Mariana Adams' Point of View

Present time…

My brain couldn't process his spontaneous decision. We didn't see each other for days as I was imprisoned within the room. Even if he stated I wouldn't eat unless he said so, I refused to listen to him and instead sneaked out of my room and went into the kitchen.

As I stood on the balcony, I took a deep breath and peered out the window. I couldn't remember the name of this place but it was located near the shore and the mansion was just beside the calming sea.

"Miss Mariana," Beth called my name. She's the only housekeeper here who does the chores often.

I veered around and saw her.

"Why did you come out of your room? Boss said you can't go out yet without his permission."

I rolled my eyes in the ears before tugging the strands of my hair at the back of my ears caused by the wind.

"But he's not around." I spat out.

Beth took a deep breath and grabbed my hand. "Let's go back inside your room, Miss Mariana."

"It's boring inside!"

It's true. I was imprisoned inside the room for three days after their boss and I discussed as I was his slave. I nearly went insane all day worrying about things and couldn't sleep, resulting in large blotches beneath my eyes.

What he offered was ridiculous. According to the papers, I must follow him or else, I may put myself in danger. Yet, I don't trust those things written on it. It's hard to kill people nowadays especially when you're in a judgemental society.

Perhaps, he won't kill me. I'm sure of it. I will try to find a way and to my best to escape.

"Just come back, Miss Mariana. I had something more to tell you."

Beth successfully pursued me coming back inside my room. Unfortunately, the room where I got locked was the same room as where I was right now. I have been locked inside for three days until their boss said I could now come out and strode around the area.

I was sitting down on the bed, waiting for what Beth has to say when she took out her phone when it rang.

"The boss told me to keep an eye on you whilst you were here. Now that you're free to wander around the mansion, let me tell you some rules you have to obey."

My eyebrows arched. "And what are the rules?"

"First, you are allowed to wander around the mansion but there are places you can't go. The boss' room was next to yours and you can't come inside without his permission. Second, you're not allowed to use phones until he say so. Wait for him to give you one with a wiretapped device. Last—"

"Wiretapped device? Hello! I need a phone and wiretapping is a form of crime! It's invading a person's privacy!"

Beth's eyebrows twitched. "But I was told you were bought. Therefore, he owns you and you have to obey what he has to say, Miss Mariana. Besides, it could keep you alive if you kept on following our boss' orders."

I crossed my arms and stood up. "Hah! Do you think I will let him command me? I won't! Let your boss knew that I refuse to be his pet—"

"Alright, then. People tend to refuse my boss' orders was most likely killed. Should I call him now and ask what kind of weapon are we going to use to—"

I halted Beth from speaking as my eyes widened on what she said. Ares told me the same thing, he said he will kill me if I have no purpose to him. I admit, I somehow want to believe but my inner me says I shouldn't and he was just bluffing.

I groaned hard, turned around as I sat down on the bed without looking at Beth.

"Lastly, the boss said both of you will have to attend a ball earlier. You will need to accompany him. He will come home later at 8 in the evening to fetch you so you better get ready before he comes. He doesn't like someone who's slow."

Beth told me a lot of things I should follow. She said, their boss was absent due to things he had to take care off in his workplace. She showed me a dress I will be going to wear later at night and it was a maroon off-shoulder gown with a slit on my right leg.

Time flies so fast, and I am now ready. I didn't bother going out all day but instead, I was thinking of a way to escape from him. Today is my chance. I will be accompanying him to a ball and all I had to do is find a way, the exact time to slip away.

I can't stand Ares. I won't allow him to make me his pet, to serve him. After all, I have no idea of what kind of a person he was. Not to mention that the whole mansion was filled with men wearing a black clothes, standing in every corner of the house as if they were some sort of robots.

Beth assisted me to fix myself and I was shocked that she knows how to make a woman pretty. Whilst I was standing in front of a huge mirror, I noticed that my curves became evident due to the gown I was wearing and my legs stood out because of its slit.

Honestly speaking, I can't recognize myself due to my sudden transformation.

"You look magnificent, Miss Mariana!" she said as she clapped her hands.

I sneered. "Tss. My grandmother often tells me that before."

Beth only smirked as she began to put the jewelries arrived earlier along with the gown I was going to wear. When the time comes, Beth called me saying that the boss was already here. She was smiling at me wide, cheering as if I have a huge role for tonight's event.

As soon as I get inside, I swiftly smelled his manly scent and even saw him with a cleancut compared to the last time we've seen each other.

"Listen, Mariana," he spoke out my name huskily. "We're going to an event that is a very important one to me. Many people will be attending and I want you to behave, do you understand?"

I don't know… I had the courage to talk back at him without his presence but the strength I had earlier now that I'm now in front of him vanished.

I bit my lower lip and nodded my head without looking at him.

"These are the rules you have to do while you're with me. First, you smile at everyone you're going to meet. Second, you can't sit down nor even slip away from my arms until I say so. Third, you can't speak until I allow you to. Lastly, you're not allowed to escape. But if you tried, a certain punishment will be given or worse, I might perform something else, disregarding that I wasted millions just to buy you. I hope I made myself clear, Mariana. I don't want to repeat these things again."

Ares didn't ask me if I understood it but he just concluded I did. Regardless, I still need to follow his rules or else, I won't execute my escape plan later when I have the chance. However, the last rule he had said was making me doubt the things that I can do.

But nevermind, I want to escape. All I had to do was to follow what he said and not to infuriate him. When we got inside the venue, many businessmen began talking with Ares. I was trying my best to act foolishly, smiling to everyone he spoke with.

"I would love to know the girl's name beside you, Ares," a man who was holding a glass of wine stares at me in a negative way.

Ares drifted his eyes on me before speaking. "I'm afraid I have no time for an introduction with you, Gaspar. Excuse us…"

The man was left dumbfounded. After the man named Gaspar, another set of people comes and get Ares' attention until we are now settled on a table along with other business people.

I was just silently eating whilst all of them were formally talking with each other as trains of thoughts were passing through my mind. My foot got hurt, countless people would like to speak with him until Ares decided to settle down.

"Can I come inside the bathroom? I need to pee…" I whispered to Ares, enough for him to hear.

Instead of allowing me to come out, Ares only gave me his deadly glare.

"Please?" I begged, acting like it's urgent.

He closed his eyes and then sighed heavily. "Go. Just be sure to hurry."

I quickly stood up on my seat and found the way to go out. A few guards were coming along behind me until my foot began to walk swiftly. In just a couple of seconds, I lost the two guards who were following me before I halted outside the venue, sighed in relief.

Nevertheless, I shouldn't become relieved when I'm still near them. I came out of the main venue and suddenly, the guards saw me escaping so they hurried on coming after me.

I thought that I lost them already, but I was wrong. When I was successfully on the ground floor, my eyes were still on my back until my foot set outside the main entrance.

I continued to run away, I was already near the exit when I bumped into someone. When I hoisted my gazes around, Ares' fuming mad eyes greeted me.

"Were you trying to run away, Mariana?" his resonant baritone voice thundered.

Mariana Adams' Point of ViewI had been inside my room for a while, doing nothing more than relaxing, when for some reason I got the idea to call Ares. To tell you the truth, I was merely attempting to call him so that I could fill him in on what had transpired today and let him know that I had seen Lorenzo. Ares' phone rang a few times, and then he picked it up and pretended he wasn't busy when he answered it. "Hey, he seems to have a bit of pep in his step." "Did something take place?" he queried. While I was supine on my bed, I pursed my lips into a pout. "Nothing, baby. I just got off the phone with you…""Have you been thinking about me already? I warned you that you shouldn't go, and you should have just stayed—" I got him to back off by laughing a little bit first. "Oh, love, you're just too much. Put an end to your ruminating. I'm doing well, and I wanted to let you know that I phoned because I'm aware of how much you adore me.""That is, to some extent, true. Now, tell me,

After they had finished shouting in unison, "Let's pay for it!" she came over to me and greeted me with a friendly smile.I got up to speak, and after that I gave the remarks I had prepared. "Is there nothing else besides this that you are interested in purchasing? Do you not have anything else that you would like to purchase?"I'm starting to feel pretty worn out, and I can't wait to get back to my house and take a nap. What do you say? Should we go ahead and do that? Nothing! Let's put that behind us and head out to the store to pick up some provisions. I'm starting to feel pretty worn out, and I can't wait to get back to my house and take a nap."I took my cousin's hand as we made our way toward the register, and after a moment I leaned my head back and rested it on her shoulders. After that, we were very close to our destination! I was successful in completing each of these steps. You shouldn't be too concerned because I will be spending some time with you in this location; is tha

Mariana Adams' Point of ViewI told her that I would give her the yellow dress that I had seen hanging outside of the store, and I told her that I would give it to her for free. She asked me why she should try it, and I told her, "Why don't you give it a shot?"Despite the fact that this was a store that specialized in selling clothing at low prices, it is abundantly clear that each and every item in this shop is of an exceptionally high standard. When Ares purchased a large quantity of clothing for me from a variety of different fashion brands, I requested that he purchase clothing for me from each of those brands. When I saw how well preserved all of these garments are, I couldn't help but reflect on how unlucky it is for me to be in the position that I am.She made some inquiries about it, and one of the questions she asked was, "Mariana, are you one hundred percent sure that you're going to buy each and every one of the items that I'll put into my shopping cart?" Her tone communic

Mariana Adams' Point of ViewIt should not have come as a surprise that Fatima did not confirm anything. Fatima did not get in the taxi with us until after we had already left this location; however, she did not stop walking alongside me during this time. In other words, she did not get in the taxi with us until after we had already left this location. On the other hand, whenever I tried to think about something else, my mind kept going back to the car that was parked outside so close to our apartment building. When I looked in the rearview mirror and saw the man's face, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that it was Emman because I had seen him before. I had recognized him immediately. He was hidden from the view of the general public. My cousin and I have been talking, and ever since I walked in the door, our mutual cousin has been standing outside the house. We are in a terrible position, but we have no choice but to get out of the house right away because we have commitments elsew

Mariana Adams’ Point of View When I got back to Italy, I went grocery shopping so that Fatima wouldn't form any incorrect assumptions about anything, and I also took advantage of the opportunity to catch up on some reading. Because I do not intend to put any of the things that I purchased during that time period to use, I came to the conclusion that the best course of action would be to give the clothing to her rather than keep it in my closet. Ares gave me an enormous cabinet and stocked it with clothing that he had specifically purchased for me and placed inside the cabinet. He also provided me with the cabinet itself. If I'm being entirely truthful with you, I have a thing for fashion, but I'm not particularly obsessed with collecting things at all.She yelled after Fatima, "Good heavens, Fatima! Have I not previously instructed you to get rid of all of these outdated and worn-out items of clothing? I have only just now brought up the fact that we are currently situated within her

  • Mafia's Bidding    Chapter 79: Seeing Her Again

Mariana Adams' Point of ViewEverything brings back fond memories. The door to our flat had a crack in it when we got home. I could even remember how I constantly tell Fatima to close it whenever she comes or when she returns. I could say that whenever she comes or when she returns. Depending on how you look at it, today's opening could have been either of the two. The entirety of our apartment is filled with an eerie quiet that I haven't experienced in quite some time. Ares fled as soon as he caught sight of me approaching the building through the gate. I wasn't sure if Fatima was here, but looking at the calendar and seeing that it's a school day, I'm guessing she left for class. The fact that the gate was opened all the way, though, is what has left me feeling even more dumbfounded. When I saw the door, I instinctively bit the lower part of my lip. Our grandma used to greet us at the door each time we went to school and wait for us outside until we left; however, she is not ther
