Gabriella's Pov

Steam curled around me, the warm mist pressing against my skin as I knelt by the side of the porcelain tub. The soft scent of lavender mixed with the sharp tang of antiseptic, but it did little to mask the bitter sting in the air, fear, helplessness, and pain. My trembling fingers ran the damp cloth gently over Alessio’s bruised shoulder, the ugly purple and green marks standing out against his pale skin.

"Stop crying, Gabriella," his voice was a strained whisper, but it carried a firmness that always seemed to calm me.

I tried to obey, biting down on my lower lip until I tasted copper. But the tears came anyway, hot and silent, tracing down my cheeks. I couldn't help it. Not when every bruise, every welt, was a testament to his suffering. Because of me.

His fingers found mine, gripping them weakly, the wet heat of his skin making my heart ache. I forced a smile, but it faltered, cracking like thin ice over a river. "I’m sorry. I can’t... I can’t stand seeing you like

Alessio's PovMy body protested with every step, a dull ache radiating from the wounds I had yet to fully recover from. I hated it, the vulnerability, the reliance on someone else. Gabriella walked beside me, her hand just inches away, ready to catch me if I stumbled. I gritted my teeth, pushing back the humiliation. As we reached the base of the stairs, Carlo stood waiting, his expression unreadable. He straightened the moment he saw me, his sharp gaze flicking to Gabriella before settling back on me."We need to talk. Privately," Carlo's voice was a low rumble, betraying none of the urgency I sensed beneath it.I turned to Gabriella, forcing a tight smile. "I'll be fine," I said, waving off her worried look. I didn’t miss the brief hesitation in her eyes, but she nodded, stepping away.Outside, the chill air gnawed at my wounds, but I squared my shoulders, refusing to show any weakness before Carlo. He led me to the far end of the courtyard, away from prying ears. The moonlight cast

  • Mafia's Sinful Bride    Bruised but Here

Gabrella’s Pov I watched Alessio slip into the night, his figure swallowed by shadows as he trailed Victor and the stranger. Panic clawed at my chest, every second stretching painfully. Why was he risking himself for me?My fingers tightened around the edge of the car seat as Carlo pulled up, his stern face barely softening when he saw me. He stepped out, opening the back door, but I didn't rush into it. Instead, I stared down the path Alessio had disappeared into."Gabriella," Carlo’s voice was steady, a forced calm masking the tension in his eyes. "Get in.""But Alessio…." My voice cracked, betraying the fear twisting inside me."We can't wait here. It's too dangerous," he insisted, and his hand landed on my shoulder, trying to steer me into the car."Is he... will he be okay?" I whispered, refusing to move, my gaze fixed on the darkness."I don't know," Carlo muttered, barely audible, and that single sentence shattered me. I wanted to scream, to demand that we stay, to force him t

Alessio's Pov The soft clinking of cutlery and the muted murmur of the restaurant buzzed around me, but all I could focus on was Gabriela’s smile. God, she looked stunning tonight. Her laughter was warm, and for a moment, everything else seemed to fade away. Then my phone vibrated against the polished wood of the table. I glanced down, Carlo. A slight frown tugged at my lips.“Give me a second, bella. I need to take this,” I said, pushing back my chair.“Of course,” she replied, her voice gentle, a hint of curiosity in her gaze.Stepping outside, I answered. "Carlo, what is it?""Alessio, where are you?" His tone was sharp, almost panicked."Took Gabriela out for dinner. What’s wrong?" A prickle of unease crawled up my spine."We have a problem. Your car, it has a tracking device. We don’t know how it got there, but you’re being followed."My grip tightened around the phone. "Are you sure?""Positive. Get out of there. Now.""Shit." I didn't wait. I shoved the phone into my pocket an

Gabriella's Pov I woke to the warmth of Alessio’s arms around me, his steady breathing a comforting rhythm against my back. For a moment, I just lay there, my fingers tracing the veins on his arm, savoring the feeling I had once only dreamed of. His embrace felt like home, a promise I never thought I’d have. But eventually, reality tugged at me. Carefully, I shifted out of his hold, moving slowly so I wouldn’t wake him. The sheets rustled, but he didn’t stir. I slipped into the bathroom, closing the door with a quiet click.Under the hot stream of the shower, I let the water wash away the remnants of sleep. My fingers danced through the suds, and I scrubbed every inch of my skin, the heat waking me up entirely. My gaze fell to my legs, and I considered for a second. A faint smile played at my lips. Maybe a little shaving wouldn’t hurt. Just in case…Stepping out, I wrapped myself in a plush towel, steam swirling around me. I hesitated at the mirror, my cheeks warming as I caught sigh

  • Mafia's Sinful Bride    Trust and Lies

Gabriella’s PovI paced the room, my footsteps echoing against the polished marble floor. Every tick of the clock on the wall seemed to grow louder, a constant reminder of time slipping away. Where was Alessio? I knew it wasn’t a business meeting,I'd overheard his low, tense voice talking to Carlo. They mentioned something… something about his brother r. But why the secrecy?I dropped into the armchair, its plush cushions barely providing any comfort as my mind raced. My fingers twisted nervously in my lap, a storm of thoughts swirling within me. Was he in trouble? Had he found something? Or someone?A sudden knock on the door shattered the silence, and I jolted upright. The maid stepped in, her expression a careful mask of calm.“Ma’am,” she began, her voice polite but edged with urgency, “someone would like to see you downstairs.”“Who?” I asked, trying to keep the tremor out of my voice.“They didn’t give their name,” she replied. “But they insisted you may not know who they are, y

  • Mafia's Sinful Bride    Lucia's Fears

Alessio's Pov I stepped out of the car, feeling the cold breeze graze my cheek. Carlo stood beside me, his imposing figure silent but alert. The house loomed ahead, a modest bungalow, its white walls slightly faded, a touch of neglect showing around the edges. I took a deep breath and knocked, the sound sharp in the quiet street. The door swung open, revealing a woman in her late forties, with graying hair tied back neatly and a warm, if slightly cautious, smile."Good afternoon," she greeted, her voice gentle. "How can I help you?""Good afternoon, ma’am," I said, giving a polite nod. "I’m Alessio."Her eyes widened slightly. "Alessio? Oh, I’ve heard so much about you. Please, come in." She stepped aside, and I crossed the threshold, but Carlo stayed back, leaning against the car with a silent nod from me.The living room was cozy but cluttered, a mix of old family photos and a faint scent of lavender lingering in the air. Lucia gestured to a couch. "Please, have a seat. I’ll bring

  • Mafia's Sinful Bride    What Matters

Alessio's Pov I don’t remember the moment I stepped away from her. I just remember the way her words kept ringing in my head, louder than anything else in the world.Martini… is my father.I felt like I was choking on silence.Gabriela stood there, looking at me with those eyes that used to be the calm in my storm, and suddenly all I could see was betrayal. Not by her, but by the universe. By fate. By blood. She was his daughter. Martini’s. The man I trusted once, the man who raised me like his own, until I started seeing the cracks. The man who might’ve given my brother away. The man who might’ve orchestrated the downfall of everything I held dear. And now, the woman I loved… carried his blood.I felt sick.My fists clenched at my sides. Every part of me was wired with pain and fury. I wanted to scream. Break something. Maybe even cry, though God knows I forgot how a long time ago.But I didn’t do any of that.Instead, I looked at her. At Gabriela. She hadn’t moved. She stood there,

  • Mafia's Sinful Bride    His Brother, My Father

Gabriella's Pov After Mia left, the house fell into an eerie silence. I found Alessio standing alone by the balcony, staring out at nothing, his figure outlined by the soft evening light. His shoulders slumped slightly, and his hair fell over his forehead, unmoving even in the breeze. There was something heavy in the air around him, something I had felt before. He looked just like he did yesterday when he came back. I stepped forward quietly and slipped my arms around his waist from behind. He didn’t move. He didn’t speak.“It’s me,” I whispered against his back. “Gabriella.”“Okay.” he murmured absently. That hurt. More than I expected.I pulled back a little, enough to rest my chin against his shoulder. “You’ve been distant,” I murmured. “You don’t talk. You barely even look at me anymore. Alessio… is something wrong?”He didn’t respond. Just kept staring into the distance like I hadn’t said a word.“Please don’t shut me out,” I said, softer now. “Talk to me.”He finally exhaled,
