Katrina’s POV

Blake looked surprised but impressed. “That’s awesome, Kat.”

Ariana leaned closer. “Wait, are you eighteen yet?”

I looked down at my tray. “I will be tomorrow.”

“What?! Tomorrow’s your birthday?” she gasped.

I nodded shyly. “Yeah. Friday.”

“Kat!” Ariana almost shouted. “You didn’t say anything!”

I gave a small shrug. “It’s not a big deal.”

“Yes, it is!” Blake said with a grin. “It’s your eighteenth birthday. That’s huge!”

“What are you doing for it?” Ariana asked.

I paused, picking at the corner of my bread roll. “Nothing. I usually celebrated with my mom. She’d bake me a cake, sing this silly song she made up. But… she’s gone now. So I’ll just stay in, I guess.”

They both went quiet. I could feel their eyes on me, but I didn’t look up.

“I’m really sorry, Kat,” Ariana said softly, her voice full of warmth.

“Yeah. That’s tough,” Blake added. “But you shouldn’t be alone on your birthday.”

Ariana reached across the table and took my hand gently. “Let us take you out tomorro

I like the story.. well written, but it started hot and fast.. 30 chapters later, we still know nothing. why doesn't she have a wolf? What's happening at her old pac?, mate bond isn't even acknowledged. What happened to her 16 year old friend? Doesn't she go to school also? Liam still a coward ?

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   Chapter 40

Katrina’s POVI hugged her tight. “You look amazing,” I said, pulling back to look at her properly.“Thanks! But tonight’s about you, so we’re gonna make you look amazing,” she said, dropping the bags onto my bed like they were treasure.I followed her over and watched as she pulled out dress after dress. Red. Black. Silver. Gold. Some had glitter, others were smooth and shiny. There were heels too, and even a small bag of jewelry—necklaces, earrings, bracelets. My mouth dropped open a little. I wasn’t used to this. I had never been the girl who got ready for parties or had a friend bring over fancy things to share.“All of this is for me?” I asked softly, blinking at the pretty clothes spread out on my bed.“Duh,” Ariana said, tossing her hair back. “It’s your birthday. You deserve to feel special. Pick whichever one you want.”I slowly reached for the gold dress. It was short and fitted, with tiny go

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   Chapter 38

Katrina’s POVIt had been a little over a week since the dodgeball incident. Angie hadn’t talked to me since then. She hadn’t even looked in my direction. It was like I didn’t exist anymore. Part of me felt relieved. The other part just felt… tired. I didn’t want to fight or argue with anyone. I just wanted to be invisible and get through the day without drama.Alpha Liam had continued driving me to school every morning.Every morning, I’d sit in the passenger seat of his sleek black car. It smelled like leather and mint, and there was always soft music playing in the background. Not too loud. Just enough to fill the silence. The seats were warm, and the car always felt safe. Like a little bubble where no one could hurt me. At first, we didn’t talk much during the car rides. He would say “Good morning” in his calm voice, and I’d just mumble it back, looking out the window. The car would stay quiet after that, except for the low music playing from the radio. I didn’t mind the silence.

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   Chapter 38

Katrina's POVHis eyes darkened like a thunderstorm had just rolled into them, and his mouth was tight with frustration. His jaw clenched so hard I could see the muscle twitch.“Angie,” he said sharply. “Apologize.”My breath caught in my throat.Did he just say…?I stared at him, my eyes wide. Angie looked shocked too. Her eyes went big for a second, and she looked at him like she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She opened her mouth like she wanted to argue, but stopped herself when she saw the look he was giving her. It was cold. Alpha-like. And it shut her right up.She turned to me slowly, dragging her eyes like it physically hurt her to look at me.“I’m sorry,” she said stiffly, like the words burned her tongue. “For hitting you in dodgeball.”It didn’t sound real. It didn’t sound like she meant it. But the fact that she had to say it at all made my heart beat faster.I blinked at her, not sure what to say. No one had ever made Angie apologize before. Not to me. Not ever.

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   Chapter 37

Katrina’s POVAlpha Liam gently took my hand in his. His hand was so big and warm, completely wrapping around mine. It made my heart beat faster, and I tried not to think about how small I felt next to him. Without saying much, he started walking, guiding me down the hallway toward the nurse’s office.I stayed quiet. My nose still hurt, and my head was spinning from everything that had just happened. But the way he was holding my hand made it hard to think straight. My fingers were still sticky with dried blood, but he didn’t seem to care. He just kept holding on.When we got to the nurse’s office, the school nurse looked up and her eyes widened. She stood up quickly and bowed her head to him. “Alpha,” she said, her voice respectful.“Take care of her,” Alpha Liam told her, his voice serious but calm. Then he turned to me. “Stay here. I’ll be right back.”I nodded, not sure what to say. And just like that, he was gone. The nurse gently guided me to sit on one of the beds. The room sme

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   Chapter 36

Katrina’s POVMy heart skipped. He was dressed in all black like usual, tall and strong and cold-looking. His eyes locked on mine, and for a second, I forgot about the blood, the pain, the embarrassment. He started walking toward us. His steps were quick and full of purpose. Ariana immediately lowered her head respectfully and said, “Alpha.”I did the same, though not as gracefully. My head was still a little fuzzy.“What happened to your face?” he asked, stopping right in front of me. His voice was calm, but there was something dangerous underneath it.“It’s nothing,” I mumbled, not meeting his eyes. “Just a game accident.”His eyes narrowed slightly. “A game accident?” he repeated like he didn’t believe me.Then he looked at Ariana. “Can you excuse us?”Ariana looked hesitant, glancing between us. “Are you sure?” she asked me quietly.I nodded. “I’m fine.”She gave me a look that said you better be, then left us alone in the hallway. Now it was just me and him.Alpha Liam looked at m
