LOGINChapter: 6
**** SORA: The rain wouldn’t stop, and it had been hours. I was freezing; so was Beauty. We had no roof over our heads. The only place I could find was a rotting building. The roof was dripping, the walls were falling apart, and that smell that probably came from a dead animal made it so hard to breathe. I held Beauty in my arms, shielding her as much as I possibly could, but we were both wet, and all our belongings were drenched by the rain. My arms ached from holding her for so long, and we were both really hungry. “Papa…” she whispered. Her body was shaking. I pressed a kiss to her forehead, and my heart dropped instantly. She was burning up again. “No… no, please,” I muttered. “Don’t do this to me.” I tightened my hold on her. I had no money to get her food or even medication. The only thing I could offer her was my warmth, and even that felt totally useless. Her small body in my arms was shivering, and she was burning up pretty badly. I hoped and prayed in my heart that the Goddess would look down on us with her eyes of mercy and protect my child. I used my jacket to cover her and protect her from the cold, but that was useless because the jacket was already half soaked. I rocked her back and forth like I used to when she was a baby. “Papa…” she whispered. “I’m here,” I said, fighting back tears. “Papa is here, okay?” “Can you sing me the honey song?” she said, her teeth chattering together. “Of course,” I said, and as I started singing, she joined in, her voice shaking and weak. I couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. They ran down my cheeks. “Don’t cry, Papa,” Beauty said, her voice really small. “I’m not,” I said quickly. “I think it’s the rain,” I lied. I felt my daughter dying in my arms, and there was nothing I could do about it—only hold her and cry. She was the only thing I had left. “Goddess, please, if you can hear me, I don’t want to lose my daughter.” I rested my head against the wall, letting the tears roll down the side of my face. Little by little, the rain began to reduce. I closed my eyes and went back to that night — the night I met her father. It's been almost five years, and I had been so drunk in his pheromones that I was willing to risk it all. Everything had happened so fast that I couldn’t even remember his face. Had I even seen his face? Right now, he was probably in his luxury mansion, sleeping in a warm and comfortable bed while his daughter was dying. Is he even alive? “Papa,” Beauty said. I snapped my eyes open and from the back of the building, someone walked toward us, flashing a bright light in our faces. The light was so blinding, I lifted my hand to shield my eyes. “What are you doing here?” the man said. “This is private property.” I couldn’t speak for a moment, but then I said, “Sir, it’s an abandoned building. No one is using it.” “I said it’s private property. You miscreants need to leave.” I stared at the man, who looked like he was in his mid-fifties. There was not a single ounce of compassion in his eyes. “Please… please, we have nowhere to go, and it’s already so late. I promise by morning we’ll be out of here. My daughter is sick, please.” He didn’t say anything for a moment. The sound of rain on the broken roof was the only thing we heard. Then he spoke. “You only have tonight.” Those words shocked me. “Thank you… thank you… thank you, sir.” He didn’t reply, just walked back the way he came. We’d be here for tonight, and I wasn’t sure where we’d be going tomorrow. I wasn’t even sure if we would survive until morning. I pulled Beauty closer to my chest, my body curling around her like I could shield her from the entire world if I tried hard enough, but I knew that wasn’t possible. Her breathing was shallow and uneven. Every rise and fall of her chest terrified the hell out of me. The rain reduced to a drizzle. My body felt numb, and the cold had seeped so deep into my bones. I was literally shaking. I wasn’t sure how long I could stay awake, but I was afraid that if I closed my eyes, something horrible would happen, and that was when I heard it. The sound was faint at first, but with every minute that passed, it became louder. It was a car. The headlights suddenly cut through the darkness, shining through the broken entrance to where we were. I tightened my hold on Beauty as panic began spreading through me. I raised my hand to shield the blinding light, then the car engine stopped. My heart instantly dropped when I heard footsteps heading toward where we were. The man must have called the owner of the property to come kick us out. When I lifted my head, I saw a woman who was impeccably dressed. She had on a long coat and held an umbrella. Her shoes looked like they had never touched the ground before. “What are you doing here?” she asked in a soft voice. “Please… please, we don’t have anywhere to go. I promise by morning we’ll be out of here.” She paused for a moment before she asked. “How long have you been here?” “Two days,” I said, clutching Beauty’s almost lifeless body closer. “She’s sick, isn’t she?” I nodded. “Yes.” She walked closer, staring at Beauty, who was now completely pale. “Come on,” she said. “I’ll get you shelter.” I was stunned by her words, but every nerve in my body told me not to go with her. I wondered what a woman like this was doing in a place like this at this time of night, but then again, she could be the owner of this place and had been called upon by the man from before. “Are you coming or what?” she asked, a bit irritated. “I’ll get her treated, but first, you both need to get out of here.” “Ma’am, I’m not sure I’ll be able to repay you for that. I really don’t have anything with me.” “You have nothing to worry about. I’ll get you a job.” She smiled, but it didn’t look genuine. I stared at my daughter, and all I wanted was for her to get better. I was probably overthinking things. Maybe this was the Goddess answering my prayers. With the last strength in me, I got up with Beauty in my arms, and we walked to her car. When we got in, it was warm, and it smelled so good. She got into the front seat, and in no time we were moving. “Ma’am… I didn’t get your name.” I saw her reflection in the mirror. She had a smile on her face. “My name is Mirabelle Blaster.”SORA.“Hmmm. My pretty Omega missed me.” His low chuckle vibrated against my throat. My body stilled, heat flooding my face making me dizzy. My back pressed into the wall. Denying I didn't feel the same way should be easier. But this wasn't the usual Zane. His mouth was already moving, raising slow deliberate kisses down the side of my neck. I shivered, and a soft moan slipped, as his teeth grazed the sensitive skin below my ear.God damn it. How could I be so stupid? My hand flew to cover my mouth but he held it, pushing it past my head. “This looks familiar,” he breathed. “Z…Zane…” I stuttered. “You aren't calling me master anymore. I like it.”My pulse thumped. I squeezed my legs together, fighting against my arousal. Those eyes of his…held mischief. “Let's go over this one more time. Do you like me, Sora?” I stuttered, swallowing hard. His thumb brushed my lips, forcing my breath to become heavy. “I'm waiting, Sora. I need to hear it from you.” My head dipped. His lips
SORA.My heart shuddered at the door sound. Setting down the bowl of fruit on the table gently, while listening to his footsteps coming forward. The slices were cut evenly and I stood up straight. He wasn't close, and I turned to leave. “Oh God,” I held my chest. He was up in my face, loving eyes on one. He smiled weakly, like it excited him.“Scared?” “I've delivered the fruit, Master,” I managed, keeping my voice even. I moved back. “I can see that.”My head made a quick nod. “I'll take my leave now.”His arm grabbed me, holding my waist, stopping me. “Ehem. I…”“Shhh,” he whispered, pushing his warm body close to mine. Heat crawled up my neck. “I really have to get back to work…”“Stay.”That word left no room for argument. But if Mirabelle found out I wasn't at work…“I…”“Sora,” the tingly whisper halts me. My breath hitched hard when his hand slid lower, his fingers spreading over my waist. “I have missed you,” he whispered in my ear. “Master…Uhm. Zane. I…” the words s
MALPHAUS.I slammed the door of Zane's bedroom shut. A sharp pain pierced my skull. I grabbed my head and groaned loudly.Inside my mind, I felt Zane clawing his way up, fighting violently for dominance."Sit back, human," I ordered.I walked heavily to the mirror, clutching my chest. I stared at my reflection. My eyes flickered rapidly from pitch black to normal brown."Get out!" Zane's voice roared inside my head.I closed my eyes for a bit and struggled against his mental push. When I opened them, I breathed out and smiled wickedly. I started to laugh."Get out of my body!" Zane shouted again.I looked at the glass. Zane's face appeared in the reflection, clearly struggling but maintaining a surprisingly strong presence.I smirked wickedly. "That is no longer possible. I possess this body.""I am not going to let you take control of me in peace," Zane vowed."I already did," I taunted. "I was so close to killing your mother, but I decided to spare her.""You bastard!" Zane spat."T
SORA. "Bring me a towel!" Damien shouted. A bodyguard ran over immediately, handing him a thick white towel. Damien snatched it and began to dry my face and hair roughly."Ow," I groaned. “Be gentle.”"You're still talking?! Why did you go in?" Damien snapped. "How could you be so careless?"My body was still extremely weak. I tried to move, but I lost my balance. Damien caught me instantly, holding me perfectly still against him."You can let go now," I said.Damien ignored me. He held on tighter, then lifted me completely off the ground and carried me in his arms.Jane gasped loudly nearby."Put me down," I demanded. "We are in the open. I can walk.""Shut up while I'm being nice.”"I am really okay this time," I argued. "I can walk on my own."Damien stopped walking. He glared down at me. "If one more word comes out of your lips, you will hate me."I swallowed hard and kept quiet. I let him carry me toward the house.Suddenly, Damien stopped again. I looked up. His eyes were focu
SORA.“Don’t–no, please… don’t kill her…” My hands tightened into a fist, the image of sharpened claws about to drive into a female's neck made me scream. “Stop!”My eyes opened, a strangled breath escaping my throat. The air rushed through my lungs as I pushed myself upright, my body drained in sweat, with my heart pounding wildly. For a moment, it was real. The blood, scream, that voice that clung to me, the roar that refused to fade. My hands shook.Slowly, I turned my head to my side.Happy breaths came to me when I saw Beauty sleeping beside me. She was in a deep sleep, curled up under the blanket, untouched by my fear. “It was just a dream…” I whispered, slowly convincing myself. I forced myself out of bed, and the world spun violently the second my feet touched the floor. “Ah–!”My knees buckled, and my hand sprung out, catching the chair just in time, before I lost balance. I held onto it like my life depended on it, getting used to the darkness that went into my vision
MALPHAUS/DEMON POV.Gray smoke rose up through the floor vents, curling in on itself like a slimy nest of pitiful vipers on the cold stone floor. I breathed in deeply, that bitter, burnt night’s shade taste burning at the back of my throat. It tickled. If Lara the great witch only knew a few tricks like this, I’m strangely offended. But a smart predator sees an ambush in progress. Zane, the stubborn man that I’m chipping away at with the smallest part of his own mind, has power. I'll give him that. All I needed was to make him weak enough to never return. But first. I closed my eyes, rolled them back, and let the dead weight of a supreme alpha male fall onto the drug. Thud. I hit the floor with a clean crack, skull meeting tile with surgical precision. Zane’s going to feel that one later if I ever let him behind the wheel again. I’m having way too much fun already. I laid still, not moving a muscle, breathing shallowly and rhythmically. And I listened for the muffled panic
ZANE:I drove the rest of the way in silence. I didn't know what the hell I was thinking, holding Sora's hand like that. I didn't know what possessed me. I had no idea what the hell I was doing anymore.‘You don't like him, Zane. All you need is just to stop thinking about him. It's not that hard.’
DAMIEN.The couch cracked under me.My head fell back, a deep groan ripping out of my chest as my hands found his hair.My legs were wide open as his mouth closed around my dick. I moaned, unable to hold it in anymore. My breathing became heavy. Oh God, this omega was good with his mouth. He took m
Chapter: 20*****ZANE:“Get out.”The words tore out of me before I could even realize what the hell I was saying.Sora flinched, looking utterly terrified and confused.“Now,” I yelled, stepping forward. He didn’t say anything, didn’t say a word. He looked like he couldn’t speak. He rushed past m
Chapter 18****SORA:I only asked because it didn’t feel right.Zane Blaster never stayed in his room past sunrise. That man loved working so much—sometimes I wondered why. He already had enough money for eight generations. I sighed. I would never understand rich people.I stopped one of the serva
