Malakai's POV

Two Weeks Later

I walked down the street as the cool afternoon breeze blew on my face. I held my sweater closer to me as I entered the diner while looking around and immediately spotted my sister. She smiled and waved me over to which I complied. I sat in front of her placing my phone and wallet on the table.

"It's been awhile since I've last saw you. 3 months to be exact. I missed you" I said to her smiling

"I missed you too but let's order first before we talk" She said to me. She called for a waitress then made our order. I got a sweet and sour chicken with fried rice along with a Mountain Dew.

When we got our food, the conversation flowed freely while we ate. We talked about my job and she was searching for one. I told her about a few places I know that are hiring but the only thing I'm not comfortable with is her moving into my apartment. There's an extra bedroom but she is really messy and gets offensive when you mention.

"As soon after I left New York, I met this guy name Timothy. He was really sweet and he gave me a place to say. I was working at a bar and things moved kinda fast with us. We slept together then I fell in love with him, he proposed soon after. I planned the wedding and everything was going really good" She said smiling then stabbed her pasta.

"You let a guy propose to you after meeting him? Where on earth do you see people getting married in the space of 3 months?" I asked her. Jesus Christ she's so reckless.

"Because he was sweet okay. It didn't work out because he fucked our neighbor in the  bed we share and I walked in on them. He wasn't even sorry because all he did was ask 'what was I still doing there'. I threw snow globe at him and a piece of glass stuck I'm his chest. Yes the bastard is still alive. Secondly the ring wasn't even real and he told me that I was non ambitious considering I was working but didn't do anything for myself. I'm 20, what did he expect?" She asked wiping her tears.

"You could have tried doing something for yourself Iesha. I mean mom and dad offered to send you to college, you refused. They got jobs for you to start you off and you refused that as well but you have to wake up to the real world. Things aren't easy anymore and moping around because of some guy who used you isn't gonna help. I am willing help you but you have to want the help for yourself. You are gonna move back in with mom and dad, find a job then get your own place" I said to her. She bit her lip and nodded.

"I am gonna be stripper. A girl recruited me about 20 minutes before you got here and I told her yes which means I'll make loads of money" She said to me

"And you're okay with that?" I asked her

"Yes. I mean I've sucked dick before and I'm no virgin either" She said shrugging which made me choke on my drink.

"That's sounds like prostitution. Listen okay, I'm your big brother and I'm not gonna act like I know what's best for you because I don't. What I do know is that I want you to be happy with your choice so if that's what you want, you do that" I said to her

"Thanks, so are you seeing anyone?" She asked me

"Well I decided to give Robert another chance again. Things were aren't moving forward and he still blames  me for our kid. The relationship is stressing be at work I'm so worried about what we will be arguing about. Also, I'm met another guy too. He had a daughter. Well recently I saw him with 2 little girl and he's nice actually" I said smiling as I thought about De'Andrae.

"The baby dying wasn't your fault okay. Don't let Robert make you feel guilty" She said to me.

"It would have been almost 5 years old now" I said as I felt myself about to cry.

"Yes but let's not worry about that now. We can't change the past but I wanna know how you met the other guy" She said digging in her food.

"He came to the doctor's office that I work at. His usual nurse is on sick leave so I had to attend to him and he seem nice. I went out with him and his daughters Sunday. We just talked and he didn't say anything about being gay or anything. He doesn't even give off the gay vibe either and I have fallen for straight guys before so I know how that will end. All I know is that it isn't a happy ending" I said to her

"Got a picture of what he looks like?" She asked me

"Yeah, we share socials" I said unlocking my phone and going to his I* page. I showed it to her and her eyes go wide when she looked up at me just as the bell to the diner rang.

"He's very, very sexy and handsome. Way taller than you" She said laughing nervously.

"What? Did you sleep with him?" I asked her

"I really wish I slept with him and had his baby. Oh Jesus he's fine as hell" She said avoiding my gaze and fanning herself.

"You're acting weird. What is it?" I asked her putting my fork down.

"Don't look but he's right behind you with said two little girls" She whispered

"What?" I said quietly

"He's in the booth behind you and they are about to order" She said to me

"I can look. It's not like we're enemies or anything, we're just friend" I said to her

"Do you like him romantically?" She asked me

"I mean yes. He's been a good guy towards me so far" I said to her

"He's with a female as well as the kids so maybe you shouldn't say anything" She said to me as my watch alarmed telling me I had 10 minutes remaining for lunch.

"I'm gonna go now. You're gonna be okay?" I asked her as I took out some money to pay for both our food and a tip.

"Yeah, but tonight I wanna have a support system at the club so you gotta come. I'll text you the address" She said as I stood up.

"I'll think about it" I said turning and slamming into a hard back.

"Gee watch where you going" The voice said. Definitely De'Andrae.

"I'm sorry. Thought you'd be sitting instead of standing" I said as he turned to face me.

"It's you. I was about to punch whoever in their face but never mind" He said smiling and licking his lips.

"Yeah, as I said I'm sorry. I gotta get back to work so see ya" I said feeling the female staring at me. My gaze caught hers and she gave me a disgusting look.

"I'll call you later. " He said to me

"Okay, later" I said walking pass him.

He was with maybe his kids mom or something. I mean I know I like him but I didn't know it was to the extent of getting jealous. Secondly, he was with a woman so he definitely isn't gay. How stupid of me to catch feelings for a guy I don't even know for 3 weeks.

I walked into my apartment closing the door behind me. I placed my bag down then fell onto the couch with a sigh. Today was hectic and now I am gonna have dinner, take a nap then go see what Iesha decided to do with herself. I don't support prostitution at all but she's an adult so I won't tell her what to do. All I can do is help her realize her mistake if she makes one.

Walking down the small hallway to my bedroom, I realized that De'Andrae hasn't called like he said he would.

I know it's just 7 pm but he said later. How later was he gonna call? I stripped throwing my scrubs in the hamper then hoped in the shower. I washed my body thoroughly then got out wrapping my towel around my waist.

I dried myself them walked to my drawer taking out a boxers and a tank top. There's no use putting on excessive clothing because I was gonna go to a club tonight. She claims it's a UniSex club which I didn't even care about. I'm not going there to be entertained, I am just going to be her support.

When I got dressed, I walked into my kitchen taking out some leftovers from the fridge heating it up. I grabbed my food and went to the front door locking it then flop down on the couch to watch a movie. Before I knew it, I was knocked out.
