“Cassandra, please open the door” Isabel called out, gently knocking on the door.

She stayed in bed, her thoughts being the only thing keeping her company for the five school days she'd been 'feeling sick'.

Isabel bit her lip.

“How about some fresh air huh? It'll just be the two of us at the park just like the old times.”

Cassandra did want the old times back. Where she would have never met Jace or Montana. Where she wasn't forced to grow up and where her parents and brother were alive. But that was impossible now.

“Cassandra Martinez! If you don't open this door right now, I swear to God that I am going to—”

“Go away Isa” her best friend croaked out. “I told you I have the flu and it's contagious so I can't let you in; not through the door, not through the window.”

Isabel sighed.

“A flu? Shouldn't you see a doctor before you decide you have a flu?”

Cassandra tossed in bed.

“I'm just going to sleep it off, Isa.”

“For how long?”

Cassandra sighed.
