Marcell's pov-
I looked down at Maria in shock. She had seen my father, my father was alive!
Could she have been fooled? She was only a young child at the time of his disappearance.
What a useless thought. No, Maria would recognise my father even if he had changed his face.
He was close with Maria and She loved my father to pieces. It's Maria, that is how she loves everyone. She loves unconditionally with her whole heart.
I placed Maria gently

Maria's POV-"Maria""Maria, I'm here now"Lucien?I tried to open my eyes to see the man the voice belonged too but I couldn't."Maria"Lucien?I pushed my eyes open awaking drowsily, my vision So blurred. it was dark, only a dim light shining revealing an outline of someone looking down at me.
"You" I demanded the attention of the guard at the bottom of the stairs. "Where is Lucien?" I asked hurriedly."He went that way a few moments ago" He pointed to the left."Is everything okay mam?" He asked but I waved him off taking a run in the direction he had directed me too.And there he was, Lucien with his hand wrapped tightly around the handle of the basement door."LUCIEN" I screamed for his attention. His head snapping up so fast at the screech of my voice.
Maria's POV-I slowly took the steps one by one. The metal stairs clinking and creaking with every step. It was dull in here, the light at the very minimum I could barely see where to put my feet.Lucien was behind me, his hand placed gently to the small of my back, his touch only comforting to me. It would be a lie if I was to say that I wasn't afraid of what my sight would find down here. The air is stuffy and smells damp with a strong smell of bleach."Do not touch anything down here Maria" Lucien voiced as he brushed past me to take the lead. Althoug
The chains clinked as Carlos was lowered to the ground. A gruntled moan leaving his lips at the now cold concrete beneath his skin. I dropped to my knees beside him, lifting his head into my lap.His head resting between my hands as I gently smoothed his skin in hopes of somehow comforting him."La princesa de la mafia" Carlos coughed."I am so sorry Carlos," I cried. This was my fault, all my fault. The corner of his lips twitched a crooked smile "Nothing a couple of bandaids can not fix Mi amor" his voice cracked.
Maria's pov-I closed my eyes sinking into the wall behind me as Lucien held my hand in his.I was exhausted from the events of the excruciatingly long night weighing down on me."Are you okay?" Lucien questioned softly.I hummed "Just tired" I confessed as he placed a hand to my neck, his thumb running soothing circles across my skin."Come, you need to rest Maria" he said, placing a single kiss to the top of my head.
Maria's pov-I sat upon Lucien's bed. a feast of a breakfast spread out Infront of me. I'm assuming it's pretty late, it's for sure past one or two in the afternoon. Before I had started shoveling all this food down I was starving. Now I just feel bloated and stuffed. The sound of Lucien's phone ringing brought my attention to the bedside table, Diego's name flashing up on the screen."Lucien" I called out reaching for his phone.I swiped bringing the pho
Carlos was sitting slouched against the headboard of the bed, his hair wet in a fresh suit with an unbuttoned shirt revealing his bandaged up chest."Finally" he winced, sliding himself to the edge of the bed."Stay in the bed you need to rest" I said as I rushed to his side."I have been doing that all day" he waved me off."Are you okay?" I asked, reaching out to his arm in hopes to support his movements. His face screwing up with another wince as he rose to his feet.
Lucien's pov-I sat with a whisky in hand. This was bullshit I thought to myself, watching how everyone was calmly interacting with Carlos Asif he had not been involved in Maria's disappearance.Maria insists he's not to blame but I couldn't give two shits on what she thought of the situation. He can not be trusted.I shot the last of the whisky from my glass. I don't like this, not one bit. I inwardly seethed as I watched Maria Let out a laugh at Carlos praising Aimee's paella dish with exaggeration.I clenched my jaw. It was sickening to even watch as I refilled my glass."Lorenzo tells me you saved Maria's life, may I ask for the story?" Aimee asked, p
