"If you're my mother's best friend don't you think that she would want to see you?" Rogue asked curiously.

I nodded quietly.

She was definitely a smart kid. I'll give her an applause for that.

I sighed deeply.

"Of course I want her to know that I've been searching for her all these years but I want to surprise her so please don't tell her that we met."

Rogue looked conflicted and it made me realize that I should have killed that mutt when I had the chance during the attack.

I guess biting her leg didn't do enough damage like I expected.

I removed my hand in one of the metal bars and held it out my pinky finger so that she could promise me.

She sighed softly and smiled at me.

She's so gullible just like her mother.

"Alright aunty Velvet I won't tell mom or dad about you but can I come visit you again?" She asked curiously.

I forced a smile.

I couldn't stand breathing the same air as this child.

I had pretended to actually care about her when in reality she was getting on my ne
