Damien's POV

Desmond moved before I could stop him.

One moment he was beside me, breathing hard, blood soaking through his cloth. The next, he was on his feet, sword out, body angled in front of me like he still had strength to spare.

“Stay back,” he warned, voice shaking.

I heard the lie in it.

His knees hit the ground a second later.

His hand flew to his ribs, fingers pressing hard, like he could force the pain back inside. Still, he didn’t drop the sword. He stayed in front of me.

“Desmond,

Even the smallest movement made her turn quickly, her hand going straight to the dagger at her side.It was clear she had not forgotten what happened to her during the war. The fear was still there, hidden under the way she carried herself.Damien kept his attention on the map in his hands. He barely looked up as he walked. No matter how much I tried to see what was on it, the markings made no sense to me.After a short distance, voices began to rise in the air. It sounded like a gathering. There was laughter, distant howls, and the crackle of what felt like a bonfire.Damien lifted his head and listened. • Marked by my father's enemy alpha    Not the blackthorne way

Lira's POV Salcan took his place at the center of the stage, and I studied him closely. My eyes lingered on his face, his posture, and how carried himself. There was definitely something different about him. The light from the torches reflected off him in a strange way. I thought that was what had caught my attention. But the longer I looked at him, the more I realized it wasn't the lighting at all. The first thing I noticed was his hair. Silver strands had begun to appear among the dark ones. I had known my father my entire life, and in our family, silver hair only appeared in the women. Seeing it on him immediately told me that something had gone terribly wrong. Then there were his eyes. They had always been a deep brown. On every full moon, especially when he drew power from the moon, they would turn gold, just like every other alpha. But now, they were silver. A chill ran through me. I had only seen eyes turn that color once before, and I remembered exactly what had fol

Lord Marco's POV Twenty feet away. Ten minutes to intercept. That was how close we were to the estate gates and how much time I had to get my daughter out if our plan failed. The second batch of my men, the ones I had kept at another base, had arrived with more equipment. They stood a few me

Alia's POVThe next few hours after stepping into the underground bunker were the most boring of my life. It felt like I had been there for days. Lira's POV The waiting was driving me crazy. Divine had not moved since the mixture was given to her. She lay there completely still, like nothing had changed at all.
