LOGINCatherine:
It took me another half hour before I finally stepped out of the room, my knees barely holding me, and I couldn’t even take one steady step downstairs.
“My favorite new girl!” The old lady said. She was standing at the reception, her makeup was different from last night, and the smile that was covering her face made me realize she got a nice payment because of me, or else why would she call me her favorite new girl?
“If you need a shower, new clothes...” She started, but I shot her one deadly glare, making her smile vanishing.
“Someone is grumpy” She stopped chewing gum then started walking toward me all of a sudden.
“Why didn’t you stop it? You knew I was drunk!” I said, on the verge of tears. She opened her mouth to say something, but I only walked past her, not giving her the slightest chance to defend herself.
I could hear her cursing under her breath, but all I did was pointing my middle finger toward her without turning around to look at her face.
I just couldn’t believe there’s actually horrible women who are willing to sacrifice other women!
My feet dragged me outside the dirty place, the place where I lost my virginity at, and the place where it cost me everything!
I tightened my grip around my little purse, as if the money inside it would fly away. I wondered if that amount would save my mother, and pay the huge bills waiting for me.
I reached for my phone to call the hospital and ask about my mother, but I was shocked to see that my phone died. My eyes almost popped out of their sockets as if that could be the end of the world. What if they called me again and couldn’t reach for me? What if something bad happened to my mother? My chest tightened at the thought.
I froze, my eyes scanning the empty, calm street for any cab, but it was too early to even find any cab.
After ten minutes of running, I finally managed to catch a cab and head straight to the hospital, praying and hoping I wasn't late, that my mother was awake from her surgery, and that she survived.
As soon as the cab stopped in front of the hospital's grand entrance, I opened the door and jumped out, not even thinking I had time to pay the driver. “Can you please wait here?” I pleaded, and he simply nodded in understanding.
My feet carried me inside the hospital, heading straight to the lady at the reception, grabbing the money from my purse, I didn't hesitate for a moment to throw them on the counter.
“Miss…please…” She started to calm me, but I didn't even listen to her.
“It’s Catherine Moretti, my mother is a patient here, and they told me she needs an urgent surgery” I explained to her. I gave her the information and watched her as she started typing on the computer.
“It says here you still didn’t pay…” She said, but I glanced toward the money on the counter, making her realize I was already ready to pay.
“Here” I pointed to the money on the counter, “We owe you three thousand…but after last night's surgery, the total will be nine thousand” She said, her eyes still fixed on the computer screen..
I counted the money to realize it wasn't only enough for paying the bills, but to cover all our debts…Seriously, who was that guy? I was starting to think I might've slept with the president’s son.
My eyes were staring at the void for a few moments before realizing that the receptionist was still waiting for me to pay.
After I paid, the receptionist provided me with more information, such as where I could possibly find my mother and what floor her surgery was on.
I sat on the bench outside and started to wait impatiently, worry was eating me alive as I kept replaying last night. I cover my face and I suddenly remember his black features, his dark eyes staring down at me.
I gulped nervously, what the fuck was happening to me? Why couldn’t I just let this go? It’s just a one night thing, he probably lived in Italy and he was just a tourist, I was a bit relieved when I thought our paths would never cross again.
Then why was I still thinking about it? I ran my fingers through my hair, shaking the stupid memories away.
It wasn’t a big deal…I continued to convince myself, but it still didn't feel right. That’s why last night was going to be my secret, a secret no one would ever find out about.
My eye suddenly spotted a strange guy from afar, wearing black and holding his phone. That was not even the weirdest part, because he was staring at me, and once my eyes caught him looking, he all of a sudden turned his head to the opposite direction, avoiding looking at me.
I frowned, and I suddenly started to stand from the bench, my feet driving me toward him. “Are you following me?” I shot before I even got closer to him.
The guy froze for a few seconds before he handed me the phone. “It’s for you…” He said, a serious look on his face. I hesitated for a moment before reaching out for the phone.
I placed the phone on my ear, but once I did, my heart throbbed, and my eyes widened. I froze at my spot. “My sweet daughter…” His voice sent terror in me as I started to breathe heavily.
“What do you want?” I freaked out, but I kept my voice cold and sharp.
“You’re my daughter, what could I possibly want?” His voice was all of a sudden soft, but I didn't buy it, he definitely wanted something.
“Stop stalking me, I’m no longer your daughter…” I reminded him.
“Running away doesn’t change the fact I’m your father, accept that!” He yelled over the phone, but I took a deep breath, calming myself.
“We don’t need you, not anymore!” I said, but he laughed once he heard my words.
“We’ll see about that” His threatening tone made me even angrier, which made me throw the phone hard to the ground and watch it shatter into pieces.
As soon as I looked around me, I was surprised to see the guy who just gave me the phone had already disappeared, leaving me by myself.
Just as I was about to sit back on the bench, I watched the doctor stepping out of the surgery room, his pale face already telling me the bad news.
“Doctor, how was the surgery?” I ran to him, but he shook head silently, making my frown deepen.
“I’m sorry, we did our best, but we couldn't save her” The doctor said the words, leaving me frozen on the same spot, still couldn’t process his words. What does he mean?
My knees couldn’t hold me anymore, my whole body was all of a sudden sliding on the floor, a few tears falling down as I was still denying the ugly truth. The fact that my mother left, she couldn’t make it, she didn’t survive! The only person that’s left for me, she's gone…
Catherine:I stepped inside my room, the tears I’d fought back for days were running down my cheeks as soon as I closed the door shut.I let out a loud sigh, sobbing and crying even harder…Why was he here? Why did he come and play with my feelings like that if he was going to reject me?I was still confused and shocked by his reaction.I bet it was because of what my father did to him today. That was it! I opened my eyes as I realized I had no other choice but to leave this whole place. But go where? I was so heartbroken that I didn’t even care about that.I just knew that I should stay away from this guy.He was toxic, cruel and a trouble!I was about to run outside my room, but something black on my bed caught my attention.I frowned, wiping the tears away and headed to my bed.I held the gun in my hand, then stared toward the door.I didn’t care where this would lead me, or who I might end up hurting by the end of the night. I was only sure about one thing. I wanted to leave, for g
Nico:She just left…But it wasn’t her fault, was it?The news I just got from Alfie, she had no hand in all of that! She didn’t even know what Alfie was doing here, or why I was sad and upset all of a sudden. It all started the other day when I ordered Alfie to watch us from afar.I was so sure that we’d be able to get to the people who they’ve been trying to get into our business, saving us and knew more than I did!Tonight, Alfie brought me the information I needed to know. But to my shock, I saw her again…After twenty years of vanishing, she was still alive!I spent twenty years not only thinking about her, but also blaming myself that she died because of me! Because she was trying to protect me!It was crazy, I couldn’t see anything in front of me but her face…My eyes closed shut as the memories from twenty years ago flashed back…_______Flashback______I was in the kitchen, sitting with my mother…“I’ve made you pancakes” She smiled softly as she poured strawberry sirop on my p
Catherine:I couldn’t sleep at all…It was the longest night in my life.My head was about to explode from all the thoughts, the doubts and the confusion.First, I got pregnant by my father’s enemy…Then I discovered the strong feelings I felt for him! And not only physically! Then, I figured out that the same guy wanted to give me back to my father, because he wanted his sister back! Was I going to die? Was that the way I was going to vanish from this life?It was almost five in the morning, and it was still dark.I was so tired from staring at the void, giving up to sleep, I let my eyes close for a second and once I opened them, I found his dark eyes staring down at me. I almost jumped in my spot as I was still sitting on my bed.“What are you doing here? Are you here to end this?” I stood immediately, taking a step toward the door as he watched me with a surprised look on his face.He sighed then walked calmly toward my bed and sat right where I was sitting.“You think I’m going to
Catherine:“Stay the fuck away from HER!” Nico was all of a sudden right beside me, his hand all of a sudden grabbing me by my wrist and pulling me away from shocked Enzo.“I thought we could trust you, but here you are, using your charm to fool her and make her escape with you” Nico then let go of my wrist then held Enzo by the collar.“You think I want to escape?” Enzo chuckled.Nico narrowed his eyes at him, but still gritting his teeth out of frustration.I frowned, clutching my chest as I watched them both tearing each other with those deadly; cold stares.“You think I want to go back to him? To the man who wants me dead?” Enzo wasn’t asking, he was surprised that Nico wasn’t being realistic.“Then how come you’re still alive until now? Why didn’t he kill you when he got the chance? We both know the guy! He is not that merciful nor blind to mess the target” He then paused, staring back at me, as if he was being careful choosing his words since the guy they were talking about was
Catherine:Nico paused, putting Ellen down to her feet just like she asked.“I’ll be fine” She repeated after their eyes met.Ellen then turned to look at me, “But she has to be more careful! I don’t want to lose my baby like you did” Her words cut deeper than a knife.I gulped, my lips parted and I took a step forward. I couldn’t take it anymore…But Nico interrupted me. “Come on, you need to lie down” He held her arm and led her upstairs, without even bothering to look at me.I sighed then started to clean the mess. But all of a sudden, Enzo walked in. “I think you need help” He smiled softly at me.I shook my head, “Really? Says the guy who needed me to cut his steak for him” I teased, but he all of sudden took a closer step toward me.I froze when his hand held mine, his eyes staring down at me.“Maybe this guy was just pretending because he messes eating from these beautiful hands” He raised my hand then planted a kiss on it.I stared at him in shock. Where the hell did that come
Catherine:We were all gathered around the table, having dinner…It’s been two days since we got into this place, Malcolm and Brielle’s house.“The food is great, thank you” I smiled at Brielle who seemed happy hearing my compliment.“I can’t eat this, it smells like garlic and onions.” we snapped our heads toward Ellen who was sitting next to Nico, as usual…Bri’s eyes twitched, but Malcolm motioned for her to stay calm.Nico shot Ellen a bored look then said. “It’s delicious, here you can taste it if you like” once he offered for her, she instantly nodded.Nico grabbed her fork and started to cut the steak for her, feeding her as she opened up her mouth.I rolled my eyes then stared at my plate.“Aren’t you going to help me?” he pointed to his uncut steak.I smiled then nodded at him.I started to cut it for him, but when he cleared his throat I looked up at him questioningly.“I can’t eat on my own” He smirked.I shook my head, grinning widely at that.I started to feed him, “I’m t
Catherine:“Where are we?” I frowned, stepping off the motorcycle moments after Nico did.We were outside a huge building in the middle of the city, in the middle of the night.“Follow me” said Nico before he continued to make his way toward the grand entrance.I shook my head as I sighed, hoping w
Catherine:Nico’s eyes were staring down at me, scanning me, or maybe studying me…I didn’t look away. I was getting tired of his games and tricks. He treated me wrong from the beginning…Moments ago I was ready to look into his eyes and ask him why he killed her, why did he do it? Why did he hurt
Nico:“Are you sure? I mean, cameras don’t show anything” Malcolm said.I shook my head, “I’m sure that someone was trying to help her escape that night!” “But you said you didn’t see what he looked like.” Malcolm turned to look at the screen for the hundredth time.“It’s true, the moment I woke u
Catherine:I woke up feeling so tired from last night, but was shocked to see it was dark.I sat on my bed instantly, my ears hearing the noise from outside.“What the hell was that?” I muttered, rubbing my eyes before jumping out of my bed.“You had no right to tell him” I heard Nico yelling.I fr
