LOGIN"I found Miss Renata," Marvin exclaimed.
His words instantly halted Melvin's steps. "Y-you found her? Where? Where did you find her? Tell me, where did you find her?" Marvin was now bombarded with questions from his superior, leaving him not knowing how to answer the man in front of him. Melvin was so enthusiastic about what Marvin had said; he wanted to meet Renata immediately. "In Germany," Marvin answered briefly. Hearing that his lover had been found made Melvin feel a sense of relief; the man did not know what to do, his footsteps confused about where to step. Marvin, seeing this, could clearly judge that his boss was happy with the information he had just conveyed. "Cancel all my schedules; I don't want anything causing me to cancel going to Germany, and prepare a flight for me, I will go alone to pick her up," Melvin said. "B-but, what about Mrs. Danas, and if you leave—" Hearing Danas's name mentioned made him instantly frustrated as the feeling of happiness vanished immediately. "Argh. Annoying. Just leave her be." Marvin scratched his head; he did not understand his superior's train of thought. Leaving a woman with the status of a wife for a girl who had left him. He even assumed that his boss had been under a spell that made him love that woman so much while neglecting his wife. "Very well, I will book a ticket for you, Sir." Melvin nodded his head. "Good, good," he muttered softly while pacing back and forth. A happy expression was visible on his face. "No... no, I must go with that woman. I am afraid that if someone asks about me, I must supervise her so she doesn't leak any secrets." Hearing the hazel-eyed man's words made Marvin trace a faint smile. "Do you want a honey—" "No." Melvin instantly cut off his handsome assistant's words. "What for a honeymoon? I won't do it with that disgusting woman. I am going there to look for Renata, not to sleep with that girl," Melvin asserted. Melvin looked at Marvin seriously, the man resting his hands on his hips. "Go pick her up, I will wait at the airport." "Understood." All along the way, Marvin grumbled and even occasionally cursed. "If he hates her, why marry her in the first place, let alone treat her unlike a proper wife? A beautiful girl, an independent woman, many people like Mrs. Danas, but—" His words choked. "Yeah, maybe I would be like Sir if I were in his position," he muttered softly. "But I feel sorry for Madam." For a moment he stopped complaining. "But why am I stressing over Mr. Melvin's family matters? That's his business; I am just executing his orders." The man looked silly, talking and complaining to himself. "Right, I don't need to think about what I shouldn't be thinking about," he muttered as he turned off the car engine. Now his footsteps searched for Danas throughout the house, but he did not find the girl inside. "Has Mr. Melvin returned?" A voice startled him. "N-no," he answered slightly stammering. "Where is Mrs. Danas?" "She is in the back garden." Hearing that made him walk toward the garden behind Melvin's house. Danas was seen smiling while feeding the fish in the pond. There was a slight flutter in his heart upon seeing Danas's so soothing smile, to the point that it made him touch his chest. Slap! Instantly, he slapped his cheek softly. "Wake up, Marvin, don't fall in love or you will be hanged by Mr. Melvin for liking his woman." The man let out a long sigh. "Madam..." he called. Danas, who had been smiling, instantly put on a terrified face upon seeing Marvin. "H-has he returned?" "No, it's just me," Marvin answered, causing a slight change in Danas's face. "So why did you come alone?" asked Danas, curious about the man's arrival. "Sir will be leaving for Germany; he wants me to pick you up." "G-Germany?" Marvin nodded his head. "The plane will depart at 2 PM; Madam can still pack first. There is no need to bring clothes; you can buy change of clothes when you arrive in Germany later." Danas only gave a wry smile. Melvin's return always made her body respond with fear toward the man. Even hearing that name spoken gave her goosebumps. "You only need to change clothes." Danas turned her body, causing Marvin to stop abruptly and bump into the girl. "I-I'm sorry," he said while stepping back a few paces. "Could you wait for me for a moment?! I promise I won't be long." Marvin nodded slowly. "Lord, I hope you don't hear my heart beating like this," he prayed. "Damn it, don't fall in love with your boss's wife, Marvin," he cursed at himself while lightly slapping his cheek. "Marvin, pull yourself together," he slapped himself again. "What are you doing?" Danas asked. "N-nothing, I will wait for you in the car." The car now approached a private jet. Marvin stepped out first, then he opened the door for Danas. "Please, Madam, Sir is waiting for you," Marvin said with a smile. Somewhat hesitantly, the girl stepped up the stairs. "Please, Madam." Sighing softly, she prepared herself for what would happen inside when meeting Melvin. Only a smile was offered to those working for her husband; at least she wanted to leave a good impression. Upon just stepping inside, the first thing she saw was Melvin's hazel eyes staring at her coldly. Seeing that cold facial expression made her heart ache. It felt as though there were no feelings of liking for her, only hatred bestowed by her husband upon her. She was not asking to be loved by the man; she just wanted to be respected as a wife. Which wife could endure the cold expression given by her husband? She was also just a woman who possessed feelings of wanting to be valued. "I am your wife, could you not look at me with a gaze as if I were your enemy?" she asked in her heart. The girl did not dare to say what she was thinking. She chose to sit across from Melvin, looking out the window, served by a flight attendant who offered her a drink. "No, thank you," she said, declining. Melvin glanced across. His wife was looking out the window, and Danas was seen tying up her hair, exposing her slender neck. She did not even realize that the man across from her was staring at her. "Fasten your seatbelt, or do you want to die here?" Melvin ordered upon seeing Danas not wearing her seatbelt. The girl obeyed her husband's command. When the plane reached high altitude, there was only silence. A few flight attendants on duty merely cast their glances toward the husband and wife. "Are they having a fight?" whispered one of them, causing Marvin to look in their direction. "Come closer, you don't want them to think that we are fighting, do you?" Melvin's voice made Danas glance at him. "Will you come over here or should I come to your spot?" Danas remained silent, not answering. "Danas," Melvin called. This time his voice was somewhat raised."What're you guys talking about?"Danas looked toward the man beside her. There was a little fear in Danas's eyes when Melvin asked her."Did you suddenly become mute after laughing so contentedly when you were with that girl?""Alexa Amareta—her name is.""So her name's Alexa." Melvin nodded slowly."She was only telling a funny story, that's all."Melvin stared at the girl beside him, as if not believing what Danas said. A gaze full of scrutiny."She asked when we met and fell in love, but I didn't answer her.""Just as I thought, she definitely approached you to ask something like that. Don't meet with her again; she has bad intentions to find out about our relationship."Danas looked down for a moment, then turned to look out the window.Melvin's words made her realize one thing—that their relationship wasn't fit to be publicized to many people. Becoming the wife of a Melvin was a problem for her, and she knew it too.
Danas's eyes widened when there was a soft touch on her neck. The man holding her tightened his embrace, making her unable to move.It happened for only a few moments, after which Melvin tried to distance himself from the girl by pushing Danas's body, then pulling her back into his embrace."Are you flirting with me?" Melvin asked."N-no, I'm not flirting with you.""Then why're you—"Seeing Danas looking down out of fear made Melvin let out a quiet snort. His ego prevented him from accepting that he was the one tempted, yet once again he refused to admit it.There was an overwhelming craving deep in his heart; the scent of Danas's body seemed to entice him to taste her body."Damn it, why's she tempting me? Her body scent makes me feel so comfortable," he cursed.The mood of the room was still dark, with the piano melody continuing, and the dance wasn't over yet. Several people had joined in on the dance floor, while Danas could only le
Melvin's car stopped in front of a building, with several people ready to welcome him. Melvin looked at Danas, making the girl's body stiffen. It was as if that man's treatment toward her left a mark, causing her body to react whenever the man let out his deep voice."Remember, don't do anything that's gonna embarrass me, or you know the consequences," Melvin threatened. Danas nodded slowly."Good, be a good girl, or you'll find out the consequences," Melvin whispered, once again giving Danas goosebumps with the last sentence spoken by Melvin.Someone had opened the car door, causing Melvin to get out first. The man immediately stood near the car door while extending his hand.There was hesitation when Danas tried to reach for that muscular hand; even Melvin smiled at her, making her a bit afraid. She clearly knew that the man was forcing a smile to cover up everything and didn't want to get gossip about their relationship not being alright.Melvin gave a si
Danas sobbed for a moment, crying silently. What does it feel like to cry silently? So miserable; the heart still holds so much suffering inside, while not wanting anyone to know that we're suffering so much.The self in the mirror made it very clear that she was so fragile."Oh no, I ruined her makeup," she gasped while looking left and right for tissues.Because she didn't find any tissues, Danas tried to wipe her tears with her hands."Oh no, you're ruining it," gasped Mike, who saw it and then hurriedly stepped closer. "Why? Are you sweating? Don't wipe it with your hands. Wait a second, I'll get you some tissues."The man hurried out of the room to grab tissues."When's it gonna be done? Why're you making me wait so long?"Melvin was sitting with his legs and arms crossed. Right now his eyes were staring toward Mike."Be patient just a little longer. You'll get a perfect result, Mr. Melvin. I promise you'll fall in love over and over agai
No one dared to speak. Throughout the trip there was only silence; Danas was even so terrified while sitting with the man who was with her. Her body stiffened, with her hands clenched tightly."Don't embarrass me, tonight we're having dinner with my client. You've got to change your clothes.""I-I—""I hate refusal, my word is law," Melvin interrupted.Now Danas didn't want to argue anymore; everything she wanted to say wouldn't be heard by Melvin anyway. The man beside her was so intimidating to her. She wanted to ask about what mistake she had made, who she had killed, but she was never allowed to speak.Grumble...Danas held her stomach as an unwanted sound was heard. Since this morning, she hadn't had breakfast because she had to rush to campus."Phew!" Melvin, who heard it, let out a sigh. "We'll stop by a restaurant first," Melvin ordered."Alright, sir.""This is Mr. Rajo; he's the one who'll drive you to campus and also pick
"Hey, Dan. It's unusual for you to take a cab, you usually take the bus," greeted a woman just as Danas stepped out of the taxi. "I didn't know you took a few days off, I even called you, but it wouldn't connect."The girl let out a sigh; there was a sense of relief, yet her body felt broken right now, especially when they had just arrived from Germany and Melvin had given her so much work to do.Danas looked back to see who was greeting her."Ah, it's you, Dav."A short-haired girl with neatly arranged bangs, coupled with pink lipstick on her lips, made her face look beautiful. Davina Rahwani—her best friend."Of course it is," the girl responded while patting Danas's shoulder."Ouch..." she winced."W-what's wrong? Why're you wincing?""N-nothing's wrong," Danas answered, trying to hide the fact that her body had bruises on it."Is it really nothing? You're different than usual, you look pale and exhausted.""Yeah, I'm fine.
"You deserve it, worth suffering. You murderer."Danas shook his head, trying to shake off what Melvin had said last night. Her husband's words made her mess up. The accusation that he gave. He didn't do it."I-I'm not a murderer," she thought as she shook her head.The knife in her hand was choppi
"Why are you married to that woman?" asked a man who had just arrived and was cooking vodka."Why do you still ask? Obviously, I want to make her suffer.""Marry the girl and then make Renata suffer? Selfish!"Melvin looked at the man in front of him, shaking the glass filled with beer and a few pi
"This is the room for you," Melvin said, opening the door to the room he was referring to."T-this-"Uhuk! Uhuk!Danas coughed, shaking his hands to keep the dust from making him cough. The room was dusty and dirty, and many unused items were there.His mouth dropped open at the sight of the room b
"Do you think I'll just let you go, Danas?" asked Melvin, gripping a girl's jaw.Emotion could be seen on the man's face; emotion was drawn from his eyes. A look of fear was visible on the girl he called Danas, more fully named Danas Cakrawala."Melvin. Let go. It hurts." Danas's voice was so weak;
