Chapter 37: Icebreaker

“What's happening here?” a cool monotonous tone cut Eon's tantrums in.

“Uncle!” the kid shouted as he hurried to his uncle's side.

Zacharias glanced at Phyllis, Aster, and Eli, before turning to his nephew, Eon. He crouched down beside Phyllis to face Eon. “What's wrong, kid?”

“Uncle Aster wants to invite Aunt to join the game, but I don't want her to be on another team,” he grumbled.

He slowly nodded his head as he listened to Eon's whining. He leaned closer to Phyllis' side and quietly asked. “Do you want to join Aster, Lis?”

Phyllis was taken aback by his sudden question. Though he asked in his low voice, it was gentle and calm. It was so different from when he asked Eon earlier. Of course, not everyone would notice this. But Phyllis heard the shift in his voice.

“Yes. Besides, it's an inconvenience to everyone if Apollo doesn't have a plus one. You guys would have to wait for their plus one. Since Aster's my friend, why don't I help him out?” she explained.

He nodded
