Valyne

I woke to something soft, looking at the white ceiling and familiar red paint with the faint smell of nature and carliac, I instantly realised that I was in my room.

“she spelled me.” I scoffed, more amused than angry.

Amused that she underestimated just how far I'd go to have my way and angry because like always she wants to protect me from all harm, shield me as usual all alone and without help.

Sigh.

They both stumbled backward, every last drop of color draining from their faces as the brutal reality set in: they were completely alone, their ancient backup gone without looking back.Without wasting a fraction of a second, Orion shifted, his feral beast exploding forward with a rabid snarl.Evren roared, shifting mid-stride into a monstrous blur of obsidian fur and razor claws. The two Lycans slammed together like colliding locomotives, locking into a violent, blood-drenched struggle that shook the very courtyard stones.Ophelia turned her venomous gaze on me, forcing a desperate, mocking sneer."What now?" she hissed, raising her chin. "Even the weak little witch thinks sh

The three days had dissolved into a tense, agonizing blur.By the time the heavy wrought-iron gates groaned open, we stood waiting in the courtyard, hearts hammering against our ribs, our lives hanging by a thread. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Evren, I watched the figures advance.Three elderly men walked side by side with light, eerily graceful steps, their ancient presence chilling the crisp morning air. Flanking them like eager hyenas were Ophelia and Orion."The rats who scurried to tell tales," I sneered under my breath. I should have known that after being cast out, Ophelia wouldn't take her humiliation lying down.My glare locked onto her like a crosshair. "You

Evren soon walked in.He paused near the doorway, watching me for a silent moment before crossing the floor with slow, measured strides. Without a word, he reached down, gently snapping the heavy tome shut and taking both of my trembling hands into his warm, calloused grip."You've been at this all day," he murmured, his thumb brushing over my raw knuckles. "You need to rest, Valyne. Your eyes are bloodshot from straining over ancient script for hours."I shook my head, my jaw tightening. "It's not enough. I have to be completely prepared for when they breach those gates. They aren't just an ordinary pack or a stray patrol. They are the Triad. We grew up hearing terrifying legends about them, but nobody truly knows the full extent of their strengt

ValyneAfter settling the twins down with a firm promise to take them to the amusement park, I made my way to Evren's study. My steps halted just outside the heavy double doors when a single word drifted through the wood, sharp as a blade:Triad.I froze, holding my breath and straining my ears to listen."Your Highness," a tense voice reported from inside, "one of my scouts just confirmed that Orion dragged Kell’s previous handler straight to the Triad council. He claims to have undeniable proof that you are harboring a rogue witch in your estate."

The next morning, my eyes blinked open to find a pair of dark pupils staring straight down at me, quiet contentment written in every line of his face.A sudden flush of heat rushed to my cheeks. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked, pulling the duvet higher.Evren shook his head slowly, his gaze never leaving mine. "You are the most breathtaking thing I have ever laid eyes on in my entire life. And I have lived long enough to see plenty. None of them could ever touch a speck of your dust, or even graze the hem of your dress."I let out an awkward, breathless chuckle, swatting weakly at his chest. "You're just saying that. Stop flattering me.""I'm not flattering you, princess,"

Valyne"I am not biting you," I whispered, feeling the atmospheric pressure shift as the magic in the room grew suffocating. He approached me slowly, his steps nearly soundless against the cold tiles. "I didn't say you had to right now. All I'm saying is that we have to complete the bond.""Or else what?" I rasped, clutching the sheets.Evren sighed, a weary, strained sound. "Or else this gets worse. Far worse than what you're dealing with right now.""I'd like to take my chances," I fired back through gritted teeth. He offered a curt, bitter nod. "Fine, then. If you nee
