Amaira's POV

As we were about to get into the car, John screamed at the top of his lungs, startling me and my mom at our respective spots.

"DAD!"

Our heads jerked in the direction of John, and our gazes followed the path of his gaze. As soon as we spotted the person at whom he was staring, the ground beneath us slid, our heads started spinning and our bodies froze in place. My mother had lost her balance and was about to fall, but I caught her just in time and assisted her in standing on her own.

"Anthony!" ... "Dad!" I and mother whispered at the same time. As we were standing really close so we could hear each other.

Our feet began to move in the direction of the man standing on the opposite side of the road, to ensure that it was indeed our father and that we were not delusory.
