Chapter 4

Author: Luna Scipio
The next day, Logan and I sat down to breakfast at the table.

Norris was there too.

I picked up some egg, gently feeding it to Logan. "Honey, open up. This is really delicious."

Logan obediently opened his mouth and ate it.

Norris couldn't stand it any longer. He threw his utensils down and got up to leave.

His parents shot him a disapproving look. "Why are you throwing a tantrum? Where are your manners?"

When I had been dating Norris, he would always say his parents were too busy to meet, so I had never had the chance to meet them. Even now, his parents didn't know I was his ex-girlfriend.

I sighed and put on a sympathetic expression. "Oh, he might not be happy with the food."

My attempt to smooth things over only made things worse. Norris ended up getting a good scolding from his parents.

"You're unbelievable. You never take care of business, and now you're throwing a fit at the family? We're cutting off your credit cards for the month."

Norris glared at me in frustration.

I simply smiled and tenderly adjusted Logan's collar.

-

Outside, the rain began to pour, heavy and relentless.

I suddenly remembered a time when it had rained just like this. I would risk getting sick just to make sure Norris didn't get wet.

Now, though, my thoughts turned to Logan. In this heavy downpour, I wondered if he would catch a cold.

But he was the head of Gilbert Investments—there was no shortage of people to hold an umbrella for him.

Yet I found myself standing in front of Gilbert Investments' building, hesitating about whether I should call him.

My phone rang.

"Hey, Logan."

"Are you… at the company?"

His voice held a hint of uncertainty.

He could probably hear the sound of rain tapping in the background. I responded with a hum.

Before I knew it, Logan appeared in front of me, panting. He wasn't even wearing a jacket.

I frowned as I looked at him, wrapping my scarf around his neck.

"It's cold. Why didn't you dress warmer? What if you catch a cold?"

Logan simply stared at me quietly, his eyes filled with tenderness as he listened to me fuss.

For a moment, I felt something stir in my chest, a feeling I hadn't expected. I realized—maybe, just maybe, I had started to fall for him.

This felt familiar. I remembered I had once wrapped a scarf around Norris and even stolen a kiss at such a moment.

I tugged at Logan's scarf, saying, "Logan, lower a bit."

He always did as I said, so he bent down slightly.

I pulled him closer, pressing a kiss to his lips. There was a faint trace of cigarette smoke in his mouth.

At first, he froze.

But then, he started responding, his large hands gripping my shoulders as he kissed me back, more urgently now.

When we finally pulled away, I was left breathless and a bit dazed.

Realizing what I had just done, I quickly glanced around, feeling awkward. "Just now… I saw Norris over there."

Logan's smile faltered, his expression turning cold in an instant.

Without another word, he walked out into the rain.

I quickly followed. "Logan, it's really coming down out there!"

Logan rarely ignored me, but right now, he was genuinely angry.

His long legs took fast strides, and I struggled to keep up in my heels.

Before I knew it, I tripped and fell to the ground.

Suddenly, someone scooped me up in their arms.

I looked up to find a fuming Logan, drenched in the rain but not saying a word.

Stick with me, and I'll take good care of you."It was disgusting. I was about to kick him away when suddenly, someone grabbed his hand off my back."Rosalind, I'm not dead yet, and you're already moving on?" Logan's voice was rough but full of fury as his glare locked onto Norris.I couldn't hide my relief. "Logan, you're awake!"He raised an eyebrow. "If I hadn't woken up, would you have let him keep hugging you?"What a giant green-eyed monster.Norris looked completely stunned. Acco

He carried me into the car and turned on the heat. Clinging to his damp clothes, I tried to calm him down. "Logan, don't be mad. At worst… I'll let you kiss me back!" Logan brushed my hand aside, his eyes red and filled with frustration. "Rosalind, you can play with my body all you want, but I don't want you doing it because of another man. I just wish you'd..." He paused, struggling to find the right words. Finally, he mumbled, "I just wish you'd want me for me." It hit me then—Logan seemed to have fallen for me. But why? His world wasn't short of women. Why me, of all people? Was it because he thought I had taken his virginity? "Why me? What makes me so special?" I asked, genuinely curious. His lips quivered, as if he were trying to muster courage. Then he said softly, "Rosalind, I've loved you for a long time... far before that night." I raised a hand to stop him, feeling a pang of guilt. "Logan, let me come clean. After that night at the bar, nothing really h

Once we were out of their sight, I let go of his hand. "Thanks for earlier. How much were the shoes? I'll transfer the money to you." Logan, however, fixed his gaze on me, as if he were trying to see straight into my soul. Without a word, he tightened his grip on my hand. "Rosalind, your engagement with the Gilberts hasn't been annulled, so…" "So what?" I took the lead, backing him against the wall, my voice low and teasing as I leaned closer to his ear. "What is it you want to say?" His face flushed bright red. He shoved me away, stammering, "I-I just think it wouldn't be so bad if we get married." This six-foot-tall man, now fidgeting with his hands like a shy schoolboy, made me chuckle. I slid a room key card into his hand. "Come find me at 8:00 PM tonight." A woman handing a man a room key—there was no need to spell out what that implied. As the clock on the wall ticked closer to 8:00 PM, I couldn't help but wonder what Logan would choose. The doorbell

  • Married My Ex's Brother   Chapter 2

I looked at Logan Gilbert, who was tugging at his tie, clearly uncomfortable. Feeling a twinge of guilt, I stepped forward to loosen it for him, noticing the red marks around his neck. Logan stammered, "Th-thank you…" He kept scratching at his neck, and I wondered if he might be allergic to alcohol. "Are you… okay?" With watery eyes, he met my gaze. "Yeah, I'm fine… Just a bit itchy." His innocent look only made me feel more guilty. I couldn't take it anymore.I grabbed Logan's hand and led him outside. "I'll get you some medicine." I didn't want to go back to the Gilberts' place and risk running into Norris, so I checked into a hotel room nearby. Logan couldn't handle his alcohol, and after just one drink, he was already swaying. Fortunately, some staff helped me get him into the room. Before I could get him the medicine, he threw up all over himself. "Wait! Don't puke!" But Logan wasn't listening. He emptied his stomach all over me. I sighed and changed into
