Chp 1 Pt. 2 Summer Is Ending

Maliyah

“Good morning sweetheart,” says dad.

“Morning dad, morning mom.”

“Good morning darling,” mom replies.

“Good morning beautiful,” says Aspen as he kisses my cheek.

He is always very respectful in front of my parents and is big on PDA in front of them. I take a moment and stare at my boyfriend. He is as handsome as ever with his blonde hair, that almost appears white, and bright blue eyes. He is way taller than me at six foot three and very athletic like a runner.

“Good morning Aspen,” I reply with a smile. Terra and I are sure he is our mate.

“Do you have any plans today?”

I look towards my parents who shake their head no, making me smile bigger.

“Nope, what do you have planned?”

“It’s a surprise. With your parents permission, I’d like to take you to the elf realm for a surprise.”

“I’m fine with that as long as you are back by Sunday. We too have a surprise for you,” mom replies.

“Deal!”

Miss Kat is the best. She has cooked some of my favorites this morning. Belgium waffles, bacon that is slightly burnt, eggs over easy and best of all, fruit. I smear peanut butter all over my waffle before smothering it with syrup.

“You like the weirdest combinations of food,” says Aspen with a chuckle.

“I think you are weird for not loving peanut butter on waffles,” I retort with a giggle.

After breakfast, I head back to my room and pack a bag for the weekend. I don’t need much since I tend to keep plenty of clothes in the elf realm. I have been learning all I can with King Bjarki about their realm and check in on Queen Ivy’s old projects so they don’t fall through the cracks.

The late queen had many projects she was overseeing, one of them being building a playground that looks similar to a human playground for the children. She had started the plans, but never got around to actually building it. With my powers, I plan to ensure the playground is all natural so it doesn’t look out of place.

I squeeze my siblings into a hug before hugging mom and dad. It took mom about a year to be okay with me going back and forth between the elf and human realm. Like me, she sometimes struggles to sleep and wakes up due to nightmares, but you would never know it behind the smile she gives.

“You three be good for mom and dad.”

“Do you have to go,” whines Accalia.

“I’ll be back.”

“But you never hang out with us,” cries Thierry, putting on his best pouting face.

I can’t help but giggle at him, but I know they are right. I need to spend some time with them before my senior year begins.

“Alright, how about this? Sunday when I return we will all go riding together.”

“You promise,” says Aiden, holding out his little pinky.

“I promise,” I reply, wrapping my pinky finger around his.

“You ready to go beautiful?”

I blush at his nickname and shake my head yes. I take his hand and call upon my powers to send us to the elf realm. I don’t really like teleporting from one realm to another, I always feel light headed afterwards.

We appear directly in front of Aspen’s family’s castle. It’s not like a medieval times castle though. Their version of a castle reminds me of Ancient Greece. The staircases and columns have beautiful vines wrapped around them that have various flowers blooming.

As we walk by a column, Aspen picks a pink flower and places it in my hair. I blush, suddenly shy and look down but Aspen gently uses his fingers to make me look back up at him. My heart begins to beat rapidly as he leans closer, brushing his fingers along my cheek. I lean into his hand as he brings his lips to meet mine.

“Ahem.”

Aspen slowly pulls away and doesn’t seem bothered that we were caught making out in the halls.

“Sorry father, “says Aspen with a smile on face, indicating he is no where near sorry for kissing me openly.

“Maliyah!”

I look behind me towards the little voice yelling my name and smile. Ada is running full speed down the hall right towards me. I easily catch her as she jumps, squeezing me in a bear hug.

“I’ve missed you,” says Ada.

“I missed you too Ada.”

“Come on, I have a surprise for you.”

“But….”

“I have to steal Aspen for a bit anyway Maliyah.”

I can see Aspen frown at his father, but I know Aspen has duties to look after being the prince and all.

“It’s fine Aspen. I don’t want to keep you from your duties. I’m sure you’ll find me when you’re finished.”

“See, even Maliyah knows duties come first. Now come.”

Aspen sighs before giving me a quick kiss and following his father.

“So what is this surprise,” I ask Ada as she leads me down the opposite direction of where Aspen and his father are going.

“Spa day before your big date.”

Ada leads me to a beautiful marble bathroom, but it looks more like a pool room than a bathroom. Steam rises up from the water, indicating it’s hot and ready. Ada hands me a bathing suit and goes to change in hers. Once we’re changed we both wade our way into the water, letting the hot water relax our muscles.

In the water are reclining chairs made out of marble with moss growing on top. It’s surprisingly comfortable. I lay back as some castle workers begin putting something in our hair and combing out the tangles.

“What are they putting in our hair?”

“It’s all natural ingredients gathered here in our forest. It’ll give your hair a healthy natural glow and your hair will feel so soft and silky smooth,” Ada replies.

I sit back and relax as the castle workers gently comb our hair. It feels heavenly and I feel like I could take a nap. While we are getting our hair combed, more workers arrive and begin doing our nails. They cut back my cuticles and rub some sort of lotion all over as they massage my hand. I never would’ve thought to get a hand massage, but boy do I recommend it.

Once the water begins to cool down, we get out and wrap ourselves in towels and follow the workers to more chairs. I take a seat and they continue on to my toes, doing the same thing they did with my hands. Other elves are using their magic to dry my hair before putting my hair in french braid down my left shoulder.

“I think I could get use to this,” I giggle.

“When you marry my brother and move here we can do this all the time.”

I smile to myself, liking the thought of marrying Aspen. I come here often and consider it my second home so I wouldn’t mind living here permanently. Once our spa day is over, Ada hands me a beautiful baby blue dress with specks of silver throughout it. It is a long flowing maxi dress with a silver belt with lotus flower design cut into it. The sleeveless dress has the same pattern at the shoulder that connects the front of the dress to the back with a pretty sheer train leading down the shoulders. It seems very similar to the dress that girl in Game of Thrones wore.

“Ada, is this the dress from that human tv show Game of Thrones.”

“Very similar. Who do you think designed her dress?”

“An elf designed her dress?”

“Yes, A few elves hold jobs in the human world.”

I didn’t know this, making wonder what else do I not know about the elves.
