"Do you think I'll just let you go, Danas?" asked Melvin, gripping a girl's jaw.Emotion could be seen on the man's face; emotion was drawn from his eyes. A look of fear was visible on the girl he called Danas, more fully named Danas Cakrawala."Melvin. Let go. It hurts." Danas's voice was so weak; her eyes looked at the man in front of her, filled with emotion.Raka Melvin Mahameru, the owner of the company and the President of Neha'v Group, is engaged in pharmaceuticals. The man, not even 30 years old, had a handsome face with a firm jaw and silver hair that made him look even more perfect. He was charismatic and elegant but with a cold aura that made him unapproachable to any woman who tried to get into his life.Who doesn't know the cold man with so many accolades bestowed upon him, surely a woman's dream? Well-established, handsome, and wealthy is the outline of that man."Remember, I won't let you go. Keep suffering," Melvin said as he threw Danas on the floor. "Marrying me is n

"Why are you married to that woman?" asked a man who had just arrived and was cooking vodka."Why do you still ask? Obviously, I want to make her suffer.""Marry the girl and then make Renata suffer? Selfish!"Melvin looked at the man in front of him, shaking the glass filled with beer and a few pieces of ice."Isn't it enough to bankrupt her by taking over his family's company?""No! I'll make her suffer more, crawling on me, begging for mercy!"The man in front of Melvin could only shake his head. Perhaps the man thought that if Melvin was a demon incarnate in the world, how could he torture a beautiful girl like Danas?"Don't treat a woman like that. You'll get your comeuppance from God, Melvin. Your wife is beautiful, a designer, independent again!""Shut up, I don't want to listen to your judgment about that woman!""If you don't want to, just give it to me."Grep!Melvin grabbed the shirt collar of the man in front of him. "She's mine!""Relax, I'm just joking. After all, I can'

"Did you get any information on Renata's whereabouts?" asked Melvin with his eyes glaring at Rangga.Melvin's question made his assistant stop his footsteps from grabbing Melvin's suit to tidy up."No, I haven't found Ms. Renata's whereabouts. The last time I found her was in Germany, but after I sent someone there, she wasn't there.""I don't want to know, you have to find her."Rangga stared at the back of his superior; there was a sense of pity in him. To him, Melvin was a perfect man, having everything, yet he failed in love when his superior was abandoned a week before the wedding and was forced to marry the girl he hated the most."I've checked that there is no name of Miss Renata out of the country. I'll send some people to look for her."There was no response from his superior.Melvin chose to sit on the chair he leaned his body on, then massaged his head, feeling uncomfortable with his current position, making him change his position, bending his hands on the table, and then

Danas remained silent, not answering. "Danas," Melvin called. This time his voice was somewhat raised.Every woman wants to be adored, spoiled; why did I experience a fate like this? Am I wrong to want an attentive husband?! Every woman wants the same thing. But I have to discard all those desires; for me, hoping for such things to come true is merely in vain.Danas's eyes were in a straight line with Melvin's hazel eyes, then she moved closer toward her husband. She knew that the man was maintaining his image, yet that very thing made her heart ache. The pretense carried out by Melvin sliced into her deepest heart. It was not sincerity during moments of intimacy, but rather everything was fake.An attentive Melvin was fake. A smiling and warm Melvin was fake.Seeing Danas's slow steps, the man immediately pulled the girl's hand and made her sit on his lap."I-I will just sit in the chair."Melvin tightened his embrace. "Be a good girl, sit quietly

"Hey, Dan. It's unusual for you to take a cab, you usually take the bus," greeted a woman just as Danas stepped out of the taxi. "I didn't know you took a few days off, I even called you, but it wouldn't connect."The girl let out a sigh; there was a sense of relief, yet her body felt broken right now, especially when they had just arrived from Germany and Melvin had given her so much work to do.Danas looked back to see who was greeting her."Ah, it's you, Dav."A short-haired girl with neatly arranged bangs, coupled with pink lipstick on her lips, made her face look beautiful. Davina Rahwani—her best friend."Of course it is," the girl responded while patting Danas's shoulder."Ouch..." she winced."W-what's wrong? Why're you wincing?""N-nothing's wrong," Danas answered, trying to hide the fact that her body had bruises on it."Is it really nothing? You're different than usual, you look pale and exhausted.""Yeah, I'm fine.
