CHAPTER 173: FAMILY, AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.

LIANA'S POV.

I looked in astonishment at what I just witnessed. My major concern was not that he ripped someone's head off with just one hand by squeezing his neck. My concern was with his eyes.

All that followed were screams of agony, terror, and pain. Most of them turned frantic; others were angry but scared at the same time. But it was clear they stood no chance against him, even though he was grossly outnumbered.

His speed, agility, and strengt

CHAPTER 180: QUITE THE MORAL BATTLE. The night was calm and quiet. Dog barks in the neighborhood traveled far with little obstruction. Using the cover of the night, hiding behind trees, Mario stalked the house like a predator. He kept a keen watch on the house, observing the cops that were assigned to guard the Mayor's residence. Mario also tried to observe what went on within the house, but the curtains were drawn, blocking off visibility. But he knew the layout of the house. He knew where everyone was supposed to be. He checked his smartwatch and saw that it was an hour to midnight already. So, he braced himself and headed to the house. He knew some of the cops who were assigned to guard the house that night. It was his intention not to harm any of the cops. His target was within the house. So, with the sedative he got from the assailant who tried to knock him out, he knocked out all the cops. With the cops out of the way, he walked to the house, wearing a hood over his head. H

CHAPTER 179: FOLLOWING UP ON THE NEW LEAD. Mary chuckled, jubilant at her accomplishment. Sighing, she kept her phone back in her bag. "This was way easier than I expected," she said. Then she walked over to the couch and tossed everything on the coffee table with one swipe of her hand; then she sat down and crossed her legs. The empty bottles of beer luckily didn't shatter as they fell. Thanks to the furry white rug which Mario had purchased from Target years back, upon which the coffee table was set, none of the bottles broke.Mary took the TV remote control and increased the volume."So, even this douchebag found this show interesting, huh? Goes to show how awesome it is," Mary remarked, then she smiled. She briefly turned and looked in the direction where Mario was, lying on the floor, and she looked away. Her eyes suddenly widened, and she gasped. She quickly looked back. "What the fuck? Where'd he go?" she asked, her eyes darting around hysterically. She quickly got up. "But

  • Marked By The Alpha Who Never Was    KINKY APPROACH.

CHAPTER 178: KINKY APPROACH.Mario lounged in his living room, wearing just a bathing robe and a pair of boxers, watching TV. It was a medical drama he recently stumbled upon while scrolling through his Prime Time list. He found it interesting and had already binged the whole of the first season. It was a series made in the early 2000s, so it had over twenty forty-five-minute episodes. Not the eight to ten episodes which most TV shows are known for these days. He found it fascinating. Just a preview of a scene with the male lead got him hooked. Mario reached for a bottle of beer without looking. His hand knocked one of the bottles down, clattering. That drew his attention. 'Oh, wow,' he remarked to himself. He didn't realize he had finished nearly a pack of beer. And he felt nothing. He shrugged it off, attributing it to the changes his body had undergone. He picked up a bottle a couple of bottles and found that they were all empty. He sighed and leaned into his couch. He felt to

CHAPTER 177: QUITE THE INTENSE MOMENT WITH FAMILY. LIANA'S POV.If there's one thing I hate, it's when family disagrees, especially with such an intensity that makes it look like they were enemies. And there I was, witnessing my own family — my uncle and grandfather- facing off like there was about to be a showdown between the two of them.It made me wonder why they seemed to hate each other so much."Okay. Knock it off," I said as I walked and tried separating the two of them, pushing Travis backward. But his feet were planted firmly on the ground. "Travis, it's okay. You've made your point. Step away from Grandpa," I said. But Travis wouldn't budge. Rather, he sulked, glaring at his father. Jabin just stared at him coldly. Travis gritted his teeth, then he sighed and stepped away. "This complacency is what has kept our clan this way — hiding in fear, while they walk the earth as the supreme beings," Travis said, still fuming. Then he turned and looked at me. "But not anymore. Wi

CHAPTER 176: FAMILY TENSION.LIANA'S POV."What's the matter, Jabin?" Travis asked. We were both curious to hear what the old man had to say.He sighed and looked at us. Then he got up and looked around the house, looking out the windows, as though he was checking to see if someone was listening in on our conversation. "Why are you being so cryptic?" Travis asked, wondering. "What I'm about to say should not be taken lightly," Jabin said, lowering his voice, and his face turned serious. I furrowed my brow as I looked at him."None within our clan in the past thousand years after the Blood Wars who was born a True Blood has exhibited this sign before." "And how is this piece of information helpful?" Travis asked. "Growing up, we were told tales, and I read in books of the werewolf who started the Blood Wars, Kalledor, how his wolf hibernated, slumbered, and never manifested for long, but the whole clan knew he had one, being one of the originals," Jabin began his narration. "He wa

CHAPTER 175: KIN IN THE BAYOUS. LIANA'S POV.'The hell!' My brows remained furrowed as I pondered. "You look troubled. What's the matter?" Travis asked. I kept quiet for a bit as I still looked at the picture."Liana?" he called. "What is it?" "Um... Who is this little boy in the background?" I asked, almost counting my words, somewhat afraid of the answer."Oh. That should be their son," he replied. I gulped as a result."What is it? Anything the matter?" he inquired. "Um, no. Not at all," I answered. "I uh... I find it strange that my parents knew them.""Well, that would be the last time they would ever get to meet each other," he added."Hmm," I sighed, pondering for a bit.'So, I crossed paths with Trevor way back, huh? And I have no recollection of it at all. But does Trevor not remember this meeting?' "You seem awfully quiet. What are you internalizing?" Travis asked. "It's nothing to worry about," I answered, cracking up a smile. I tried my best to hide the contemplation
