Breathless with desire, I opened my mouth to Jax's invasion as his large hands cupped my behind and gave it a hard squeeze that sent tingles all through me.

My body betrayed me by shuddering with excitement as he nibbled at my bottom lip before sliding his tongue past the seam of my mouth, making me gasp into his mouth with delight.

“Jax,” I rasped, whispering against his mouth. “You’re—” my voice cracked, “you’re messing with my head.”

He smiled, fingers digging into the fabric of my dress.

“Mission accomplished then.”

My lips parted to throw something sharp, but all that came out was a shaky breath.

He leaned closer, his breath hot against my cheek. “If you want me to stop, simply say the word. Mean it.”

As though the bond planned to mock my resistance, its pull roared through me. My knees buckled. I clung to his shoulders despite the scream in my head to stop.
