Hunter's pov 

I sighed before turning to Mikael. "If someone were to hit Lilith won't you react, fight for her or..."

Xander interrupted with a raised tone. "Lilith is his mate! There's a big difference." 

"I wasn't talking to you!" I pulled out my gun, pointing it at Xander whose seat was facing me.

"Enough!" Father shouted, making everyone's attention to focus on him."I called for a peaceful dinner but look what it's turning into, a family debate!" He sighed with his head lowered and that was when I took the opportunity to stand up, putting my gun away so father won't be offended.

"Where are you going?" His lowered head was ready raised and I could see disapproval in his expression.

"If Xander is going to keep on talking shit to me then I'm not hungry anymore." I was about to take a step when dad's gun pointed to the back of my head.

"Sit." He stated. I knew his hand was on the trigger but I never felt any fear.

"You should know dad that I no longer fear death." With that, I made my way to my room with my hands in my pocket.

Iesha's Pov

My sobbing stopped when I saw him putting the syringe back into the safe. The fear in my heart had begun to fade until I heard his cold voice again. It was like his voice had the ability to instil fear in people.

"I'll send the servant to take care of you." Those were his only words before he stepped out. Not too long after, a young girl came in. She had black hair, a petite figure, and she seemed like someone my age.

"I'll prepare your bath." She said with fear before rushing into the bathroom like I was some news.

Why not, when a slave master was killed on my behalf. I sighed, waiting for what would happen next.

"I was ordered to release you but my advice to you is that you comply. If you go against his orders, you could end up like the slave master earlier today. These are your clothes." She pointed to a nice pink dress on the bed."You can wear them after you bathe but I want you to help me out. Don't try anything funny, I'm an only child and my mother wouldn't survive my loss."

I knew what she was driving at so I just nodded as I watched her unshackle me.

"Thank you." I spoke when she finally freed me.

"Hmm… follow me." She was smiling sweetly and I got really scared because in the slave shelter, when someone smiled at you like this, it only meant one thing. You weren't safe.

"Here we are, you have to undress and get into the bathtub." She pulled me out of my thoughts and reality wowed me.

"What's that?" I pointed to the white hug bowl, at least that was what I thought it was.

"A bathtub, you bathe in it. Haven't you ever seen it before?" I shook my head negatively to her question.

"Let's get you ready before your master gets back." She helped me into the bath tub that was already filled with warm water and gave me a nice bath. I was shy but since this was my master's orders, I couldn't go against it.

After the bath, she told me to wait for her till she cleared the bath, however I told her I could take care of myself. Surprisingly, she agreed and when I saw that her attention was divided, I put on the pink dress and dashed out of the room.

I ran through the hallway, my eyes darted around and I often looked back to see if the girl was chasing after me. In the process of running, I slammed my face on something hard.

I slowly raised my head and instantly lowered my gaze when I saw who it was.

"Where are you going?" His neutral gaze was on me.

"Nowhere master, I just…" before I could complete my statement, he grabbed me by the waist and in no time lifted me up in his arms.

"You're stubborn." He murmured, however, I didn't dare look at him as he carried me on his shoulder. Few moments later, the short silent walk from the hallway finally ended. I saw myself in the same room I had tried to escape from and a frustrated sigh left my lips.

"What was that?" He responded to my sigh, going back to that safe from earlier. As he opened the safe, my eyes trailed his every move while I hoped my punishment wouldn't be with the syringe. I heard from a girl in the slave house that it hurt badly.

"You're scared again aren't you?" He moved closer to my side with the syringe in his hands.

"This isn't for you."

As soon as he said that, my pounding heart settled. I didn't know why but I trusted my master more than anyone I had ever met.

"I know you must be wondering why…" he stabbed his arm with the syringe causing me to gasp as I reached out to him.

"Master!" I called out with widened eyes while my trembling hand held his, trying to prevent him from injecting but he pushed the yellow substance into his system.

"Don't worry I'll be fine." He inched closer to me and as if knowing I was going to lower my head, he raised my chin so I could gaze into his red eyes.

"You need to rest." My throat gagged and my breath got stuck in my throat.

"Yes master." I began making my way out of the bed but he pinned me down.

"You're not going anywhere, tonight you're staying with me." He was wearing a smirk, his red eyes scanning my body through the pink dress he bought me.

"Was it the effect of the drugs, did he take that to loosen up?" I thought with a hint of worry.
