Katrina’s POV

My body reacted before my mind could catch up. I broke into a run, shoving aside the curtain flaps that hung from the back of the canopy. My heart thundered in my chest, a knot of panic forming in my throat.

And then I saw them.

Mira stood pressed against a wooden post at the edge of the tent, her hands pushing against the chest of a tall boy—Josh. Her eyes were wide and glossy, her face pale. She looked like she was trying to shrink into herself. Josh had one arm wrapped around her waist and the other trying to tilt her face up to his.

“Come on,” he was saying. “Don’t be like that. You’ve been smiling at me all night. I know you want this.”

My fists clenched, and something hot and sharp surged through me.

I marched straight toward them. “Let. Her. Go.”

Josh turned his head sharply toward me, clearly annoyed at being interrupted. Mira’s head jerked around too, and the relief in her eyes made my chest tighten.

Josh scoffed and rolled his eyes like I was being dramatic. “I

Liam’s POVKat was still unconscious.Hours had gone by since they moved her into the private room, but to me, it felt like days. The ticking clock on the wall mocked me with every second that passed. I sat in the same spot beside her bed, leaning forward with my elbows on my knees, hands clenched so tightly they had started to ache. I couldn’t remember the last time I blinked, let alone the last time I stood up or even drank water. The soft beeping from the machines was the only sound in the room besides the steady hum of the heater blowing from the ceiling vent. The air smelled like antiseptic and faint lavender—the kind of smell that lingered in hospitals. The kind of smell I remembered from the day Lana died.I shook that thought away and looked at Kat.She looked so small in that hospital bed, the white blankets pulled up to her chest. Her long dark lashes lay like little shadows on her cheeks. Her lips were slightly parted, her breathing so light and quiet that I found myself le

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   Chapter 107

Ethan’s POVThe doors burst open almost instantly. Two nurses rushed out, their eyes wide and alert, and behind them came one of our healers, her long white coat flapping behind her as she moved.“What happened?” the healer asked, her eyes scanning Katrina and then looking at me. She waved quickly for someone to bring a stretcher.“She passed out,” I said, trying to catch my breath. “There were rogues—she just… she passed out.”I didn’t tell her about the fire. I didn’t mention the way flames had shot from Kat’s hands or how she had burned that rogue. I didn’t know what it meant yet, and I didn’t want anyone else knowing until I had answers. I had seen the fear in the rogue’s eyes before he died. I had seen the way Kat’s hands had glowed silver, but I couldn’t make sense of it. Not yet.The nurses gently pulled Katrina from my arms and laid her carefully on the stretcher. I hated the feeling of letting her go, even for a second. She looked so small lying there, her skin pale, her eyes

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   Chapter 106

Liam’s POVThe moment Katrina collapsed, everything else around me faded into nothing. The wind stopped. The noise of the rogues running away disappeared. All I could hear was the thundering of my heartbeat in my ears and the way her body hit the ground with a soft, terrifying thud.“No,” I whispered, already moving. “No, no, no—Katrina!”I ran to her, faster than I’ve ever moved in my life. I dropped to my knees beside her. My hands were shaking as I reached for her. Her body was limp. Her head lolled to the side, her hair sticking to her damp forehead. Her lips were slightly parted, her eyes closed like she was sleeping. But something was wrong. I could feel it.“Katrina?” My voice cracked. “Please… open your eyes.”I shook her gently, my hand cupping her cheek. Her skin was warm. Too warm. Not from fever—but from the power that had just poured out of her like a storm. I could still feel the heat from the silver flames in the air around us. The grass where the man had fallen was bla

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   CHAPTER 105

Katrina’s POVNot just a soft light. It was like silver fire had wrapped around my fingers and palms, flickering like tiny flames. It was warm but didn’t hurt me. It felt… powerful. Like it belonged to me.The rogue man stared up at me with wide, terrified eyes.“No… no, what is that? What are you?” he screamed. But I didn’t stop.I pushed harder, letting the flames burst from my palms and into his skin. He screamed as the fire scorched his face and chest, his body thrashing beneath me.“Stop! No, please!” he begged, but I couldn’t stop.I wouldn’t.Tears streamed down my face, not from sadness—but from everything. Fear. Anger. Power. It all mixed together and poured out of me through the silver flames.“I’m not your prey,” I whispered through clenched teeth. “And I’m not afraid of you.”The flames got louder, crackling and roaring like a storm. They were all around the man now, like they had a life of their own. They moved like angry waves, wrapping around him and climbing up his bod

  • Marked By Fate: The Alpha Who Loved Me   CHAPTER 104

Katrina’s POV“What the hell?” he muttered, voice sharp and alert.I sat up straight, my heart skipping a beat. “What is it?” I asked, already looking ahead. That’s when I saw them. Two wolves stood in the middle of the road, completely still, like statues. Their eyes glowed a faint yellow in the sunlight. My stomach dropped. I couldn’t move for a second—my mind froze. I was staring at something that looked too familiar.Déjà vu slammed into me.Just like before. Just like that night. The night my mother and I had run for our lives from Alpha Jacob’s pack. A rogue wolf had blocked the road. My mom had swerved to avoid it. We crashed. Then came the others. They dragged my mother out of the car. She fought, but they were too many. I had screamed, cried, begged—but nothing had saved her.My breathing turned shaky. I couldn’t stop the memory from playing again in my head like it had just happened yesterday.Liam cursed again and hit the brakes hard. The tires screeched as the car came to
