Chapter 7: Roxana Lynne

"Mom, I just saw a Lamborghini Murcielago coming out from the direction of our mansion." Roxana said in a daze. "I haven't seen anyone come to our house in months."

Roxana wears a short, tight dress, just enough to cover her sexy butt. Roxana's whole body gave off a strong smell of alcohol, red lipstick smeared, mascara smeared on the corners of her eyes. Last night she must have had such an orgy that she didn't come home, and it was past dinner time when she came back red-rimmed.

"Besides partying and drinking, what else can you do for this family? Hurry up and change your clothes."

Anne reminded her coldly, but in a tone that was not too harsh. Apparently she wasn't really mad at her daughter. Mr. Joshua glanced at Roxana and sighed and said nothing, for he, like Anne, was always tolerant and forgiving of everything Roxana did.

"Mom, you haven't told me who came to our house." Roxana meekly grabbed her mother's hand.

Then, the two of them went back to the bedroom on the second floor, whispering to each other.

I watched them for a moment, feeling both pity and sadness in my heart. In the past, when my mother was still living here, my family was inherently very happy. But when I was four years old, my mother passed away from cancer. Just three years later, my father remarried to Anne. Mrs. Anne is a secretary at my father's company, there are many rumors about them for a long time, even before my father married my mother, many people spread the word that my father and Anne were in love. It was only when my father actually married Anne that I believed the rumors to be true.

My mother's presence in this house gradually disappeared, my family photos were all replaced by Anne's pictures of her with my father. My mother's clothes were also sold at a cheap price, even though they were all branded. One by one, everything related to my mother was replaced by something new by Anne.

Only me remains as proof that my mother was once Mr. Joshua's wife and lived in this family. But then, Roxana Lynne was born. She received all the love of Anne and my father, and I became a forgotten child in my own family.

"Regina." Mr. Joshua suddenly called my name. "I'll talk to your stepmother about your arranged marriage with Darryl Rider. If your sister likes him, you'll condescend for her, right?"

Regina was silent and did not respond. Since Roxana was born, Joshua has always said the same thing. If Roxana liked something, Regina had to give it to her sister, if Roxana didn't like something, it belonged to Regina.

At first, Regina was also very angry and cried with Mr. Joshua, but his indifference and his obvious favoritism towards Roxana made Regina's heart grow cold. Gradually, no matter how surreptitiously Mrs. Anne bullied or suppressed her, she did not complain or say a word to anyone. Because she knew that speaking out would only annoy them, and she couldn't ask them for help.

"I got it, dad." Regina returned to her room.

Regina's understanding and docility made Mr. Joshua feel a little guilty, but that feeling quickly dissipated. To Mr. Joshua, the real wife is Anne, and the daughter who deserves all the best in the world is Roxana. It doesn't matter if Regina is in this family or not.

In Roxana's bedroom...

After hearing her mother talk about Darryl Rider, Roxana got goosebumps for some reason.

"You mean Darryl wants to marry Regina? Isn't that a good thing, have you always wanted to get Regina out of our family?" Roxana said while wearing red nail polish.

"You idiot. Darryl Rider is a dangerous mafia boss but he is extremely rich, looks cool, and has a great reputation. To be his wife must be very glorious. That stupid Regina is not worthy. " Mrs. Anne explained. Her ambition cannot be hidden.

"Mother, even then I wouldn't marry him. What if a dangerous person like him were a pervert?

There are rumors that he doesn't have any women yet, which could be speculated that he has a penchant for torturing and mistreating women, for example. Or did he kill all his mistresses?"

Roxana said in a pompous voice. Just the thought of sleeping next to a bloodthirsty man like Darryl made Roxana shiver. She likes elegant and generous gentlemen, not a mafia who only knows how to kill.

Hearing her daughter say this, Anne felt that her ambition could not be exchanged for the safety of her beloved daughter.

"All right. If you didn't like him that much then this marriage is left to your sister."

"Ahh, that's lucky. Mom, yo scared me to death. But, poor Regina, how can she be happy living with a demon like Darryl Rider? Hahaha." Roxana giggled.

Anne, after thinking clearly, also smiled comfortably. Perhaps as her daughter said, Darryl Rider was more of a threat than a bargain, leaving Regina in danger that was the best way for their family.

"Just thinking that I won't need to see Regina's sullen face ever again makes me happy." Roxana said.

"Right."

Three days later, all of Regina Lynne's belongings were moved to Darryl Rider's mansion. As soon as she got out of the car, Regina felt her heart pounding. She still remembers this mansion clearly, it was the place where she woke up from a terrible nightmare. Now, it will be her new home.

After taking a deep breath, Regina entered the mansion. Last time, because she was so panicked, she wasn't in the mood to look at the house closely. This villa is decorated in a classic style, with two main colors, black and white. The furniture and appliances in the house are not too many, but they are the most expensive and modern items.

Thinking about Darryl Rider living alone in such a large house, Regina suddenly felt a little pitiful about him. The man must have been very lonely.

"My lady, Mr. Darryl is waiting for you at the pool."

Following the maid's instructions, I was taken to the villa's swimming pool. Warm sunlight shines on the water surface and reflects in beautiful sparkling light strips. In the middle of the lake was a man who had already swam, his brown skin looking strangely attractive, his muscular muscles muscular and full of masculinity.

The maid left me there alone and quietly left.

Darryl swam into the ring without stopping, I waited until my legs were tired and numb. Still, I dared not sit down.

About half an hour later, Darryl came to the surface, stroked her hair, and let out a sigh of relief.

"Regina Lynne? When did you come?"
