Damien's POV

The moment I stepped into the courtyard and shouted, “Enough” my voice echoed loud enough for everyone to hear. For a moment, I thought it might change something. But nothing did. The beta with a knife at Seav's throat didn't flinch. Not even a little.

“Alpha, you should be resting,” Aragon said cautiously, his tone almost sounding like he was pleading.

“Don't tell me what to do,” I said angrily. “If I'm your Alpha, you're not supposed to be giving me directions.” I tried to speak those words with more authority but inside I felt empty. “What's going on here?” I asked.

From the crowd, one of the other Betas spoke up. “We don't have an alpha.”

Aragon shot him a warning glare. “Do not speak like that.”

“Oh please,” the Beta scoffed. “Save me the instructions. We saw it happen. We saw it at the border. We're being too sentimental. The pack needs a new Alpha. That's the way it's done.”

Aragon tried to rein them in, his voice echoing through the courtyard. “Let me remi

  • Marked by my father's enemy alpha    The moment we've all been waiting for

The General's POV I couldn't help but get lost in my thoughts as we marched. The journey to the campsite felt endless. My eyes kept drifting to him. He was a man of surprises and I couldn't trust him.The war hadn't even started yet but he had already seen himself as a victor. He believed he held the upper hand, that the world had finally bent to his will. He thought I was on his side. But I never forgot. The night he turned his back on me. Years ago, he had come to me desperately, his voice trembling as he spoke of his child. He begged for my help and gave me assurance that he would do what I asked in exchange for my help. I did everything I could to help. I pushed the limits of what should have been possible. However, the problem he presented was something science could not solve. When I failed to reverse what had already been done to his child, Salcan's promises became dust. He twisted the story, making it seem like I refused and painting me as a monster. Everyone had decided who

  • Marked by my father's enemy alpha    The mission that changed it all

Lira's POV I nodded at Lord Marco signalling that I understood the plan. Every detail he had laid out was perfect. Yet, I couldn't shake off the heaviness in my heart. Back in my old life, before I got my wolf, before all this, I complained about being alone, about nobody caring, about how dull life had been. And now I had Syvira, I carried an even heavier burden. The thought that Damien might never get the cure before the next full moon clawed at me. What would that mean for him and the Blackthornes? The very idea of losing him–of losing everything hurt more than I could have ever imagined. While Lord Marco and the others were preparing, I moved closer to Matthew. He lay nearby and Alia sat close. “How are you feeling Matthew?” I asked softly, trying to focus on something else. He shrugged. A small smile tugged at his lips. “I'm fine. Alia is keeping me entertained with stories about the house. I chuckled slightly, though it sounded forced. “Well, bore me with your stories

  • Marked by my father's enemy alpha    The better version of the General

Lord Marco's POV I watched Lira closely, taking in the way her face fell the moment I told her the truth–that what the General had done would become permanent by the next full moon if we didn't act quickly. Her expression was glum, almost as if the mute button had been pressed. Not a word escaped her lips. I understood how she felt. If I were in her shoes, I would be just as shaken. It wasn't just about the cruelty of my brother. It ran deeper. My brother had always acted as though the werewolf lands would never interest him as much as they do now. But his purpose was finally clear. We wanted to be among them so badly. He still clung on to old wounds from the past with Damien and me. But dwelling on that in front of Lira would do nothing to ease her pain. What mattered now was action. And I had to help her. She has risked her life to save Alia. She always put others first at great personal cost–a trait he shared in common with my wife. “Lira,” I said gently.” Breaking the silence

  • Marked by my father's enemy alpha    Hiding behind Lumina

Salcan's POV I didn't stop my horse until I was sure we were a good distance away. I looked back and there was no more gunfire. The General pulled up beside me, his horse stumping recklessly. “Do you think they are still trailing us?” I asked him. He was too busy catching his breath to give me a response. "Who were those people?” I asked curiously. “The way those bullets were flying–they could only be from the human lands. I thought you were the only one who used weapons like that? Are they trying to compete with you?” I clenched my jaw. Those bullets were not ordinary. The guns were obviously being controlled by skilled men. Whoever fired them knew exactly where to aim. “I don't know who they are,” the General said finally. “And I wasn't about to turn back to find out. That would've earned me a bullet to the spine.” “The first thought that came to my mind as we dodged the bullets was my men,” I continued. “Imagine I hadn't commanded them to camp a few miles away while we go

  • Marked by my father's enemy alpha    First step to a cure

Lira's POV “So you mean you were spying on me?” Alia snapped. “I can take care of myself. I didn't need someone trailing me.”Lord Marco didn't say anything. He just smiled.“I know you can,” he said calmly. “That was never in doubt. However, the lands are no longer what they used to be. Politics has made wolves draw border lines. Things like that can endanger your life.”Alia huffed and folded her arms, but she didn't interrupt this time.“If I hadn't sent someone to keep an eye on you,” he went on. “I wouldn't have known when things went wrong. I wouldn't have known you were cast out.”That showed how much he knew about the werewolf lands although he didn't live there.“And then there's the rest of it,” Lord Marco added, lowering his tone. “What happened in Blackthorne? I heard the General used something on Damien. My sources didn't tell me what it was. That's why I want to hear from you.”I exhaled, my voice sounding shaky in the tunnel. “It's a long story…” I said. “But in summar
