ISLA

I lay there, crying on Lucian's body, my tears falling onto his battered skin. I felt like I had lost him, like my wolf's actions had taken him away from me forever.

But then, I felt him stir beneath me. He was moving, waking up. He called out my name, his voice weak but unmistakable.

“Isla…”

I looked up, my eyes locking onto his face. "Lucian, you're okay!" I exclaimed, relief washing over me.

I jumped onto his body, embracing him tightly. But as soon as I did, he whimpered in pain, and I realized that I was putting pressure on his wounds.

I pulled back, apologizing profusely. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry, Lucian," I said, my hands hovering over his body as if unsure of where to touch him.

Lucian's eyes locked onto mine, and he smiled weakly. "It's okay, Isla," he whispered. "I'm...I'm okay."

I looked at him, taking in the extent of his injuries. His face was bruised, his eyes bloodshot. But despite all that, he was smiling at me, his eyes filled with a warmth that made my he

ISLA I begged my wolf, who was now in control, to stop. "Please, don't hurt him," I pleaded. "You'll injure Lucian." My wolf's response was cold and detached. "Shut up," she growled. "I know what I'm doing." “He’s our mate.”I tried to reason with her, to appeal to whatever humanity was left in her. "Please, shift back into human form," I begged. "Give me my body back." But my wolf just laughed, a low, menacing sound. "Why would I do that?" she asked. "You're not capable of protecting yourself without me. You're nothing without me, Isla." I felt a surge of frustration and desperation. I had to get my body back, had to take control. But my wolf was too strong, too powerful. "You're going to get us killed," I warned her. "Lucian won't let this go. When he recovers he won’t want to come with us. He’d hate us!" My wolf just snorted. "I'm not afraid of him, neither will he hate us," she said. "I'm not afraid of anyone. And I'll do whatever it takes to keep us safe." I realize

CAELANAs I crouched on the ground, trying to catch my breath and calm my racing heart, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Elias and Jace ran past me, heading towards the healers' quarters, their voices carrying on the wind.Their conversation was muffled, but I caught snippets of what they were saying. They were talking about the wolf, speculating about its identity and motives. I felt a pang of fear as I realized they were getting closer to the truth.I wanted to call out to them, to warn them about the danger that lurked nearby. But my voice caught in my throat, and I remained silent, watching as they disappeared into the distance.Their voices faded away, replaced by the sound of my own ragged breathing. I felt like a coward, hiding while they faced the danger head-on. I stayed there, frozen in fear, as the sounds of Elias

CAELANAfter almost an hour, my body was finally fully healed, and I was back on my feet. But as I stood up, a single thought echoed in my mind - flee. I had wanted to attack her, but she had deflected my attack with ease and sent me flying across the field, almost to my death. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks, and I felt my body start to panic. My heart was racing, my breath coming in short gasps. Sweat began to drip down my face, my palms growing clammy.I looked around frantically, my eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of the wolf. I knew I couldn't take her on, not in my current state. I had to get out of there, to escape before she came for me.My legs felt like jelly, but I forced myself to move. I took a step back, and then another, my eyes fixed on the spot where the wolf had last been seen. I knew I had to get as far away from her as possible. As I turned to run, I felt a cold sweat trickle down my spine. I was scared, truly scared. I had never felt this way be

CAELAN Hours Ago.. I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. I was lying in the open field, my head throbbing with pain. I tried to sit up, but a wave of agony washed over me, making me grit my teeth. All my bones felt broken, my body screaming in protest as I moved. I grunted, trying to glow my eyes, but instead, I let out a roar of pain. My body was still trying to heal from the impact, and it was taking its sweet time. As I looked around, I saw that I was about 50 feet away from the healers' quarters. Thankfully, I hadn't been hit too far, or I might have been in even worse shape. I gritted my teeth, forcing myself to sit up despite the pain. My body was already starting to heal, but it was a slow process. I could feel my bones knitting themselves back together, my muscles repairing the damage. It would take some time, but I'd be back on my feet soon. For now, I just had to endure the pain and hope that Lucian and President Ryder were okay. But as I r
