“Please!!!”

A piercing scream sliced through the air. “I do not want to die!” The woman cried.

No one paid her any attention. They continued to tie her hands and legs to the horse.

“I'm sorry, I don't want to die. I have three children who need me.” She cried, “Let me go. Your highness.” She swallowed, “Have mercy on me.”

Lucien's gaze only remained on Nyssa.

He didn't know if he should call her smart or cold for not being shaken by the woman's pitiful scream.

“Please! Please!” She kept crying, and Nyssa signalled the warrior to loosen the rope of the woman and let her go.

He did as told and hissed, “Now, scramp.” The woman backed away quickly, leaving a disbelieving Gideon and a stunned Lucien.

He raised his brows at her. He thought she would prefer to die with her son. But she ran so quickly away from the scene, hiding from the eyes of everyone.

He raised his hand, giving them a go-ahead. Gamma Hume and the other two warriors slapped the back of the horses, causing the horses

  • Marked by Moon Fire   A New Council Member

The weather was bright the following morning. The curtains in the council room opened for the light of the day to slip in. The elders came in one after the other. Some rushed in late, and even Fabian, Beta of the Moonrage pack, had come in late while Lucien sat on the high table, waiting patiently for them all. They were clueless as to why a meeting should be held. Unlike before, everything was under control. At least, that was what they thought. When Fabian entered, Lucien’s jaw tightened. It took everything in him not to leap across the room and tear the man apart. Varn growled inside him, restless, craving blood. But Nyssa had a different plan for him. Fabian’s eyes flicked to Lucien more than once, searching, uneasy. Did Nyssa tell him? Did she expose what he had done? He clenched his fists, cursing himself for not cutting the rope himself, for not finishing Nyssa with his own hand. Those foolish boys had ruined everything. On his seat, his fingers clenched, yet his eyes star

“Papa, just listen to me.” Nyssa sighed. The old man has refused to give her an audience. She just cannot leave now. Especially not now. Alice stood by the side. She didn't want to leave the Moonrage pack as well. She has found friends here. For a long time, it has been just her and Papa Ganda. Until Nyssa came, now, they were in a pack. With pack members and people around. They aren't just three anymore. There's Lucy, Lillian, and random people she could speak with. “Nyssa, I have told you. We are leaving tonight.” Papa Ganda spat. “Fine,” Nyssa said, causing Alice's eyes to snap to her. They cannot leave. She expected Nyssa to stop Papa. Why was she agreeing with him? “Just give me three days.” Nyssa pleaded. “I need just three days.”Papa Ganda locked gaze with her, “What are you doing for three days?” He asked. The words rolling out of her tongue without any atom of shame, “I'd miss my bed. I haven't enjoyed it enough. So let me have three nights with my royal bed.” Pap

  • Marked by Moon Fire   Papa Ganda's worry

“Step aside. I want to see my daughter!” Papa Ganda's voice rang through the hallway. Behind him was Alice, who was trying to calm her father down. But Papa Ganda didn't listen. The moment Papa Ganda stepped into the Moonrage pack, the wind unpleasantly greeted him. His heart raced; he knew something was wrong. He rushed into the packhouse. When he got into his room, Alice was there. But Nyssa wasn't. “Papa!” She screamed, rushing into his hug.She was fine. She was safe. Then—-“Nyssa.” He called. Pulling Alice away from his embrace, he asked with urgency, “Where is she?” Alice frowned. “The last time I heard, she had a meeting with the Alpha.” Papa Ganda's eyes hardened. What did Lucien do? Without wasting a moment, he turned and began to walk out of the room with a large slide. Alice frowned and quickly followed. She raced behind him. “Papa. What's wrong?” She asked. “Did something happen?”Papa Ganda didn't reply. He was almost running with his long robe that he gathere

  • Marked by Moon Fire   I know

Seated beside the sleeping figure, Lucien opened the cup of ointment. He dipped his fingers inside and brushed off the damp strand of hair that stuck to her face. He slowly and carefully began to apply the ointment on the angry marks on her skin. When he reached her hands, his jaws clenched. Her wrists covered with bruises—marks of the ropes that had her bound like a criminal. His eyes hardened, a low growl deep within his chest. They would pay. Then—He moved. To tend to her cuts on her legs. Gentle and careful. Yet the violence continued to boil within him. Then— a stir. He froze. Slowly, his eyes travelled from her legs to her eyes to see her staring back at him. His lips parted, but no words came out. For a breath, neither of them spoke. The silence between them was heavy, charged.Nyssa realized she was in his room. He had a cup of ointment in his hands and was applying it himself to her scars. She realized her clothes were no longer wet, so she wasn't wearing the same cl

The slamming of the door caused everyone to freeze in panic. Heads whipped towards the door to see a massive wolf walking through. Eyes wide. The servants, maids and guards stood in fear. They had never seen a wolf as massive. The guards stood on alert to fight, drawing out their swords. Their trembling fingers gripped the swords tightly with wide eyes. They positioned, one leg forward and one backward, waiting for the wolf to attack. Varn growled at them. Yet, he didn't turn to attack. He walked towards the stairs. Then—They saw her. Nyssa. She lay on his back. Eyes closed. Clothes wet. Their eyes widened. Lucy rushed out of the left wing. She saw Varn and Nyssa on his back, looking lifeless. And ran towards them. She has been waiting in panic. “Get the pack healer.” She yelled, following Varn, who made his way up the stairs. Lucy's command pulls them all out of their trance. They hurried out, rushing to get the pack healer. On getting to his chamber, Varn pushed the doo

  • Marked by Moon Fire   His mate comes first

The wind blew heavier, adding weight to the fear in Fabian's heart. He turned to the boys, who still could not understand what was going on. He ordered, pointing towards the right.“There is a lake down there, behind the trees.” As he spoke in haste, his voice trembled, “I have connected to it. Cut it. Cut the rope immediately, and she’ll fall into the the lake.” He didn’t wait for their response. His feet slid across the dirt as he moved away, each step faster than the last. He tried to keep it casual, but his body betrayed him—Fabian was running. Running from what he felt closing in.Only Nyssa noticed. Her voice lashed at his back. “Fabian! Where are you going? Come back. Face him!”But Fabian refused to turn back. All he kept saying was, “Cut the rope. Now. Do it now.” The boys exchanged uneasy glances, still blind to the urgency. They couldn’t feel the weight in the air, couldn’t hear the warning carried on the wind. They had no idea what hunted them. One of the boys pulled
