Xena’s POV

I couldn’t stop shaking, it felt like my whole world flashed in front of my eyes and I wasn't even the one in pain.

Kael was on the floor, his whole body trembling, his face was pale, drenched in sweat. His shirt was soaked through. His chest rose and fell with sharp, painful breaths. His ice-blue eyes had turned black. They were glowing in the dark.

It didn’t look human. It didn’t even look like Kael anymore.

My heart dropped to the depth of my stomach when my nose picked up the scent.

“Wolfsbane.”

He was injecting himself with wolfsbane.

Why would he do that? Was he trying to kill himself? Or was he doing drugs? Kael doesn't look like someone who does drugs and even if he does, which is not my business, why the hell would he use wolfsbane?

He might be a Lycan Lord but that doesn't make him invisible. The right amount can kill him and it looks like he took the right amount.

“Kael! Kael, talk to me!” I shouted, kneeling next to him.

He didn’t answer.

His teeth were cle

Kael’s POVI sat in my car, staring at Icho's house from afar. Icho’s house looked like it hadn’t seen a broom in a decade. If this was how divorced men looked like then I never want to get divorced. The moon shone brightly, casting soft glows on the rooftop making it look like crystals. Suddenly my phone rang. It was Viktor. “Where the hell are you, man?” he questioned. “Hunting,” I replied calmly. My eyes never leaving the door. “Without me?” He asked, his voice filled with disapproval. “C'mon, I thought we were in this together?”“I told you, I got this one, someone's has to pay for my car,” I smirked and ended the call as soon as the last maid walked out. I looked at the rare mirror, running a hand through my hair. I was about to play the most interesting game of my time, I had to look my best, even though I did look my best. I got out of the car and walked calmly towards the house, my eyes scanning around the area like a thief trying to break in. I knocked on the door. The

  • Marked by betrayal, bound to the Lycan Lord.   Ghost from the past

Xena’s POVI sat alone in the backseat of the car, hugging my arms tightly around myself. Viktor came just in time to take Kael away, allowing me to escape today, but I knew deep in my bones—I wouldn't be that lucky next time. His warning kept playing in my head. A man who didn't hesitate to kill his own blood would not think twice in killing a bastard child. I understand he doesn't want a bastard child to become the next Alpha but what kind of bastard kills innocent kids. I rubbed my belly like I could protect the baby with just my touch. Maybe I could bargain… maybe I could run but to where? Impure wolves were not humans, they would be killed if spotted, I haven't heard of one that was left alone. Staying with Kael was my only option for now but that also means I would lose my child. I swallowed hard, tears threatening my eyes. I didn't know what to do next, even though the child belonged to Jason, that asshole that cheated on me with my sister, I still wanted to keep the child—

Xena’s POVI ran to my room like the devil was chasing me. My heart was pounding so hard I thought it would jump out of my chest. I slammed the door shut behind me and locked it, pressing my back to the door, trying to catch my breath. My cheeks were burning, and I felt like I was about to explode.Susan turned to me, her eyes widened in curiosity. “Did you see it?” She asked, rushing towards me. Depends on what you mean, because I saw a lot. “What happened? You look like you saw a ghost,” she stopped, fear slowly replacing the spark of curiosity in her eyes. “Were you caught?I didn’t say a word. I couldn’t. My lips were still tingling, and I could still feel Kael’s breath on my skin. “Tell me,” she spat, holding me. “Did Kael catch you?” I ignored her, my eyes flickering past her. The scene playing in front of me. How I watched Kael get naked and how I tried to run away and the worst… the kiss. What the hell happened? That couldn't have been Kael, I mean, Kael Noirfang who woul

Xena’s POV I sneaked into Kael’s room quietly. And yes, I know that was stupid but there is no great reward without taking some risks. And besides, this wasn't the first time I'm doing something stupid, so I'm kind of used to Kael's bullying. My heart was beating fast, and my hands were shaking a little. As soon as the door shut, I let out a sigh of relief, trying to catch my breath, one that I didn't even know I was holding till now. I glanced around the room making sure no one was in the room and by no one, I meant Kael. He wasn't home yet but I wouldn't be shocked he was just hiding in his room. “Focus, Xena,” I said to myself, finally having the courage to push my back off the door. I need to find what I came here for and get the hell out of here before anyone catches me. I was just looking for his schedule book. Susan said he always kept one, and if I found it, I could know where he was going and who he was meeting and set up a very beautiful trap for Chloe. I quickly mo

Xena’s POV. The coffee shop was quiet, with soft music playing in the background. I sat near the window with Lady Megan across from me. She was stirring her tea slowly, her sharp eyes focused on me.“So,” she said, “tell me everything you know about Chloe and Anna.”I froze, placing my cup on the table gently. “What do you mean?” “Aren't you two sisters?”I nodded in affirmation. “What caused the huge rift between the two of you? Don't tell me it's because you are impure, I know it's deeper than that.”I inhaled deeply, moving forward. “I don't know,” I muttered. “She never liked me and after my mother died— our mother, she broke completely, she slept with my fiance and sold me to Kael.”Lady Megan's eyes widened in shock. Every line on her face told me that she was horrified by my story. “Couldn't you have resisted?” She finally found her words. “How?” I smiled faintly. “I am just an impure wolf with nowhere to go, they threatened to report me to the council and that would have

Kael's Pov“Diego!” I shouted, stepping into the warehouse. I pinched my nose as the smell of oil and gunpowder hit me like a punch to the face.Eyes turned to me as Viktor and I approached them. The two parties glanced at each other, tensed and muttering in Spanish. The other party's boss turned to Diego with a death glare, slowly bringing out his gun. “¿Qué carajo es esto?!” he yelled. “You bring him here?! Are you trying to set us up, Diego?!”Both parties looked shocked and disoriented, they all drew out their guns, ready to pull the trigger. “¡Silencio!” Diego barked, his hands raised, trying to calm his people. “Nadie se mueve.” He turned to the other boss. “Brother, I don't know these people,” he defended. I scoffed loudly. Diego turned to me with a glare. “Who the hell are you?”I stepped forward slowly, my hands tucked in my pocket. “Someone you shouldn't have messed with.”He scoffed, exchanging glances with his people. He walked closer to me, his eyes darting to Viktor
