who was as confused as the others.

“ who are you , girl ? “

Mathew’s loud voice startled everyone as he questioned Jessica which made her smile.

“ i am Jessica , your son’s unborn child’s mother “

As soon as she spoke those words , Evelyn felt like she was stabbed in the heart. Her hands trembled as the bouquet fell on the ground , getting crushed under Ethan’s feet as he stepped forward to hold his sister.

“ he has been sleeping with me for months now “

Evelyn’s father closed his eyes , ready to throw hands on Mateo but stopped when Evelyn’s action shocked everyone. She stepped forward , sliding the ring off of her finger before throwing it on Mateo’s face.

He tried to speak only to get shut by a hard slap on his cheek by Evelyn’s father . He slapped him so hard that Mateo Stumbled back a few steps making everyone to gasp.

“ Evelyn “

Angelina tried to talk to her only for Evelyn’s mother to stop her by placing her hand forward making Angelina to keep quiet.

“ i need to be alone “

Saying that , she stepped on the bouquet of flowers , crushing the flowers under her shoes mercilessly before walking out of there. As soon as she vanished from their eyes , she let her tears fall. A painful sob escaped her lips. Seconds before , she was all smiling and giggling , happy of their decision of getting engaged and now ………

She placed her back against the wall , covering her mouth to not let anyone hear her sobs making her cry hard . Her eyes squeezed shut as she sniffed. Her makeup getting ruined but she did not care. The pain she was feeling was brutal and exhausting .

All of a sudden, she felt a presence near her and a gasp escaped her lips. As soon as she opened her eyes , she noticed the same bulky body towering her making her look up at him with her glistening orbs. Seeing him made her remember what he said that she shouldn’t hide anything and here she was , getting a betrayal from her very own boyfriend whom she loved so freaking much.

All of a sudden , she felt his hand on her waist , snaking around her tiny tummy before pulling her on her toes to match his face level. A gasp escaped her lips as her hands clenched onto his biceps , scared by the closeness between them.

His other hand softly caressed her now red lips and looked at her in the eyes . She blinked softly , a few tears sliding down her cheek in process as a loud whimper escaped her lips when he placed …… his luscious lips on her jaw near her lips , making her breath to use him .

Saying that , he lowered himself on her lips , embracing them.
