Chapter 58

Michel couldn't bear to talk to anyone after Mr. Aiden.

He needs something to still give him hope.

Just anything can get him there and convince him he'll manage to get her back.

He doesn't know why or how, but somehow he finds himself standing in the middle of Fanny's room, staring ahead as the pressure in his chest continues to mount, invasive and painful twisting everything inside of him.

The room looks the same.

Nothing seemed out of place as if she was still living with them, her clothes and scent still lingering everywhere.

He ran his hand through a few things, traced the spines of some of her books and bed sheets, without thinking twice, opened the nightstand drawer, immediately facing a folded piece of paper with his name on it.

His heart stopped when he saw it, realizing that she had to write this before she left.

Frantically, and with a gasp, he took the paper and unfolded it without hesitation.
