LOGINChapter 8
***** SORA: Beauty sat at the edge of the bed, her feet barely touching the ground. She swung them slightly as the doctor concentrated on checking her vitals. She looked smaller than she was, a little pale, but her eyes were bright as she listened to everything the doctor said. “You are so brave,” he smiled at her, “and your heartbeat sounds strong… You haven’t been eating well, huh?” She didn’t reply. She just bent her head slightly, looking at me from the corner of her little eyes. I stood close enough to show her I wasn’t going anywhere. I never took my eyes off her, the way her fingers fidgeted with the hem of her dress. Even when she tried not to show it, I saw how nervous my daughter was. The doctor reached for a tray beside him, and Beauty’s eyes instantly widened. She turned to me, her voice low as she said, “Papa, please don’t let him use the needles. They scare me.” I didn’t even realize her hand had already found its way into mine. “Hey…” I whispered with a reassuring smile, bending so she could see my face. “Look at me, baby girl.” She did, her bottom lip trembling just a little. “There’s nothing to be scared of. Papa's right here, and I promise I won’t let anything hurt you.” The doctor stared at me, then smiled. “Don’t worry, Beauty. There are no needles for you. It’s just a few checks, that’s all.” “Really?” she asked with a big smile. “Yes, really,” he replied with the same enthusiasm. She let out a shaky breath, her shoulders finally relaxing. She leaned closer to me, her grip on my hand tightening just a little. “I like him,” she whispered to me, and I couldn’t help the chuckle that rumbled free. After a moment, the doctor turned, offering me a polite smile. “We’re done.” “So… how is she?” He straightened, packing his things as he spoke. “It’s nothing too serious, don’t worry. She just needs to take her medication, eat, and have enough rest, and she’ll be perfectly fine.” Those words felt like cold water being poured over me after walking in the desert for months. I was so relieved. “So she’ll be okay?” I asked, just to make sure. “Yes,” he said. “Absolutely.” He got ready to leave, but then he stopped when he was close to the door. “How do you do it?” he asked, and I just stared at him in total confusion. He adjusted his glasses. “How are you so great at being a parent? My Omega is pregnant, and I keep pretending like I know what I’m doing, but I’m so terrified. I feel lost, and I don’t have a single clue what exactly to do.” I offered him a small smile, seeing how panicked he was. “It… it’s just an instinct you get when the child is born. You want to always be there and protect your own. You don’t get to figure it out now.” He nodded. “Thank you.” Before I could respond, the door opened and Mirabelle walked in. The doctor exchanged glances with her before he gave a small nod our way and exited the room. For a moment, it felt like the room suddenly became smaller. She was dressed in all black; everything she had on screamed luxury. Her perfume was so strong it had the ability to choke the life out of a living being. She had a smile on her face, but it didn’t reach her eyes, and I didn’t know why I even noticed. She moved toward Beauty, crouching in front of her. “There you are, little one,” she spoke so warmly, brushing a loose strand of hair from Beauty’s face. “You look much better.” Beauty giggled when Mirabelle poked her side playfully. “I’m okay now,” she said in between laughs. Mirabelle laughed too. It was sweet… but, snapped out of it, Sora. I didn’t know why the hell I kept thinking Mirabelle was going to grow claws and horns. I stood there, watching her tickle Beauty, both of them laughing. She was so kind and gentle, and for someone this rich, playing with my daughter showed how humble she truly was. She eventually stood up and turned to me, folding her hands neatly in front of her. “So,” she said, “tell me, how is she truly doing?” “She’s fine, and it’s all thanks to you.” She tilted her head slightly, then smiled again. “Good.” It felt like the words lingered in the air for a few seconds. She stepped closer to me, her heels clicking against the floor. “About the job I promised you—” I instantly felt excited, but my heart was racing really fast. “So you will be responsible for the cleaning of the East Wing of the Estate. It’s large, but manageable. As you know, the Blaster Estate is massive, and there is cleaning every single day.” “Yes, ma’am.” She paused, then continued almost immediately. “You will also be involved in kitchen duties most days of the week.” The way she spoke was calm, pleasant even, but that authority was unmistakable. “I do not condone laziness, Mr. Sora. Such behavior will never be tolerated.” Her eyes stayed on me. “You are not saying anything. Are you not interested?” “No… no. Sorry… I mean, yes, I’m more than interested.” “Good,” she said, then pulled out a folder from her bag and handed it to me. I flipped through documents, contracts, payments and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe. I wiped my eyes, making sure I wasn’t hallucinating. “That’s how much you’d be getting paid.” She pointed out as if reading my thoughts. I gasped. This was more money than I’d ever received in any job that I’d had. I would finally have enough to take care of my daughter. Finally, this was all I’d ever wanted, and the Goddess answered all my pleas. It took everything not to break down in tears. “Thank you… thank you so much. I really don’t know what to say.” She didn’t say a word. She just walked toward the door, but before she left, she turned to me… “And Sora, it’s Lady Mirabelle.”SORA.“Hmmm. My pretty Omega missed me.” His low chuckle vibrated against my throat. My body stilled, heat flooding my face making me dizzy. My back pressed into the wall. Denying I didn't feel the same way should be easier. But this wasn't the usual Zane. His mouth was already moving, raising slow deliberate kisses down the side of my neck. I shivered, and a soft moan slipped, as his teeth grazed the sensitive skin below my ear.God damn it. How could I be so stupid? My hand flew to cover my mouth but he held it, pushing it past my head. “This looks familiar,” he breathed. “Z…Zane…” I stuttered. “You aren't calling me master anymore. I like it.”My pulse thumped. I squeezed my legs together, fighting against my arousal. Those eyes of his…held mischief. “Let's go over this one more time. Do you like me, Sora?” I stuttered, swallowing hard. His thumb brushed my lips, forcing my breath to become heavy. “I'm waiting, Sora. I need to hear it from you.” My head dipped. His lips
SORA.My heart shuddered at the door sound. Setting down the bowl of fruit on the table gently, while listening to his footsteps coming forward. The slices were cut evenly and I stood up straight. He wasn't close, and I turned to leave. “Oh God,” I held my chest. He was up in my face, loving eyes on one. He smiled weakly, like it excited him.“Scared?” “I've delivered the fruit, Master,” I managed, keeping my voice even. I moved back. “I can see that.”My head made a quick nod. “I'll take my leave now.”His arm grabbed me, holding my waist, stopping me. “Ehem. I…”“Shhh,” he whispered, pushing his warm body close to mine. Heat crawled up my neck. “I really have to get back to work…”“Stay.”That word left no room for argument. But if Mirabelle found out I wasn't at work…“I…”“Sora,” the tingly whisper halts me. My breath hitched hard when his hand slid lower, his fingers spreading over my waist. “I have missed you,” he whispered in my ear. “Master…Uhm. Zane. I…” the words s
MALPHAUS.I slammed the door of Zane's bedroom shut. A sharp pain pierced my skull. I grabbed my head and groaned loudly.Inside my mind, I felt Zane clawing his way up, fighting violently for dominance."Sit back, human," I ordered.I walked heavily to the mirror, clutching my chest. I stared at my reflection. My eyes flickered rapidly from pitch black to normal brown."Get out!" Zane's voice roared inside my head.I closed my eyes for a bit and struggled against his mental push. When I opened them, I breathed out and smiled wickedly. I started to laugh."Get out of my body!" Zane shouted again.I looked at the glass. Zane's face appeared in the reflection, clearly struggling but maintaining a surprisingly strong presence.I smirked wickedly. "That is no longer possible. I possess this body.""I am not going to let you take control of me in peace," Zane vowed."I already did," I taunted. "I was so close to killing your mother, but I decided to spare her.""You bastard!" Zane spat."T
SORA. "Bring me a towel!" Damien shouted. A bodyguard ran over immediately, handing him a thick white towel. Damien snatched it and began to dry my face and hair roughly."Ow," I groaned. “Be gentle.”"You're still talking?! Why did you go in?" Damien snapped. "How could you be so careless?"My body was still extremely weak. I tried to move, but I lost my balance. Damien caught me instantly, holding me perfectly still against him."You can let go now," I said.Damien ignored me. He held on tighter, then lifted me completely off the ground and carried me in his arms.Jane gasped loudly nearby."Put me down," I demanded. "We are in the open. I can walk.""Shut up while I'm being nice.”"I am really okay this time," I argued. "I can walk on my own."Damien stopped walking. He glared down at me. "If one more word comes out of your lips, you will hate me."I swallowed hard and kept quiet. I let him carry me toward the house.Suddenly, Damien stopped again. I looked up. His eyes were focu
SORA.“Don’t–no, please… don’t kill her…” My hands tightened into a fist, the image of sharpened claws about to drive into a female's neck made me scream. “Stop!”My eyes opened, a strangled breath escaping my throat. The air rushed through my lungs as I pushed myself upright, my body drained in sweat, with my heart pounding wildly. For a moment, it was real. The blood, scream, that voice that clung to me, the roar that refused to fade. My hands shook.Slowly, I turned my head to my side.Happy breaths came to me when I saw Beauty sleeping beside me. She was in a deep sleep, curled up under the blanket, untouched by my fear. “It was just a dream…” I whispered, slowly convincing myself. I forced myself out of bed, and the world spun violently the second my feet touched the floor. “Ah–!”My knees buckled, and my hand sprung out, catching the chair just in time, before I lost balance. I held onto it like my life depended on it, getting used to the darkness that went into my vision
MALPHAUS/DEMON POV.Gray smoke rose up through the floor vents, curling in on itself like a slimy nest of pitiful vipers on the cold stone floor. I breathed in deeply, that bitter, burnt night’s shade taste burning at the back of my throat. It tickled. If Lara the great witch only knew a few tricks like this, I’m strangely offended. But a smart predator sees an ambush in progress. Zane, the stubborn man that I’m chipping away at with the smallest part of his own mind, has power. I'll give him that. All I needed was to make him weak enough to never return. But first. I closed my eyes, rolled them back, and let the dead weight of a supreme alpha male fall onto the drug. Thud. I hit the floor with a clean crack, skull meeting tile with surgical precision. Zane’s going to feel that one later if I ever let him behind the wheel again. I’m having way too much fun already. I laid still, not moving a muscle, breathing shallowly and rhythmically. And I listened for the muffled panic
Chapter: 20*****ZANE:“Get out.”The words tore out of me before I could even realize what the hell I was saying.Sora flinched, looking utterly terrified and confused.“Now,” I yelled, stepping forward. He didn’t say anything, didn’t say a word. He looked like he couldn’t speak. He rushed past m
Chapter: 16 ****** ZANE: The woods were quiet, too quiet. No sound of animals or even birds. This was weird. There wasn’t even wind. There were just trees that stretched endlessly into the deep forest, their branches like skeletal hands reaching into the hazy sky. The ground was damp, the smell

Chapter 19 ****** SORA: Damien stood there, the expression on his face unreadable. His gaze moved from Zane to me, then back to Zane. My heart was racing so fast now. “Well,” he said slowly, stepping inside and closing the door behind him, “what’s… going on?” He lifted a brow. I straightened i
