The walk to the commoner's dungeon was a long one. People around watched as their princess, a strange girl, and five guards walked through the town heading to the commoners' dungeon.

No one spoke.

Not after Lillian asked Nyssa to bring a carriage, and Nyssa laughed.

“You're a prisoner, Lillian. Not a princess.” She reminded.

The pack members watched, but no one dared to stop them.

They've heard how a ruthless messenger from the North has come to tear down their pack completely. They knew the strange girl was that girl, but why were they heading towards the commoner's dungeon?

Lillian's feet hurt from the long walk. Sweat trickled down her forehead, her hands hurt from holding her gown for too long, and the tips of her ears had turned red.

The first thing that struck her was the stench— a mixture of rot and human waste. The air was buzzing with unseen flies. Each step she took made a squelching sound.

Her eyes burned as she raised her gown higher so it wouldn't sweep the filthy g

“What happened to your face?” The woman from the shadows asked. It was nightfall, and Nyssa had found herself always going down the chamber to the trap room to spend some time with the woman there. Ever since she knew that the woman was not a madwoman, she had been going there more often and just spoke to her. Today, the woman spoke back to her. She blinked. Her eyes shone, and her lips stretched into a wide smile.“You want to know?” Nyssa asked, smiling. Although the place barely had any light, the woman saw the ugly scar.“Yes.” The woman replied. “But don't come any closer.” Nyssa nodded and remained at the end close to the entrance of the trap door. “I was kidnapped and beaten, but someone came to save me,” Nyssa replied. Her heart swelled with joy that the woman asked her a question; she asked,“Can I know your name now?” But the woman turned away, her back to Nyssa. She began to murmur some words. Nyssa's eyes narrowed. What exactly did Alpha Mark do to her? She didn't

Nyssa rushed out of the council chamber, walking in haste back to her room. Every stride only deepened the ache that curled within her—his touch still burned on her skin, demanding more. More of him.Her fingers traced her stomach, feeling Lucien's touch still on her skin. ‘What is he doing to me?!’ she mentally screamed. She just wanted to get to her chamber. The moment she got into the pack house, a shriek pierced the air.“Nyssa!” Alice came flying toward her and threw herself into a fierce embrace. Nyssa staggered, then gave in to the warmth, her lips curving faintly in relief.“Congratulations!” She screamed as she pulled away from Nyssa, “I knew you had plans when you told Papa you just wanted to enjoy the comfort of your bed.” Alice giggled. Lucy arched her brows at Alice. She shook her head softly as she walked closer and gathered Nyssa into a steadier, quieter hug.“Congratulations. I'm so happy for you.”“Thank you, Lucy.” Nyssa finally found her voice. Footsteps soun

“Do not run away from me, Nyssa.” His voice came out firm and low. Nyssa's toes curled at his firm tone. Slowly and carefully, he pulled her closer to himself. One hand rested at the lower back while the other slowly intertwined his fingers with hers, as he dipped his head to the curve of her neck. “Nyssa… don't go.” His voice sounded like a melodious plea in her ear. She released a shaky breath. “I need you.” He whispered. Nyssa opened her mouth; she wanted to speak, but nothing was forming in her thoughts. Nothing other than the feel of his hot breath on her exposed shoulder, which ran down to the pool of her core, wetting her undergarment. Nothing other than the feel of his firm fingers locking with hers. Or his strong arm that rested at her lower back. She was a mess. A complete mess. In one swift move, Lucien picked Nyssa up, lifting her with both hands in bridal style. Nyssa yelled, eyes wide as she unintentionally wrapped her hands around his neck. “Lucien, what are you

After the meeting was finally dismissed, Nyssa was congratulated by many of the Elders as they made their way out of the council room. Elder Julius was the first to march out of the council room. Elder Grey grinned at her, “Congratulations.” “Thank you so much, Elder Grey.” Nyssa smiled. As for Elder Phillip, he continued to look at Nyssa with amazement. How did a slave make it to the council room?Even if no one spoke about it, he knew who Nyssa was. She was a slave whom they thought had been killed due to Elder Mark's command. Not only did she not die. She came back strong. He didn't go to her, but from a distance, he nodded before he left the room. When it was only Nyssa now, Elder Albert took the cue to walk towards her, his pace slow and careful. He noticed Lucien's gaze on him. Yet he didn't look at Lucien. “I must say, you're smart.” He stood beside her. Nysaa slightly turned to see who was speaking. She looked at the old man. He was the one who asked that a vote be d

  • Marked by Moon Fire   A New Council Member

The weather was bright the following morning. The curtains in the council room opened for the light of the day to slip in. The elders came in one after the other. Some rushed in late, and even Fabian, Beta of the Moonrage pack, had come in late while Lucien sat on the high table, waiting patiently for them all. They were clueless as to why a meeting should be held. Unlike before, everything was under control. At least, that was what they thought. When Fabian entered, Lucien’s jaw tightened. It took everything in him not to leap across the room and tear the man apart. Varn growled inside him, restless, craving blood. But Nyssa had a different plan for him. Fabian’s eyes flicked to Lucien more than once, searching, uneasy. Did Nyssa tell him? Did she expose what he had done? He clenched his fists, cursing himself for not cutting the rope himself, for not finishing Nyssa with his own hand. Those foolish boys had ruined everything. On his seat, his fingers clenched, yet his eyes star

“Papa, just listen to me.” Nyssa sighed. The old man has refused to give her an audience. She just cannot leave now. Especially not now. Alice stood by the side. She didn't want to leave the Moonrage pack as well. She has found friends here. For a long time, it has been just her and Papa Ganda. Until Nyssa came, now, they were in a pack. With pack members and people around. They aren't just three anymore. There's Lucy, Lillian, and random people she could speak with. “Nyssa, I have told you. We are leaving tonight.” Papa Ganda spat. “Fine,” Nyssa said, causing Alice's eyes to snap to her. They cannot leave. She expected Nyssa to stop Papa. Why was she agreeing with him? “Just give me three days.” Nyssa pleaded. “I need just three days.”Papa Ganda locked gaze with her, “What are you doing for three days?” He asked. The words rolling out of her tongue without any atom of shame, “I'd miss my bed. I haven't enjoyed it enough. So let me have three nights with my royal bed.” Pap
