Amputated

The alpha silenced the pack, but he could not silence the excitement in the hearts of those who never liked or trusted Maria. They might have quietened down and kept their thoughts to themselves when the alpha rebuked them for the things they were saying about Maria.

But they always thought that something was wrong with the girl, that she might even be a demon, because as far as they knew, no werewolf was born with markings like hers. Some speculated that she might be a mixture of a werewolf and a witch.

But now they had a chance to find out who or what she really was, push her until she shows her true self.  “Without wasting anymore time, I, alpha Jackson Lockwood of the Eclipse pack hereby reject you Maria Van Loveren from the pack and give you to the pack members for punishment. This sentence will last a week until you are executed on Saturday.”

The already weak Maria felt the bond to the pack break, for the first time in nineteen years she felt empty and alone. Both her parents were dead, and her best friend and mate wanted nothing to do with her.

She had no one, she laid on that floor and let her tears do the talking. “I wish I could tell you that everything is going to be okay Ria, but it doesn’t seem that way. I don’t know what to say besides that I am scared. I don’t want to die Maria.” Sara, her wolf, spoke.

She was trying very hard to stay strong for Maria and not let her feel her pain as well, but it was futile. Both the wolf and its human counterpart were broken. After the bond between them, their mate, and the pack. They felt like a person who just got amputated, like they had lost parts of their limbs.

“Get up and leave this place. But don’t go too far, the pack needs to be able to find you and vent their anger. Punish you as you deserve.” Maria wondered what she has ever done to this man to deserve what he was doing to her.

What did she do for him to think she deserves to be punished for something she didn’t do? Was she being punished for her father’s sins?

She did not have any answers to those questions, and no one was going to give them to her. The alpha dismissed everyone, but some did not just leave. They went to Maria, some kicking her where she lay while others spat on her and called her names.

Eric could not watch anymore; he could not see her like that. When they kicked her, part of him wanted to go there and rip those wolves to shreds. But he stopped himself, he convinced himself that she deserved everything she was getting.

He also could not stay and watch. So, the young alpha left the hall and headed to the river in hopes of clearing his head. But when he got there all he could think about was Maria, the time they spent there together.

He kicked a rock in anger. “Fuck!” The young alpha cursed kicking rocks and punching trees until his knuckles opened and bled. “Why did you fucking do it, Maria, why?” he screamed in anger not knowing what to do with himself.

When he could not take it anymore, he shifted into his wolf, Midnight, and started running through the woods.

He needed an escape, he was running fast, jumping logs and breaking twigs with his big paws as he ran. But memories of him and Maria followed. Memories of them running together in those woods.

Maria as her white wolf Sara and him with his black one, midnight. Back then, he thought that they were going to be together as friends forever, with him and his mate then her with hers.

He did not know that the mate he dreamed of meeting was her all along. That they had found each other long before they knew who they were to each other. But they were not going to have their happily ever after because she decided to be a murderer!

With those thoughts in mind Eric went crazy, he was both angry and disappointed. “Stop!” His wolf could not take it anymore; Eric was driving him insane. “There is still time to make things right, she did not accept your rejection.” Midnight tried talking some sense into his counterpart.

Eric shook his head no. “It’s too late, she murdered my mother and her own father. In case you forgot.” He argued as they slowed down and finally stopped. “But we don’t know what really happened. No one gave her a chance to explain.”

When he heard that Eric was enraged then shifted into his human form. “What is there to explain? My father saw her do it!” Midnight said nothing for a moment giving him time to cool down for a moment.

Eric paced for the longest time in frustration, if someone were to see him like that, they would think he was crazy. A naked man in the woods pacing like a madman. The man looked both crazy and funny at the same time.  

When he got tired, he sat down on the grass breathing heavily as if he was doing hard labor at a construction site. “You forget two things from what we saw, one being that she had not even a stain of blood or smelled like it. Two, her father was also murdered, three…”

Eric cut his wolf off. “You said two things.” Midnight sighed. “Three, what was her father doing naked in bed with your mother? Don’t you find it strange, and what if your father did it? I mean anyone would go mad after finding his mate cheating on them.”

Eric fumed in anger once again, his anger kept rising like boiling lava about to spill all over. “How can you even think that? My parents loved each other more than anything. My father could never have done anything to harm her!”

He roared looking like a person losing his mind, yelling alone in the woods. “Believe what you want, I was just pointing out other possibilities.” Eric was going crazy not paying attention to his surroundings.

Both when he was running and when he got to where he was. The young alpha did not even notice that he was no longer on his pack lands. He has crossed the border to The Damned pack under alpha Luciano.

The name said it all, this was one of the most feared packs around. It was said that alpha Luciano changed the name of the pack from Red Moon to The Damned after he killed his parents. It is said that a month after he took over the pack from his father, Luciano discovered that his parents made their riches from selling human organs and trafficking.

It is said that the young alpha confronted the former alpha and Luna. His parents admitted it and told him to continue with the family business. Luciano did as his parents said but a problem arose when a drug lord came knocking.

The man came for his sister. It is said that her parents sold her to the man when she was only eight years old to get the capital to start their company. But the man wanted them to do more than just their daughter.

He wanted them to help him with his other businesses, human trafficking and selling organs in black market. Everything was going well between them until his son came of age and he came to collect.

His sister did not want to go, and Luciano would not allow it. But his parents took his sister to the man by choice and was killed by rogues on their way to give her away to the drug lord. His parents survived but his sister unfortunately lost his life. It is said that when Luciano heard about it, he went into a fit of rage and killed both his parents.

Then changed the name of the pack and dedicated his life to killing all his father’s and the drug lord’s business partners. Everyone who was involved in the organ and trafficking business.

With that, alpha Lorenzo earned himself the reputation of the Blood alpha of The Damned. Every pack feared him and would never do anything to disrespect him or his pack. He was hardly ever seen in gatherings, and many did not know what he looked like. But wished to.

Eric heard the most menacing growl he had ever heard, it sent cold shivers down his spine keeping him frozen in place. A low threatening growl of an angry wolf was heard behind him after that growl.

Eric first thought it was a rogue but quickly dismissed that thought when he did not smell that disgusting smell of a rogue and in its place fear settled. He knew that the thing behind him was no rogue but something worse.

Eric turned slowly to look but just as he was about to lift his head to look, all he could see were huge paws before he was on the ground hitting his head hard on something then darkness taking him away.
