Snow "Snow!" I shoot up from the bed. "Snow, where are you?" Sam calls. "I'm coming." I yell back. Why is there so much noise downstairs? I hurriedly throw on a nice dress, just in case there's a visitor, then I rush downstairs to see what's going on. Biscuit meets me on the staircase barking happily, I follow her into the living room. "I'm here." I say, panting. "Why are you breathing heavily?" Sam asks. "I was asleep when I heard you yelling my name so I thought there was something going on, then I ran down." I frown when Sam blinks at me and doesn't say anything. "Is something not going on?" I question her. "It's just me, that's all." Andre says from behind me. My eyes widen, then I slowly turn to face him. "Sam!" I whine. "I was having a good sleep and you screamed my name because Andre is back? I thought something was happening. I even got out of my comfy clothes and wore something nice in case there was a visitor or something." "But I'm a visitor." I glare at him. "What?
Cody "Ugh." I groan, my head pounding so hard that I feel like it's going to explode soon. I always say that I'll never get drunk again and end up getting drunk. Luckily, it's the weekend. I won't go to work today looking like a terrible mess. I slowly climb off my bed and walk to the bathroom to clean up. Immediately I step into my bathroom, I rush to the toilet and start throwing up into it. If Lee wasn't my brother, I'd kill him for getting us this drunk. But then I've said this a lot of times after getting drunk with him and I continue to do it. I throw my clothes into the laundry hamper and step into the shower. My movements are slow since my head is hurting so bad and I don't want to make the pain worse than it already is. After showering, I move slowly to my closet and slap on a sweatshirt and pants. Then I take in aspirin and decide to go back to bed. Entering my bedroom, I realise that Snow isn't sleeping on the bed. She probably slept in the living room or went back to he
Cody I have what you’re looking for. I read the text a few more times before realising that Kesha is saying that she has Biscuit with her. But how? Unless she broke in and took Biscuit with her. That’s breaking and entering, and kidnapping a puppy as well. “Cody? Is everything alright?” I look at Snow. If I tell her that Kesha has Biscuit, she’ll flip. She’ll be so furious. I can’t tell her. Damn it Kesha. “Cody? Talk to me.” She says with a worried tone. “It's nothing you have to worry about, Snow. it's just something at work.” “Are you sure?” She presses. “Yeah. I have to go and take care of it.” I flash her a smile and rush upstairs to dress up. I pick up my car keys in a rush and speed out of the house. Why exactly would Kesha even take Biscuit? She’s indeed crazy. And I'm sure she's doing this to test my patience. I need to find a way to get her off my back so that Snow and I can live our lives in peace. I pull up in front of Kesha's apartment, rush through the lobby to the
Snow Cody walks back in, two hours later after he left, with Biscuit in his hands. I thought he said he was going to take care of something at work. I move forward and gently take Biscuit from him. She licks my face and rests her head on my shoulder while I pat her back and pet her. This raised a lot of questions that needed answers. I give him a look. "I thought you said there was something at work that you were going to take care of." He looks away, not meeting my eyes and sighs. "I lied." "Hm." I hummed. "And Biscuit?" "Kesha was here yesterday while we were getting drunk." I raise my brows but maintain my frown. "She took Biscuit with her to her apartment. The text message I received this morning before I left…was from her. So I went to get Biscuit." "Her reason was?" I question him. "You know how crazy she is, Snow. I don't know why she took Biscuit but I guess it was to piss you off." He explains to me. "There's more to it, Cody. You're not telling me something." I point
Snow "Snow. Please open up. It's me, Sam." I stare at the ceiling, not making any attempt to let her in. Maybe she'll just leave me alone if I don't. "Snow. Don't do this. Don't shut me out. Talk to me. I'm here for you." She keeps knocking on my door. "Snow, I'm not leaving here until you unlock this door. Let me in please." She begs. Scratching sounds on my door follow. Biscuit barks as Sam keeps knocking. I sigh and get up to go and unlock the door.Immediately I open up, Sam pulls me in for a hug. My hands fall beside me, unable to hug her back. I'm just exhausted from crying and thinking all day, and I don't feel like doing anything. Sam takes me to the bed and we both sit. I avoid her gaze and stare at my fingers. "I'm sorry about Cody." "Don't apologise for his mistakes." I reply too quickly and quietly. "I understand that you're angry." "I'm furious Sam. I'm more than angry." I tell her, slightly raising my voice and she sighs. "I don't even know what to say." "It's no
Snow "How did it go?" Cody asks immediately as I enter the living room. "It went well." I reply without meeting his eyes. I attempt to walk away but he doesn't let me. "Talk to me Snow." He says. "About what? I can't trust you anymore." I reply coldly. "Just hear me out." He pleads. "I'm really tired and I want to go to bed so please leave me alone." I state. "You're not even hungry? I made dinner." He offers. "I ate with Andre before coming." "Snow." "Let me pass Cody." He stares down at me as I glare at him. When he doesn't make any move to let me pass, I push past him to walk away to my room. He grabs my hand before I'm able to get away from him and pulls me into him. "What are you doing?" I ask him. "Lee and I are the only ones that know about your amnesia and the accident that brought about that." He starts. "So?" "Has anything happened to you since we knew about that?" His hold on my arm tightens and I wince. "Kylie." "What about her?" I raise a brow at him. "She'
Cody "Mr. Harrison, we'll have to discuss this properly. You do know that we have to get everything prepared before we meet with our client, Mr. Boadi, our Ghanaian client. You must know that he doesn't like to be kept waiting. " "I'm aware of that, Mr. Wells. I'll have it done as soon as possible." "Hello son." Mother interrupts us. "Excuse me Sir." Mr. Harrison says and leaves my office. "What are you doing here mother? Aren't you supposed to be in the hospital right now?" "I'm here because you and I seriously need to talk." She takes a seat in front of me. "What's there to talk about?" I ask bluntly. "If you're here to complain to me, then please don't. I have a lot of work to do. I need you to leave me to work." "I'm very disappointed in you Cody. How can you leave Kesha to be with Snow?" I roll my eyes. "Kesha has all the qualities to be your wife. What more do you want? Snow is not fit to be in a relationship with you and as your mother, I do not approve." "You never act
Cody "I told you I could handle it." Snow says in a weak voice, smiling at me. "You passed out. How was that handled?" I ask her. "I was feeling nauseous and dizzy while I was in there. I guess I'm claustrophobic." She chuckles. "It's alright. You're tired right now. Get some rest. I have to get back to work." "You're leaving me here?" "No. I'm not. This is my personal work space. No one will come here, except Lee, Sam and I." "But you're still leaving me here." She whines. "I have to so that you can rest. The drugs you took earlier will let you sleep like a baby so i have to leave you." "Fine." She pouts. "I'll see you when I wake up." "Sure." I wave at her leave my personal space, making sure to lock the room. It's a room I designed inside my office to look like a mini apartment just with a bedroom, bathroom and living room. I usually stay over when I have a lot of work to complete before the next day. So when I sleep in the office, I actually sleep in a comfortable space.
