Alia’s POV

My room was quiet when I returned,my mind was troubled.

I closed the door behind me and leaned on it, closing my eyes as I exhaled the breath I’d been holding since the corridor. The council’s voices echoed loudly in my head.

She's the Enemy.

We should kill her.

My hands trembled. I squeezed them into tight fists.

“Why am I even here…” I muttered to myself as I walked to the bed. “Why did he let me stay? Why is everyone acting like I’m a bomb waiting to go off?”

“Mmmphhhhh” I let

ALIA POVThe battlefield had never felt this crowded before.Wolves lined the edges in tight rows, each one mummering with their partners and friends. Some watched me with curious eyes. I had met the eye of a beta wolf guy staring intensely at me. I frowned my face and glared daggers at him. He quickly averted his gaze.” Serves him right” I muttered. A whole lot of them had a pitiful look on, I guess they think this is our end,” Kayla said.Well, let's prove them wrong. I felt a confidence boost of adrenaline through my veins. I guess I am not dying today. Judging by the way the crowd looked, it seems they've already given a verdict. They crowned their winner before the fight even started.“Am going to prove them wrong, they crowned the wrong champion.”I stepped onto the sand, my boots sinking slightly into the ground. My fingers tightened around the hilt of my sword. The metal felt familiar. Steadier than the first time I held it here. The feeling grounded me, even as my heart race

  • Marked by the alpha's curse    Chapter 30

Alia POVI didn’t wait long before visiting Lauren. The moment the sun rose fully, casting its yellow light through my window, I was already on my feet. My heart still hasn’t slowed from the experience before. I still felt it, every emotion. The woman in the forest. Her blue eyes. The way she looked at me was like she knew me better than I knew myself. And the mud that had magically appeared on my floor. Not to mention the cut on my leg. It all felt…too much.Dreams didn’t leave footprints.Lauren was already awake when I reached her hut. The scent of herbs and smoke clung to the air, familiar and strangely comforting. She looked up the moment I stepped inside, her sharp eyes narrowing.“You look like someone who didn’t sleep,” she said.“I slept,” I replied quietly. “But I don’t think I stayed in my bed.”That got her attention. Her eyes focused on me as I spoke.I told her everything.About the woman. The forest. The house. The crows with three eyes. The book. The way the dream fel

  • Marked by the alpha's curse    Chapter 29

Alia POVEvery time I closed my eyes, I saw the woman's face again. Those blue eyes that looked too much like mine. The forest felt eerie around us, ancient and alive. The way she had said my wolf was locked away for my own safety.I sat up in bed before dawn, my heart racing.Mud still clung faintly to my feet. I had scrubbed them twice the night before, yet it still stuck to me as if it had soaked into my skin. I lifted my leg and stared at the thin cut along my calf.It was real.I pressed my fingers against it and sucked in a breath as pain flared. “How is this possible? How did my dream reflect in the real world, or did I sleepwalk?” I thought hard as I stared at the muddy footprints on the floor.”No, if I had sleepwalked that far, the guards would have stopped me. Hahhh, what's happening to me?” I groaned in frustration as I lay my head down.“I need to speak to Lauren, she'll be able to help me” I felt a little better with the thought.Suddenly, my bracelet glowed brightly on

Alia POVSleep hardly came. It was already past midnight when I came back to my room.I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling for a long while, my mind clouded with memories. Every time I closed my eyes, I felt him again. Kael’s hands. His mouth. The way his breath had trembled against my skin like he was barely holding himself together.I smiled to myself before I could stop it.My fingers lifted, brushing my lips gently, as if they might still be warm from his kiss. My heart fluttered, light and reckless, filled with a happiness that scared me because it felt so rare. For once, I did not feel hunted. For once, I did not feel alone.Eventually, I drifted into the dark.I found myself in a forest. It felt familiar, like I had been here before. The air was cool and damp. Moonlight filtered through twisted branches above me, silver and eerie. I knew this place. I have been here before. The same forest from my first dream. The one that I remember clearly like it was real.Something moved

Alia POVThe moment the words left Kael’s mouth, the world around me froze.“I already told you that no one is allowed to be this close to you. Just me.” his words echoed in my head. The fire crackled behind us. Laughter rang far away, distant as if it wasn't real. All I could hear was my own heartbeat, loud in my ears.I felt embarrassed as I saw the look and whispers around us. Then, suddenly, a rush of anger and annoyance flooded me.“You don’t get to say that,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “You don’t get to decide who touches me Kael.”Kael’s jaw clenched. His eyes burned like the flames. Before I could say another word, his hand closed around my wrist and he pulled me away from the bonfire, away from curious eyes. I stumbled after him, my heart racing as the noise faded and the forest swallowed us whole. He stopped abruptly in a small clearing, light barely reaching us. Shadows clung to the trees. The night felt alive, watching.I yanked my hand free quickly.“You embarrassed

Alia POVLiora focused on me like I was a canvas she had been waiting her whole life to paint.“Stand still,” she warned, narrowing her eyes as she held the dress up against me. “If you move one more time, I swear I’ll leave you looking like a frightened village girl.”I laughed softly. “That’s already what I am.”She snorted. “Well, not tonight.”The dress she chose was simple, but beautiful in its own quiet way. A short gown, the colour of deep midnight blue, soft fabric that hugged my waist and fell lightly over my thighs. It wasn’t revealing, yet it clung in places that made me suddenly aware of my body. The neckline was modest, but it framed my collarbones beautifully. When I slipped it on and looked at myself, I barely recognised the girl staring back.Liora clapped her hands in satisfaction. “Perfect. You're looking stunning, Alia.”She pulled my hair loose and worked it into soft waves, pinning part of it back so it framed my face instead of hiding it. Then came the makeup. It
