Her words had been like a heater on a cold night, spreading waves of warmth to the iciest parts of him, he was left in such a daze that he couldn't manage to maintain eye contact, he already felt his disguise slipping. For a brief moment, he had believed her, forgetting that all of this was a sham, merely a sham. Why was she so good with words? Why was her deception sweet enough to almost cost him his defense?
